As terrific as Trey Hendrickson is, he does not seem like a good fit to me.
In 2021, the Rams had Obo Okoronkwo, Terrell Lewis and Justin Hollins at Edge opposite Leonard Floyd.
Von Miller was an expensive acquisition (2nd and 3rd round picks for a pending free agent) but he made a good position a major strength ... once he got healthy.
Hendrickson figures to be very marketable (imagine what the Lions might give-up to pair him with Hutchinson), and very expensive. Although, he would up-grade pretty much any team, Hendrickson makes a very strong (and deep position) stronger, with too much depth.
I say "too much depth" because there are only so many snaps for a team's two Edge players. Checking the stats, both Verse and Hendrickson played 75% of their team's defensive snaps last season. That would leave only 50% for Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart. That's not much playing-time for either (baring injury).
Again, Hendrickson is terrific but it seems like a poor use of valuable resources (draft capital and cap space).
