Primed. Got it. And here I thought results mattered. I think you said you were looking to change to the Jags because they were doing it right. Picking in the top 5 because of record seems to be them doing it "right". Taking a top QB and receiver was doing it "right". I'm not saying we have looked good this season. But we damn sure have not looked Jags bad for the last 5.

No. I would have changed to the Jaguars because I have personal connections to the team.

But yes, they're doing it right. As soon as they get rid of their HC, they'll be good to go.

The Jaguars weren't ahead of us but that might change. I said at the start of last year (2015) that Bortles would be inconsistent overall for the year but breakout midway through the year and continue to improve. Due to that, the Jaguars wouldn't contend in 2015 but will contend for the playoffs in 2016. I stand behind that prediction.

They've spent a lot of money this off-season (because they had to) to address some of the big flaws they have and I think Bortles is going to keep improving. They had a top 5 pick in the draft to add to the defense and get their #3 pick in the draft back after he missed his entire rookie year.

With the FAs they've added and the draft capital they have, it's very possible that their defense takes enough strides forward that they are contending for their division in 2016. Plus, the Texans did them a huge favor by paying Osweiler all that money and the Titans did them a huge favor by hiring Mularkey.

The problem the Rams have is that we're stuck in neutral until we find a solution at QB. Hell, if you look at the Jags starting line-up, that team is starting to round into shape:
QB: Blake Bortles
HB: Chris Ivory
XWR: Allen Robinson
ZWR: Allen Hurns
SLWR: Rashad Greene
TE: Julius Thomas
LT: Kelvin Beachum (?)
LG: Luke Joeckel (?)
C: Brandon Linder
RG: A.J. Cann
RT: Jaremy Parnell

LDE: Malik Jackson
NT: Roy Miller
UT: Sen'Derrick Marks
LEO: Dante Fowler Jr.
WLB: Telvin Smith
MLB: Paul Posluszny
SLB: Dan Skuta
LCB: Davon House
RCB: Prince Amukamara
SLCB: Aaron Colvin
FS: Tashaun Gipson
SS: Jonathan Cyprien

Plus, they have the #5 pick in the draft.

There are still a few holes and questions with the team but it's starting to look like a pretty solid roster. My big question is whether Gus Bradley is a good enough coach. I'm not a huge fan of his.

They're off to a bad start. May not contend for the playoffs like I thought they would. We'll see. But the talent is still there. Coach is the problem.

Same way Sherman doesn't get flagged for PI, illegal contact, holding (take your pick) in the end zone against Britt. And, 72 doesn't get tossed for his BS at the end of the game and throwing a punch. The league is up their asses.

bennett will be getting the Fed Ex envelope this week...wouldnt be surprised if Carroll gets one also

Sorry man. They are doing it right only if they are winning. You can't say that they are doing it right when they pick in the top 5 EVERY year because of record. Doing IT right means wins. Doing IT right means playoffs. Doing IT right means SBs. You are being duplicatus to serve yourself and your agenda - which seems to be a real moving goalpost BTW.

It was Goff or bust. Now it's Fisher couldn't see your ultimate wisdom (which I partially agree with BTW). In the JAGs case, you were ready to switch to them absent our picking Goff because THEY were doing it right. Now it is that Fisher should have essentially given him every first team snap.

You can't be right in the whole because you singled out a portion to fit your agenda. You are either doing it right or you are not. You might have a leg to stand on if they had an upward trajectory. But they miss even that low mark as they have sucked in what is probably the worst division in football over the past several years.

You make mention about a question mark at HC for the Jags. But Bortles sucked big time until he was down 35-0. Well it's shocking that a QB would be able to rack up yards down 35 after 3 quarters. But at least nothing says top defense ( http://www.ramsondemand.com/threads/hey-fisher-get-a-damn-qb.43632/page-5 ) like giving up 5 TDs to the CHARGERS.

Just HOW exactly are they doing it right? I asked you about all this when you were threatening to leave the Rams to become a Jags fan.

I'm not happy still with how the Rams are doing but lecturing us about how the Jags will be your new team because they are "doing it right" is really rich. I guess I hope we never get it right then.

Didn't we get our asses kicked 28-0 by a bad team Week 1 while the Jaguars nearly beat the Packers? Fortunes change quickly in the NFL. There's a long season ahead of us.

