If Higbee has another shit game I'd also consider him as trade bait.
And replace him with who? We have one other TE who has been useful in one game in three years and a practice squad fullback convert. I'm scare to death of losing Higbee.

Lol - the Rams won a SuperBowl without Higbee & that backup made some nice catches. How scared can you be ? - blue font

I agree with you. The poster is out of his mind if you asked me,but then again who am I to judge.

Truth is Higbee just restructured his contract for The Rams ? Havenstien just resigned to Oldbutnotdeads delight.

I think we all should eat some Campbell Soup to let our bellies soothe a little after that Horrible defeat. Von Miller looks better in a Rams Uniform,if your a Rams fan. Going against Noteboom & company, maybe Higbee should have been put on the left side more.

The Rams are pretty insistent on running with 11 Personnel, and yes it's a risk of sorts, but promoting Hopkins and Carter gives us a TE receiver & a blocker. It's not like we would be just giving Higbee away, it really comes down to what improvements our team receives by way of trade and if it's another player who can start and make us better right away. Higbee's CAP coming off the books may also allow us to pay for additional talent. jmo.

That's a scary proposition for me. I appreciate what he did for us in the SB but I need to see a LOT more from Hopkins before I consider him an option we can rely on full time. I do want to see more from Carter and hope we can keep him to develop long term. Would like to see him used as a FB/TE option in the run game.

That would leave the Rams with Brycen Hopkins and two Practice Squad TEs; plus, Higbee just restructured for cap space. According to Spotrac, Higbee's current cap-hit is down to $4.25M, but he carries $7.6M of Dead-$ if moved. If correct, trading Higbee would cost the Rams $3.2M of cap space.

Again, any trade would require someone who can come in and help our team immediately, just at another position other than TE. Teams can also pick up salary concerns where players are traded, so that's not a current worry, freeing up CAP for 2023 is just as important as for this season.
I was jumping in on a hypothetical theory where the Jags offered RB James Robinson & OLB Josh Allen, a Rams poster offered Atwell, Rapp & future high draft picks to make it happen. The Jags will likely lose their TE1 to free agency after this season, so I added Higbee to increase our chances.
Allen carries an $11.5M CAP hit in 2023, that can be partially off-set by Higbee next year. I''m not sure what if any value Atwell adds as he hasn't done anything yet, although Trevor Lawrence could use additional receiving targets, I'm also not sure how much Rapp adds to a trade, but Higbee does give the Jags some security for 2023.
Anyway, an Allen/Robinson trade to the Rams appears a nice idea, although if we expect the Jags to be interested, I'd sacrifice a bit more with Higbee, a draft pick and Atwell if they wanted him. jmo.

Sadly part of the dreaded "Superbowl hangover" is unfairly labeled that because it put the onus solely on players performance. It's should be labeled "Superbowl Curse" as it's not always about the the ayers performance that's just the media doing a shit job and looking for that narrative to hate or pick apart a winner. The curse seems to hit by taking key players out to I just then then it can combine with underperforming because your missing those key players. The media leaves that part out conveniently they just need to take success down a bit. See Tampa look at the injuries last year for them. This has been a trend since I could remember it's usually what derails a champion. Sure sometimes players may lose the hunger but typically injuries are what destroys a potential repeat team. Even the runner ups a lot of times as well

My take is that all that extra football takes it's toll on the body and ultimately affects said teams the following season. Let's hope the Rams get more luck and some help and maybe someone emerges fresh faced and can help carry some of the injured back to the Superbowl.

If it's a curse, I'd gladly take that curse every couple of years. :)

It's time to turn Rookie ER Keir Thomas loose on the Falcons if Floyd is not healthy.

Sean McVay has contingency plans in place if Leonard Floyd cannot play vs. Falcons

I hope so.

They need to prioritize run stuffing with their front this week. Mariota is a shitty QB unless you allow him to read option your ass down the field. In which case he becomes dangerous. Patterson is the main threat, the guy is a nightmare for DBs to bring down. So putting them into some third and longs is going to be important, otherwise we'll need to endure him dragging dudes for first downs all day long.

The good thing is the Falcons defense is shit. So I think for this to be a loss we would need a poor outing by the offense as well as the defense to get run all over. Which seems unlikely.

But I am worried about stuffing the run in this one.

I can play, the QB and RB need to run right at me, and I need whatever padding they can give, along with lots of stuckum for my hands, and smelling salts after every play.

Yeah ... but you're going to want a fully guaranteed contract ... aren't you?

I would do all-of-the-above just for access to the post-game- buffet. Provided I could bring tupper-ware.

Sure but as you can see our heads still spin after a loss but that's just fandom it's the media that makes me throw up. Wouldn't be cool to just have a job where you take whatever topic you wants and just babble on an on to make it fit your narrative for reactions without breaking a sweat and getting paid well and if all goes well extreme notarity leading to an even bigger paycheck.

And why is it that making that kind of living is possible?

Yes. Josh Allen/James Robinson for Tutu/Rapp/Future First round and Third round picks.

I'd love that. The Jaguars wouldn't. We'd probably have to do something like Jefferson, Akers and Lewis/Hollins, along with two firsts and a third, if we're dealing for Robinson and Allen. Personally, I'd still do it, but not without hesitance.

I concur, let's see what he has.
We either have an in house player as a solution we can develop or we need to look outside. neither Hollins nor T Lew are 3rd down get to the QB specialists for say
