This isn't good. There is no way they can limp into the season with banged up RBs and with Hollins and Lewis on the edges. They will have to consider Jonah Williams at 5T. He has the size, strength and speed to play the position.

With their limited cap it will be hard to make a move to bring in an impact player to play the edge position. If Floyd's injury persists they may not have an option other than seek a hired gun.

Garrett is in Minnesota now.He was a option. Whitley(PS) is a young guy I like,& Daniel Hardy is hurt as well.

The Rams have Kier Thomas who beat those guys out & is more of an edge than Williams. The Rams also have T. Lewis who was actually starting, but MOST Ram Fans really question him.

T.Lewis is an OLB. He is not a speed rusher off the edge & never has been.He is what he is & that will not change. He has a lot of different skills, but being that edge rushers is not one of them. He is quick on a delayed blitz or stunt though.Has long arms to get in the passing lanes w/ good hands for a player his size. Can cover bigger TE’s.

That’s just my breakdown as a Football Fan? I try to keep positive.
Can also say $64 million is the value The Rams gave to fill when Floyd is hurt & your 7th rd rookie that can be hit or miss on is hurt in Daniel Hardy & last years 7th rd pick got cut & is with the Vikings.

Talking about a Bears player. You can’t miss on Allen Robinson & can’t take him out of the game with poor play calling.
Tutu Atwell has to be able to make plays, but up front with no protection this players can become useless?

Watching Humphries last night against the Chargers only hurts from what a lot of us knew was a HOLE.
Never understood the Brian Allen draft pick.Center was the spot to replace him. I’m not being a hater & understand it all. Just a little VENT,because when I went to OTA’s Brian Allen was the 2nd string guard. He fought his way as a starter. Helped The Rams win a SuperBowl & got a 3 year contract which he EARNED!!
That does not take away from not address the position & having an All Pro player there.Humphries is big enough to also play guard.
You can’t teach SIZE! Shelton has earned his chance with his play last season & got a 2 year contract.
ONCE again both those players were unknown & Humphries should have been the pick by Best Available by Position. Not taking anything away from Tutu Atwell who I hope scores at least 5 TD’s.
—Excited to see a player like Cutch.
—I can go back to my Johnathan Taylor pick as well if Van Jefferson doesn’t come back soon. Then again,Cam Akers,Jefferson & t.Lewis being all injured sucks.Who ever really knows.

Is it me, of is Floyd always dinged up or battling some injury? This certainly isn't good. EDGE wasn't a good spot opposite Floyd, now if he's dinged up too, that's going to be painful for us.

Any word on the extent of the injury? I didn't hear anything injury-related about Floyd coming out of the Bills game?. It is not ideal to have players already sitting out practices with injures, but at the same time, this is the NFL, and players are always nursing some sort of ailment. Until I hear otherwise, I suspect Floyd will be playing on Sunday.

Realistically, every RB could be on these reports every day given how much of a beating they take. In fact, some of them are. D'Andre Swift, for example.

Floyd was a non factor last week. His replacement should be able to produce better even if it is just slightly.

The year certainly isn't starting out like we had expected. Hopefully it changes this weekend.

Rams injury report: Leonard Floyd (knee) sits out Thursday

The Los Angeles Rams held four players out of practice on Wednesday, including Joe Noteboom and Van Jefferson. Brian Allen and Matthew Orzech were the other two who missed practice, with Leonard Floyd also being limited to start the week.

On Thursday, the prognosis didn’t improve much at all. It’s encouraging that Noteboom was able to return to practice on a limited basis, but Floyd’s outlook got even bleaker.

Floyd went from being limited Wednesday to sitting out Thursday’s practice due to a knee injury. Allen, Jefferson and Orzech all missed practice for the second straight day, as well.
Below is the full injury report, which includes just one Falcon: Damien Williams, who missed practice again.

The Rams will release game statuses after practice on Friday, and Sean McVay will also meet with the media to provide an update on Floyd.

If Floyd can’t play, Justin Hollins and Terrell Lewis would presumably be the starting edge rushers.

Ouch.

The boys better be ready to play on Sunday regardless of who is starting. Atlanta has some fire power. I would admittedly love to see what Lewis looks like getting a full compliment of reps, assuming his knee can handle it.:injury:

Floyd being out for an extended length of time beyond a game or 2 is concerning.
Our QB pressure from the Edge is pretty limited at times. Floyd is best when he has a strong rusher opposite him and would really be at his best if we had another edge who was a pass-rushing specialist, as we saw with Von. The defense benefits greatly when both edges can bring pressure, and Floyd benefits when he is complimented by an edge rusher of at least his equal. Our back end will not hold up to great QB's playing our system, pressure isn't a luxury it is a must

Hopefully he’s okay and this was just a rest day, but if he can’t go I’ll be interested in seeing what Keir Thomas brings to the table.

That read option they run with Mariota and Patterson beat up the Saints defense week one. So this is poor timing to lose Floyd.

If Floyd has to miss a game, this is a good game to miss.

Our roster is superior. We are beating Atlanta either way. (y)

Damn guess we’re banking up on injuries now considering our roster wasn’t as banged up last season winning the Super Bowl. Oh well, hope the next man up does a reliable job

Floyd dealing with any kind of leg injury issue is bad news for the pass rush.
He's great at setting the edge.. but needs every bit of speed and explosiveness in him to get to the QB.
Suboptimal

I heard a rumor (friend of a friend) that Kevin Cardberry pounded the table for Humphries-- but overruled by McVay and Snead.

Sadly part of the dreaded "Superbowl hangover" is unfairly labeled that because it put the onus solely on players performance. It's should be labeled "Superbowl Curse" as it's not always about the the ayers performance that's just the media doing a shit job and looking for that narrative to hate or pick apart a winner. The curse seems to hit by taking key players out to I just then then it can combine with underperforming because your missing those key players. The media leaves that part out conveniently they just need to take success down a bit. See Tampa look at the injuries last year for them. This has been a trend since I could remember it's usually what derails a champion. Sure sometimes players may lose the hunger but typically injuries are what destroys a potential repeat team. Even the runner ups a lot of times as well

My take is that all that extra football takes it's toll on the body and ultimately affects said teams the following season. Let's hope the Rams get more luck and some help and maybe someone emerges fresh faced and can help carry some of the injured back to the Superbowl.
