Wow, I'm appalled, Todd has been one of the best players on this team and one of the most selfless, I remember several times he could have padded his stats, taken more glory for himself by running in touch downs but would go down instead to ensure our wins. He gave us one of our best games/wins ever over the Shit Hawks in their house, and also that great playoff victory over the Cowboys. So many great memories and wins with Todd. I've always been impressed with his character, but he's also human and not perfect.

(y)

feel the same way...Todd Gurley made the LA Rams go, since the day they moved back.

Looks like his old QB feels that way, too.

I've always been impressed with his character, but he's also human and not perfect. I don't know what really happened with his knee, it was clear to see he was frustrated last year and now being let go I'm sure there are hurt feelings that come out at as anger. Did he say kind of a shitty thing, yeah because once again he's human and sometimes when we're hurt and frustrated the shitty side comes out. But man after everything he's been to this team some of y'all turn on him for this, saying "fuck Todd" and you hope he gets injured? Nah man, fuck y'all, Shame on you

That's at least a heartfelt intelligent perspective. And if that's your arguement I can understand it may not agree with it 100% but at lease its plausible and more heart felt towards the player. May not agree with the last part of it but maybe that came from emotion too. I don't want to see todd hurt. What I would like though is for him to just keep his mouth shut and handle his business hurt or not. We wouldn't even have this thread had it never been put out in public I think that's where it all stems from. Definitely don't wish him injury though I did plan to root for him but can't do that either anymore guess we all have emotions.

1. You don't have to approach anyone nicely you can do what you like either way it doesn't mean throwing a tantrum or trying to shame a company into giving you 5 million dollars early is in your best interest.

2. The Rams aren't wrong in any sense of the word unless they are past due. You don't just expect things because you feel like you shouldn't have to wait. If the contract states a date then that's when he should get it. As I mention earlier like a roster bonus date etc. that's why contracts exist and that's why they are enforced.

3. As far as a precedent the Rams are setting its not when the league forces. The contract isn't between the Rams and the league. The contract is between Gurley and the Rams and Gurley gets paid according to the language in said contract. Funny how there was no complaints when he signed it and received all that guaranteed money.

4. As far as petty kroenke didn't get rich by being stupid even though 5 million is a drop in the bucket to him it's still a ton of money and why should he have to pay it early when interest alone makes a significant chunk of cash for most or the fact that he could use it for investment purposes. Regardless he can use it to wipe his ass either way you pay bills when they are due.

1.All contracts in the NFL are structured around the CBA
2. Clay Matthews wouldnt have grounds to file a grievance if this was a normal situation the Players Union would have said No, but they recognize a dangerous game that is being played
3. the date Is the last day the money has to be paid before there are penalties that’s like waiting 3 months to pay your car note just because in your contract it states your car won’t be repossessed until after the 3rd missed payment.
4. I never said the Rams were wrong I said it’s shady and a little unethical tbh

it’s funny how this situation is the exact opposite when the Rams was leaving. All you heard was the city had all this time to make the stadium first tier and they waited till the last minute. Even though they did everything within the contract time frame they was still prosecuted by the LA crowd for waiting too long. How is this situation any different. He’s owed money that can be paid anytime from then to June 1st they’re just waiting to pay him on the latter date. Not illegal not wrong but Shady

Thank you. That's business 101. It's why a lot of people do not have taxes taken out of their paychecks and pay lump at end of year as well. Simple business strategy. Keep and earn money on your money as long as you can.
So a billionaire is with holding a former employee check just so he can gain some more money lol. If that’s how y’all do business damn.

Again contracts are contracts business is business for a reason. The date is in there for a reason. It is not shady it is within the bounds/legal limits of the contract unless it goes passed due. The rams are acting as per the contract whether that's an inconvenience to Tod or not well that's to bad and if he wants to go public well I'm sure that may be some motivation to see it through til the end.

This is a ridiculous conversation how things appear to be is not factual appearances can be deceiving and I for one will not go against the rams until proven otherwise. I will not side with a disgruntled former employee who calls out a team on social media that stood by him and rewarded his efforts on the field early. Sorry ....if what the rams are doing is petty then so be it but what gurley did is petty and classless.

That being said I do not think it's petty if they are within the bounds of the agreement then there is no harm here. Tantrums don't change binding contracts sorry.

Billionaires don't become billionaires by doing it stupidly. They become billionaires because they are shrewd. Stan could take that 5 million and turn it into 100 million. Stan can take the interest from 5 million and donate to charity. That's his decision it's his money. Gurleys money will be his when it is scheduled to be his.

