My bride took me to what is largely known as a biker bar here for brunch before my birthday. Y'know... I get a birthday weekend.

Anyway, this place had an amazing eggs Benedict. 3 eggs, spinach, pile of thinly sliced ham, on a croissant. On the side, red potatoes and onions. The hollandaise has a touch of sherry in it and was spot on. Best Benedict I've had in some time.

@OldSchool ...You've probably been there but if not, it's PJ's. You definitely need to try it.

Yep. First time I've been there. We got a house a couple blocks away. Definitely going to be going back.

A 3 egg Benedict with thin sliced ham, spinach, on a sliced croissant. Red potatoes and onions on the side. Really good!

If you're ever in Reno, PJs is a must stop for breakfast.
I actually just visited PJ's website (breakfast is one of my three favorite meals); and saw a great photo of corned beef hash and eggs, with a side of biscuit and gravy.

I wept.

Their corned beef is really good too. My wife got that.

That’s a lot of grub on the plate. You yanks now how to do portions I’ll give you that. Surely you were more or less done for food for the rest of the day?

I made a giant cauldron of my smoked chicken tortilla soup on Sunday. I smoke 2 whole chickens beer can style and that goes into my soup. It takes me all day to make it and I make a lot so that I can freeze some to eat later.

Not to pat myself on the back too much... but I feel confident that this is some of the finest chicken tortilla soup anyone could ever hope to eat.

I warmed some of it up last night and sent this pic to one of my sons trying to get his attention. This is one of his favorite foods.

I toast real corn tortillas and cut them into stripes that I add into each bowl of soup. It really doesn't need anything else, but I top my bowl with some fresh avacado, tomato, scallions, fresh hot peppers and fresh cilantro. I skip the cheese topping on this but others in my fam add that too as well as sour cream.

Holy shit that looks good.

Speaking of food, I'm going to my brother's house for Christmas (and I will get photos of the food), and the last time I went, we ordered out Chinese. I had two eggrolls and a shrimp vegetable meal, and oh my goodness, it was delicious. The shrimp and veggies were smothered in a sweet sauce that made even the mushrooms tasty - and I never eat mushrooms normally.

Looks good but you’ve got to get rid of the sweetcorn please. Disgusting stuff.

What corn do you like, out of curiosity? All corn is pretty much sweet.
