I think there's a very wide consensus how much the Rams would miss Lake....

Like stated earlier get Forbes some additional help and don't leave him 1on1 with anyone on 3rd and 4th downs.
I think Forbes has been pretty great on an island this season but his aggressiveness bit him in the ass in yesterdays game.

The ballgame for any top CB is if they can put a game like this behind him cause they'll all have them (highest variance position in football).

In Washington Forbes got in his head but can he lock back in next week.

I wouldn't make any general rules based on one bad game.

Ford has done very well this year in one on one situations on 3rd and 4th downs, especially in the previous six weeks where he was objectively playing like a top 5 CB in the league. Not average, top 5...based on a multitude of stats, not just one person's subjective eyeballs.

I think I'm beginning to see Forbes kryptonite. Big WRs. It started with A.J. Brown when he was with Washington.

If it's at all possible, maybe keep him on the smaller guys and let Witherspoon handle the bigger ones?

Or draft corner in the second, third, or even fourth (if we trade into that round). There's a lot of good bigger corners; Tacario Davis (Washington), in particular, is someone I've been pounding the drum for. I won't lie, though; D'Angelo Ponds (Indiana) is someone I'd really go for in the third round if he slips with his size. I don't care that he's 5'9" at most; he's just fucking different with his tape.

Yeah, Eagles fans say Forbes is AJ's bitch. Never paid much attention to that matchup when he was in DC, but apparently it wasn't pretty.

So, the proposed problem is big, physical receivers and your solution is a “5’9” at most” CB? Not sure I understand that thought process.

It was worse with Kendricks..... there's another ray for ya.
Rams still have Ahkello who just olgot back. Not saying he will solve the problem.

Rams got exposed again & when B. Young isn’t 100,the pass rush is not the same.
He wasn't the biggest reason we lost, Stafford was the reason why we lost.

Like I stated he will always be average at best. Did you see him on the bench moping after he was burned the 2nd time for a TD???

Not exactly sure, just know he wasn’t happy with his play.I do think adversity can make a player better. How Forbes bounces back will help give a better perspective of his character & how he handles himself. IMO - the coaching staff knows a lot as well.Aubrey has been a CB’s coach for awhile.

Stafford he still made enough plays, but he also knows the game was on him for the fumble & delay of game. The pick 6 as well, but he has convinced himself the first one was just playing ball.
The Rams still need to make that stop on 3rd down to get the football back. I’m Sure Stafford felt he gets the ball back The Rams are score to tie or win in out right before OT.

Need a stud CB in the draft and need to resign Lake.

Well the Cards have 3 WRs over 6ft and 2 under 6. So if he does struggle against tall receivers then he will be covering Dortch all game. I’m not convinced of that, though it would be cool if they put him up against Harrison Jr. Hoping for him to bounce back this next game.

I think they should drill in to Forbes head is to not under-cut any routes. Do not go for any interceptions. Provide Forbes help if it shows early in the game he's struggling with 1on1 coverage. I predict Forbes will be playing well off the line of scrimmage, so he must close in quickly after the catch and make the damn tackle.

I'm almost sure the Cardinals are going to be throwing Forbes way, and the Cardinals time of possession is going to be in the 30 plus minute range, so our offense is going to need to score often. What I'm hoping as the field get's shorter for our defense, Forbes can be a little more aggressive on the short passes and the D can just allow field goals.

Or Forbes can have an above average game and none of the above will matter.

He's always getting toasted and can't tackle.

He makes a few great plays and everyone thinks he gonna be this great player.

The reason he has to make the few great plays is because he constantly gets burned.

If I were a QB I would always throw in his direction. He will either get burned, miss the tackle after the catch or get flagged for holding.

Are you going to only come at the guys who has been our best corner this year, or are you going to point out the lack of pressure on Young? Because those work in tandem

Forbes is just not a CB1. He's gonna be a fine member of this secondary going forward if he keeps working. But the Rams need to tune their corner room. It's time to field a group who can shut down Shanahan's fuckin bullshit scheme underneath. Corners who have the instincts and physicality to break on balls underneath or flip their hips and run.

If they add a couple good corners like that next offseason, even let's say one of them in FA, this defense might be good enough to give us a title run on its own merits.

For this year's run Shula's gonna have to make do with ensuring the pressures are there. So I think he needs to get back to that. This front has slipped in its production of late. Time to unfuck that bullshit and crank the heat up.

Are you saying it's Youngs fault that Forbes is an average (at best) CB?

Well if that's the way you see it.

He has played above average several times this season. I struggle to understand why you are not acknowledging that. One bad game against a quite brilliant game plan when we were forced to leave 2 LBs on the field and cheat with a safety to try and stop a dominant run game isn’t exactly all down to him!

Great point. It was a pretty bad match up despite Forbes length. Washington on the other hand has excelled against bigger WRs so hopefully this problem shouldn’t affect us on his return. We also missed Lake especially over the middle. The panthers had a great game plan. Those three things came together at big moments

Young as in Bryce Young.

Notice how Forbes has a bad game when not one single member of the front 7 can get pressure? You can have Revis in his Prime and he will still get beat when the line can’t generate pressure

Any CB we aquire needs to be at least 6ft 180. Be nice if we could get bigger. I am tired of the little CBs this team always gets cause they don't draft any early. The only "big" CBs available are slow when they pick them, ie Kendricks.