Lastly the language in the contract was approved by gurley his agent and everyone else involved when he collect his money initially so why is it an issue now??? It's just business man. Just cause you got cut look at what you got from it well earned but let's face it looking at it from a business perspective from the rams side it wasn't a good or smart investment. Remember gurley jokingly saying he should give some of the money back??? Even he knew then he was the cat that swallowed the Canary.

Unfortunately that's how the vast majority of corporations do business. It's EXACTLY how my company does business, especially with my bonus and incentive checks, they hold it to the contractual date.

Also, as far as Stan being a cold hard billionarie and the such, that's probably true to some degree or another. That being said, look at the contract's handed out by him over the last few years. We NEVER saw an open wallet business model like that under Georgia's reign. Todd got payed very well, and I'm sure he's going to get his last bit from the Rams. No need to drag the team through the mud and I'm sure he isn't living paycheck to paycheck.

Well to be fair salary cap and tv deals are monumentally different then back then.

I do acquisitions for a major company overseas acquisitions and I get bonuses when I close the deal within a certain time frame I get my bonus it don’t take two months to get what is owed to me even if my original date on the contract says June 1st. Once I meet the parameters of getting my bonus I get it.

The Rams know exactly how much they have to pay Todd and once again the June 1st date is the last day they have to pay him before they get penalized it’s not the ONLY day they can pay him. So while they’re not doing anything illegal it’s still shady. Its not like they don’t know how much they have to pay him.

now Matthews is different because if he signs with another team the Rams don’t have to pay him anything I can understand the wait on him but Gurley not so much

Gurley made the Rams way more money than the Rams gave him so that doing right by him argument don’t hold water.

The Rams just like every team in theNFL can and most do pay their former employees as soon as the parameters of their release are met. The Rams for whatever reason are choosing not to do that. They have the right to pay him at the very last minute but don’t get that misconstrued as the only Date that money has to be paid by.

Gurley isn’t stupid you really believe(not you in general) that he didn’t weigh this decision out. He knows that any grievances he file will be held up due to Covid-19 and if he files a grievance than the Rams won’t have to pay him until the grievance gets solved. So he’s putting pressure on them and I can guarantee ROC Nation is behind him 100 percent. The Rams are using contract language and the Pandemic to its full effect to with hold money.

we wouldn’t even know the date of Gurley didn’t say anything so how do we even know if that’s the actual date or not we don’t know. All we really know is that Gurley is owe 5.5 million from the Rams that’s it.

Fine, fair enough. Yeah, if Akers wants some connections re. endorsements, I can understand that.

But Gurley has shown enough bull crap lately to prove he’s a bad influence. Seriously. Gurley tweeted something like, “Yeah, I was a bad teammate except for the parties.” I just don’t want “under his wing” to mean he shows Akers all the best stripclubs and how to have a surly selfish attitude.

Given Gurley’s continued bitterness and resentment, gotta think McVay would prefer that Gurley stays away from current Rams players at this point.

Here’s an article I missed from earlier, shortly after his release, about Gurley being a “bad locker room presence”:

Good link, thank you! Very insightful.

Exactly what we do know is they owe him 5 million 5.5 million dollars. We do not know when it is due that being said if they going according to the contract gurley himself signed then they are within there rights. And tough if he don't like it just keep talking to media I guess and vent til it's due.

As far as the amount of money gurley made the rams please spare me again Stan has enough money to burn and he didn't get it by not using the laws and rules to his advantage.

So one can keep taking the players side. I will most surely not take gurleys side and will give the rams the benefit of the doubt until proven guilty. If that day comes I will say immediately that the rams were shit for doing that but not jumping on a bitter exemployees bandwagon.

Gurley is like the dude that got dumped by his chick but can't deal with it and says he wants his ring back and stalks as an excuse to get his "stuff" back. Lol

Theres two scenarios:

A. Todd Gurley says hes got nothing but love for his ex teammates and then tells them the front office cant contact him until hes paid.

OR

B. Todd Gurley says theres nothing but love for his ex teammates and then bashes them 10 seconds later by saying they cant call him til he gets paid.

Either Gurley is bipolar or some just want to be willfully ignorant.

I agree with you I just didn't want to take it to a personal level and say how gurley should or should not act. That being said that's part of the classlessness of going to social media it's a trickle down effect. Unfortunately in this day and age I really didn't want to touch on that lol but if you lump everything together yes it's all classless. It's a lot of money he earned it but just do it in a better way for all the many reasons we have all mentioned.
