I’m thinking a really nice kale salad to start and then some zoodles with lentils - and you know I will be firing up the grill for game day!! BBQ Tempeh, baby!! I don’t want to blow my wad too early but at kickoff, I’m hoping to have a nice glass of Riesling to pair with the meal. Since it’s opening weekend, I’m gonna splurge with a slice of cantaloupe for desert. Game Day , Beatch!!!

Nice you have the grilled corn and elote too! Had elote also.

What happened to all the jus? That's one of my favorite parts of cooking steak, that's where a lot of flavor is at!

I know people like the Tabasco, but that's a pass for me. Very vinegar based. Like raw horseradish or hot unseasoned grilled and peeled hatch.

I used it on your appetizer, a French Dip sandwich. Now squeeze that French Dip over your steak.

Today my GF spent the whole day in the kitchen. She made a whole lot of taquitos and homemade guac. I went to the store got the beer. Then she made a whole mess of chicken and beef enchiladas so all she has to do is bake them on Sunday night. Her brother and wife usually join us (I converted both from Cowboy fans) and they are bringing homemade tortilla ships (even the tortillas are homemade) and salsa fresca. He's bringing ribeyes to grill up after the victory.

Oh yeah me and la familia are gonna be ready to scream and yell. Bring it on Bears.

Next week my GF is going to make a bunch of homemade cinnamon buns and I will grind the beans for fresh coffee since it's a morning game. The victory celebration lunch will be grilled cheeseburgers and elotes, chips, and fresh salsa.

NFL season mean's gameday feasts.

I was salivating looking at the site. No ship to Canada. Grr. Never thought of online, though.

When I think of small towns in Canada, I can't get past that old TV show ... Corner Gas. It was hilarious, and come to think about it, I don't believe they had a Mexican Restaurant anywhere in the vicinity either.

When I worked for S&P and had to go back to NYC twice a year for staff meetings in the late 70's amd early 80's they would put us up in NJ to save money (cheap SOBs). Where we were, a diner and Dunkin Doughnuts were considered fine dining and forget about any Mex food. Thank God the Howard Johnsons they put us up at had a decent restaurant.

By the way, it will be 239 days since the Rams played (at Green Bay) before they kick off vs the Bears Sunday night.

Sunday morning:

A huge fully loaded omelet with a big glass of orange juice.

Sunday lunch:
A large fresh bbq'd hamburger with steak fries.

Sunday evening prior to kick off:
Only snacks and a couple glasses of (wine). My appetite will be low with week one jitters and nerves.

My local grocery store has a sale on tomatoes. I think I'll make my homemade salsa. When making salsa with fresh tomatoes in the processor the key is to cook some diced jalapenos in tomato juice, add some chicken bullion and Mexican seasonings and mix it with the rest of the stuff. Its a salsa everyone demands I make when we have a get together with chips and dips.

Love @Florida_Ram Cheeseburger in paradise, plus his whole menu, however, I'm a dinner guy and that's all.

Sunday morning:
A fine Columbian Beverage, Starbucks French Roast one of the few things the French have done right.

Sunday lunch:
Being Italian Sunday dinner is usually around 3pm, it's ribeye steaks with grilled asparagus, my trophy bride of 28 years will do the Garlic roasted potatoes, but yours truly will save the carbs for the wine.

Sunday evening prior to kick off:
It's a fine pinot noir (Cavit) with some muenster cheese & celery, not much of an eater during the games and with the red wine, I drink less then drinking a single malt during the game.

Im headed out to a camp ground for an overnight stay because deer season opens today. So I’ll be in a tree with a cross bow tryin to be a cherokee ninja this evening. After that though, good food, cold beers and campfire.

One thing is a given when we go camping……We eat like kings. Its the best part of the whole trip. I’m sure there will be something nice on the grill. Will post a photo when it goes down.

We WONT be eating Jerk Chicken again though. Few years ago my buddy made some Jerk that was so hot we all were sweating like race horses. Turns out he didnt read the instructions on some Jerk marinade and used the whole bottle when he was supposed to use a table spoon. The result was we spent that night and next day having serious shits, which kinda insured we saw no deer cause you never wanna bend a sapling near your hunting spot. But we couldnt help it. My buddy blew up the camper so bad that me and another dude slept outside.

Man, you sure do love your chili

It’s perfection in a bowl… beef, beans, spiced up just right…

I like to eat a cup or two. Then a bowl over thin spaghetti noodles towards dinner hour.

Yeah… I love it!
