Good News. AD speaking up on holding. Hopefully NFL takes action.

"In my opinion, they hold every play," Donald said, adding that in a 27-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, "there was some blatant holds that we didn't get the call for."

When asked if he lobbied with officials to bring attention to opponents holding him, Donald chuckled.

"All the damn time I talk to them," Donald said. "I say, 'You got to see that holding call,' they say they don't see it. I'm like, 'Man, the guy got me around my neck, grabbed, pulled my shirt, I just beat a guy with a clean rush.' But it's all right, hopefully I'm gonna get one sooner or later that's gonna help us big time, so I just got to keep playing."

They're going to hold him on every play because they know only a tiny percentage of those plays will get called. Maybe if the officials flagged other lineman like they did Greg Robinson, but they won't.

Reggie White, Julius Peppers, JJ Watt all had to deal with this too.

Coaches do get to review games with officials every week and when they win it doesn't come off as whining so hopefully this game makes a difference not only about OL holding, but WR PI's as well. The refs have to train their eyes to see what they're missing. The good news is that the grades for this staff may be so low that it gets attention from the league. It will never be broadcast publicly but behind the scenes, this may have been a pivotal game in terms of how this team is officiated.

Fingers crossed

I've never seen a D-Lineman get held like he gets held.
The refs just ignore it, because if they literally called every hold...AD would wreck the game.

how is a lineman sacking a precious qb wrecking the game?

sacking the qb violently on 3rd down is possibly the most entertaining play of the game.

apart from the ones that happen to rams qbs, the only sack i haven't enjoyed was the favre "claytons" sack, when he fell down in front of gap tooth in the 58th minute of a game, in week 17 where the packers were thrashing the giants, to hand him the sack record. the nerve of that guy. i didn't like him before that play, i detested him after it.

.

Holding is down significantly across the league, one might think that there was some kind of directive from the league. AD hasn’t got one in 2 games, I don’t think that’s ever happened before, maybe they think it will reduce injuries to qbs, or maybe they thought olines would get murdered with the lack of practice.

Robert Quinn used to get constantly choke-held when he played for us. This may have contributed to the issues with his back. Imagine The Mighty Quinn and The Kraken! at full strength terrorizing QBs. Unfortunately, Robert was only a shell of his primetime glory when Aaron joined the Horns.

NFL needs to make sure whatever the directive is for calling offensive holding is that it is consistent for ALL teams and ALL games. If so then everyone understands the parameters to prepare and should see the results being consistently called.

His point was “a holding penalty on every play”. THAT would wreck the game. Or be insanely funny, one of the two.

My understanding is that, while holding occurs on virtually every play, the officials only call the ones that impact the result of the play. Given Aaron's electric first steps combined with his instincts and good straight-line speed, brute force, & athleticism, the holding against him! is much more significant than holding just about any other player.

Serve up the game against the 'Hawks as a prime example. Aaron had absolutely no official sacks or tackles, but he clearly dominated that game like no other player. How much times was he held then? Why was Russell so terrified by Aaron's penchant for causing strip sacks that he either slid to the turf or deliberately tossed inerrant throws? How many times did Seattle's overmatched OL guys have to hold on to Aaron to keep their best player from getting creamed?

Can we hear some more kudos for the all black crew that officiated this game. How many times during that game did we hear this was the first time in history an NFL game was officiated by an all black crew. Who cares if they are all black, brown, red, yellow, or white as long as they can get the calls right. The people that kept telling us about the all black crew are the real racist, because most of us don't care what color they are as long as they make the correct calls.

Has to be a point of emphasis.

The missed holding call in the endzone did it for me. There's been several missed calls (including the facemasks on Goff) but I lost it on that play. We talk about not finishing games or the lack of scoring more points but it's missed calls like this that cap our momentum in close games, when it matters most. And seeing how it was bitch-ass Bogers crew, holy f**k.....smh.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving !!!!!!!

Just ask the Colts. Their game against GB last week they were flagged 4/5 times for holding on one of their last drives. It was frikken insane!!!! It almost cost them the game.

A player this dominant would control the entire game.

It has happen to others but hard to believe others had this same issue when it takes a double team AND a hold to keep it from taking over.

There are holding penalties called on the opposing team. I just can't recall one being with AD.

Frustrating to say the least!

Watched that!

One of the craziest finishes I can remember.
