I’ve seen people say Goff is now a one read QB who can’t handle pressure. It’s actually hilarious what people continue to come up with.
Watch the Chargers last night....Rivers looked the same.
Get pressure on Brady and Brees and they become average pretty quickly.
It is a rare thing to have a QB that excels vs pressure and blitzing. Warner did one way....reading the D, standing in the pocket and knowing pre snap where the open guy was. Rogers and Wilson do it another, escaping with their legs, keeping their eyes downfield and throwing on the run with great touch.
Almost every other QB gets happy feet and either forces the ball, takes check downs or takes sacks.
The best way to shut down great receivers is getting pressure up the middle on the QB.
All of that said, Goff is still learning. He does not see open receiver sometimes....sometimes guys right in front of him. But, he is young and still growing. The growth in his game from year 1 to now has been massive. I would expect continued growth. But with ALL things....learning to read, ride a bike, cooking, lifting weights, running a business and everything else....growth comes from struggle. If everything went right every time there would be no cause for growth. Growth also slows the closer you get to the completed product.
Beginner gains is a real thing.
So, it's a process.
People making determinations about Goff at this is just plain silly.
