Don’t think this game defines Forbes and his character. The entire team can take this loss..
I agree, never said it did. He's been good all year but he got beat badly twice today that's all I said. I still want a CB1 in the next draft as I did before he turned it on and when he started playing good. Haven't changed on that one bit.

A lotta over reactions on the board again.
The defense didn't play call or execute today as it has been for the last 6-7 straight games. Gave up big plays today where they have been normally getting stops. We're still not pressuring the Q as much as we need to do, putting additional stress on the secondary.
And I don't know why anyone would stop running the ball today, given the rhythm they were both in carrying the ball today.
I'm hoping that this was THAT game, and it's out of our system. Better now than in late January.
There were some amazing plays today by the Rams, but it wasn't enough to overcome the mistakes and the big plays made by the cats.
Next up ....... the Cards.
Time to get back on track, kick their asses, and reclaim our moxie.

i like forbes....

on the one TD throw, he was step for step with the receiver coming across, and the second he looked back, the receiver cut upfield, got separation, and forbes' goose was cooked... he would have remained step for step had he not looked back IMHO...

sorry guys... i think he looks pretty good... he's not perfect

cornerback credo= forget the last play, move on to the next play... its the NFL... you're gonna get beat now and then...

go rams

His facial expressions when the camera was on him, he had that he wasn’t feeling well look. You can tell he was disappointed in himself but was trying his best. He wasn’t as hype this week, it happens that energy wasn’t there for sure. Rams will be fine they are afterall human.

He's always getting toasted and can't tackle.

He makes a few great plays and everyone thinks he gonna be this great player.

The reason he has to make the few great plays is because he constantly gets burned.

If I were a QB I would always throw in his direction. He will either get burned, miss the tackle after the catch or get flagged for holding.
Any other astute observations from today’s defensive shit show?

You're simply wrong.

Forbes had a bad game and absolutely should be criticized for it. But to say that he's "always getting toasted" is false. To say that he "constantly gets burned" is false.

Before this game, he was arguably a top corner in the league. He didn't just get three interceptions and an ungodly amount of PBUs; he did that with lockdown coverage and solid tackling in the run game.

He had an awful game today against two big physical targets. One of those targets was not only a top ten pick, but leads rookie receivers in almost everything, and the other is an undrafted find who should, by all rights, have been drafted.

I'm not saying Forbes doesn't deserve criticism when he clearly does for this week, but don't come here with falsehoods trashing a Rams player - especially ones that you can't back up when all of the stats say that you're full of it; I will shut that shit down without any mercy.

Precisely correct. This year we are going to live or die with our pass rush potency. Games where they don't get home the offense is going to need to carry the day.

What we lack is that top matchup option. And even if we had that the rest of these guys need a good rush. Nothing against Forbes but he's not ready to be that dude. So they need to add someone and from there if Forbes becomes that dude then we have two.

So Jalen Ramsey had a weakness.
It was FAST 4.3 type of WRs.
He got burnt by those types and locked down everyone else.

Forbes might have a weakness.
It looks like it's big strong WRs.
Panthers WRs are all 6'4 plus.

I'm not going to call him below average just because he has trouble covering certain types of WRs.
Today looked like a matchup problem more than anything.

Forbes is average to below average at best..... He was terrible the first few games and has improved (I'll give him that) but he has reached his peak.

His issue's are he's not a very good tackler, and he cant handle physical receivers..... He is dependent on QB's not making good passes.... I'll bet Puka has a field day with him at practice.

Forbes is gonna be an issue in the playoffs.

I’ll totally disagree with most of what you said. Then again talk all your BS & Blast him.Meaning talking smack.

To say Emmanuel Forbes isn’t going to get better is a FARCE ! He has already proved he can get better.

Forbes got EXPOSED all game against Carolina.I 110 % give you that.He was probably the Biggest Reason The Rams lost.

The missed tackle in the first half on 3rd down was ugly.He got burned on 4th twice for TD’s.It doesn’t get much worse than the way he played. His talent is there,he just needs to regroup, learn & improve.

I still believe in the young man,but then again Ahkello is Back & wanting to start. He wants in & wants to play every down.Wondering how it all plays out.The Cards have a couple good WR’s.

He wasn't the biggest reason we lost, Stafford was the reason why we lost.

Like I stated he will always be average at best. Did you see him on the bench moping after he was burned the 2nd time for a TD???

It was worse with Kendricks..... there's another ray for ya.
Are you familiar with this place?

Seems as if you might really enjoy it there.

That's why I'm hoping that early (a first) we draft a big, fast, physical CB who can match up well with the bigger wide outs in the league.
And it seems that everyone at the top of the league standings has one.
That, and I'd like to see Shula mix in a few more well disguised blitz packages. I could see him using Stewart and an occasional safety for them. Getting pressure and getting their QB off of his spot really helps produce the TO's. (See Darnold)
BTW, Stewart was held big time (the replay clearly showed it) on the big play around the right side for a TD.
It just wasn't our day.

Again. With. Absolutely. Zero. Proof. When all evidence to the contrary exists.

Read where he utterly shut down Jaxon Smith-Njigba, - arguably one of the single best receivers in the NFL - and held him to three catches for thirty yards on five targets while being matched up against him TWENTY times, which is more than ANY cornerback has been matched up against JSN ALL YEAR (all of his remaining yards were gained on other corners).

Read where he had a five-pass-break-up, one pick game against Tampa Bay, where he was targeted seven times and didn't allow a completion - which a defensive back hadn't done since 2022.

Read where he leads the team in interceptions along with Durant, where he dominated Shaheed, Godwin, Egbuka, etc. in his matchups; where his passer-rating-against was the lowest amongst NFL cornerbacks from Week 6 to this week and is still the lowest for a qualified outside cornerback; where he has thirteen passes defensed, not including interceptions, which is fourth in the entire league; where he's had the top coverage grade of any cornerback from the 49ers first game to before this Panthers game.

Read where he's stepped up massively in run defense, hasn't allowed extra yards when he's in tight man coverage, and the areas where he has missed tackles before this game is when the wide receiver has a head of steam and open field - that's something where every cornerback and even safeties and linebackers struggle with and where the receiver is going to win that rep ninety-nine-times out of a hundred; there's a reason why the best defenses swarm to the ball and combine stops.

And what's more, he's self-reflective of his mistakes and has proven that he will take criticism; that's why he gained so much good weight this season, and why the Panthers game was a moment of self-reflection for him, where he understood why he got beat so that it will happen less (because there is not a player who has ever lived who has never had a bad game).

You are blatantly ignoring documented facts that can be searched with a single Google search to prove just how dead fucking wrong you are. Either come up with some shit that you've researched - and I mean REALLY FUCKING RESEARCHED WITH DATA THAT ISN'T "he's average or below average at best" which repeating ad nauseum doesn't suddenly make it true, even with a bad game - or shut up and take the fucking loss. At this point, I have no problem calling you out for trolling. Either stop running your mouth full of shit and LISTEN to people who can teach you, or GTFO.

EDIT: And if I sound mean? Tough fucking shit. I just got out of the hospital less than twelve hours ago and have been unable to sleep because of all of the medicine they pumped me with. I have no patience and zero tolerance for those who won't learn and continue to stir the pot, which is what I truly believe you're doing at this point and what others have called you out for.

Forbes will be fine. The problem for the defense in this game was they were ineffective at stopping the run right up the middle and they did not have any pressure on Young when he dropped back to throw. Let's not forget this was with the Panthers playing backups in the middle of their offensive line. So, you knuckle heads made need to lighten up on Forbes a little. Put some pressure on the QB and Forbes will be fine.