And yep, Jaguars are doing it right. Rams are too now that they got Goff. It would be nice if they played him. My opinion is that both teams should consider a change at HC.

How are they doing it right? QB + young talent. The wins will eventually come.

Wins don't matter. Building a team by your blueprint shows they are doing it right. Got it.

Correct. My detailed blueprint of drafting good players and trying to find a young franchise QB. It's a rarely used blueprint around the league.

And it is the only one used throughout the league so it must be infallible. Well at least when the QB actually turns out to BE a franchize QB. Chicken and the egg?

BTW - how have they been really drafting better players than we have? Because they lucked out on a 2nd and 4th round receiver while choosing #3 overall 58% completion Bortles? It's WINS Jrry. Nothing else matters. Fisher is fair game on that front but threatening to leave the Rams as a fan because the team is not doing things YOUR way even though YOUR way has clearly not resulted in wins is bogus. BTW - How is Teddy working out for the viqueens?

What the hell are you even talking about at this point? I said nothing about which team drafted better. In fact, this whole debate started back when it looked like the Rams weren't going to draft a QB and were going to move forward with Keenum as a starter. My issue was with the Rams allegedly planning on not going after a franchise QB while retaining Fisher. Then they did go after a QB. Give it a rest.

How is Teddy working out for the Vikings? Helped them make the playoffs last year. Blew out his knee this year. I think we're all familiar enough with a QB blowing his knee out.

NICE!!!!! Nice job Hill.
whew...we got him in the game just in time...I guess GW doesn't wanna get fired over Sensabaugh....

Great job Hill. That kid should be starting over Sensabaugh.
If he's not starting against the Bucs...he better be hurt..or see above...I kinda wanna see Williams now...I think he's just as good...
Sensabaugh got replaced by Hill (which means someone is paying attention).....................the Defense is balling
Again, Greg W. wants a career in coaching in the NFL on his talent...not because everyone KNOWS Greg Williams....I doubt the Ryans work in the NFL after 2017...and the buddy ryan/46 bears defense will die...sorta like Monty Kiffen's cover 2. Does't work vs the spread offenses of today...

Did Roberson get picked up?

Just curious. I always liked him as a depth CB.
I thought Indy grabbed him....

Fisher must have heard me screaming to get Sensabaugh the Freak out of their and put Hill in !!
Did you scream for Goff too Dave??? You told us you would.....

You nailed it been yelling for Goff but I don't think Fisher hears me
You and Dave need to sit closer together....I'll meet ya at the tailgate and give you my megaphone....I'll be damned if he doesn't hear you vs the Cards...
Britt is a 1000 yard receiver im telling you.
#1 wr in my book....telling you, he's the real deal....most impressive wr we have....next is Mike Thomas...then...Brian Quick...that's my story, and I'm sticking to it....
I will say, I also like Tavon...but his game is different...and requires a different skill set or different plays to utilize him...

Is it me or Alexander a little late speed wise in the secondary...
It's all you westcoast!!!!!! First year starter...c'mon man! We haven't given up a long TD pass yet...and the middle of the field is always bare....
Hill been getting abused all day
Are we watching the same game? Abused? they pay the Hawks receivers too...and Hill has been getting tested by fire this game....I think he stood up well...in fact he made some game winning plays....specifically the tackles AFTER the long completions..

but at least nothing says top defense ( http://www.ramsondemand.com/threads/hey-fisher-get-a-damn-qb.43632/page-5 ) like giving up 5 TDs to the CHARGERS.
Phillip Rivers is NO joke 503....seems like they got the bug outta Melvin Gordon's ass too...Gates is still there...That Diego offense, hell that HC...is NOT the problem in Diego...you and jrry are funny tho...LOL

Love reliving wins in the game thread...MAD as HELL I'm not here...

Hey 1-1....tied for first....15-1 still in the works...

Now, how do we get Goff some fucking stats?!?!?

Props to Joyner...my personal sore spot....I guess bringing in Williams was good for his ass...So was Higbee & Hemingway for Kendricks....So was Cooper, Thomas for Britt...and Quick...and Tavon...

Still don't know what it takes to get Tavon loose....I mean...under-utilized doesn't begin to describe my feelings.... 4 yr old here...gotta go

No I haven't started screaming for Goff YET! If we don't start scoring points soon, They will be able to Hear me from Simi Valley California to Irland!!(y);):D I think during this Road trip we'll start seeing Cooper and Spruuuuce!:D
