Lol. I was going to give you a high five and then realized it would look like I was raising my hand....Raise your hand if you knew exactly how this we would play out.......
Ill wait . .but calling bullshit on first one to chime in with hand raised
But we already knew that, so not a snag or anything suggesting the renegotiation was at risk of being nullified.A roster spot needing to be cleared so the renegotiation can happen is actually a snag btw.
I'll tell you what happened. I posted a thread on how Bojo's bombastic punting last Saturday was a DIRECT result of kicking in the thin air of Denver.Raise your hand if you knew exactly how this we would play out.......

LOL. We kept that contract. So the only team that matters clearly didn't feel like Hekker, with his contract, is a net negative.I didn't know how it'd play out, but I did say his contract was too big of a problem.
Jourdan said he was quote "untradable" with that contract.
So saying him with his contract was a negative was spot on. Cough @jrry32 cough

We'll see what the details are, but unless he took an absolutely massive pay cut, the Rams could have saved a lot more money by keeping Bojorquez.I mean, we forced him to renegotiate it.
Used Corey as leverage to force him to do it - and it sounds like if he would have said no, we would have moved on. No Rams sources confirmed that, but Jourdan is pretty in the know.
Now that’s the wonderful thing about turning a negative into a positive isn’t it?It was such nonsense that he was essentially forced to take a pay cut or get cut.
So yeah, it was 50/50. Had he said no, be would be gone

Wasn't the renegotiation labelled a "restructuring?" If so then that would involve reshuffling the money, but Johnny should not have lost anything over the life of the contract.I mean, we forced him to renegotiate it.

He already restructured once before thus incurring a dead cap hit of near 1.2 mill this season, 700k next season, 400k the season after. If they convert a large portion of his 3.75 mill to a bonus they can lower his 2021 number, but create a bigger issue next year and thereafter when his salaries hit 4 mill +Wasn't the renegotiation labelled a "restructuring?" We would have saved $3.75M this year by cutting him. And we weren't paying Bojorquez anywhere close to $3.75M.I think we wouldnt have saved much at all by cutting him - keeping Bojorquez would have resulted in paying the punter spot the same regardless of who we kept this year.
Since no one wanted to trade for him, the only way we save any money toward the P spot was if Hekker took a pay cut - so even if he just took a little off, saved us more money for this year than any other alternative.
Yeah, can't wait for the game time thread when we play Green Bay... "Bojrquez had 1.2 more yard average per punt!!!! F&@# YOU SNEAD!!!!!!!!!"So i guess this will be the first time in rams history that we will follow another team's punter so we can argue about whether it was a mistake to let that punter go.

I don't have time to look it up, but I thought someone countered my argument to cut him with the fact that we wouldn't actually save that much this season. But admittedly I didn't check.
Will be interesting to see what he lowered the number too since the Rams seemed to agree he was overpaid
