Maynard James Keenan -- whether it's with TOOL, A Perfect Circle, or Puscifer, the dude has some decent pipes. And his voice switches from angel to demon seamlessly.
Off the top of my head, his best vocal performances:
"The Pot" TOOL (10,000 Days)
"Judith" A Perfect Circle (Mer De Noms)
"Green Valley" Puscifer (Conditions of My Parole)
Nobody commanded an audience like Freddie Mercury did.Freddie Mercury, Ian Gillian
Check out Child of Time by Deep Purple, Ian Gillian at his peak no doubt
I think we all can(have!) to agree on thatNobody commanded an audience like Freddie Mercury did.
That was Dicky Betts debut as lead vocalist on Blue Sky. Great song. Like your other choices too.
PhxRam, since you mentioned him Cocker was a great interpretive vocalist. Loved his version of "With a Little Help From My Friends".

Great find Les! I wasn't aware of the story behind the song. Going to have to give it another listen with that in mind. Thanks for sharing.Just read about this song after googling betts, this was written for his wife, an Indian and her name was Blue Sky.
So this song just moved from great tune to awesome love song and the meaning of the lyrics is different now too.
