It's starting to look like the Rams won't have the outrageous cap space some articles are showing. Snead seems to be much more reserved about restructuring contracts. Ad and Stafford will get big raises. Too bad we will have to wait for news as we get closer to free agency.

On Offense

OBJ-Since he has to rehab and will be out at least until Nov the Rams have a good chance of resigning him to a one-year incentive deal. Looking forward to seeing Kupp, Woods, and OBJ on the field at the same time.

The offensive Line-This has been a big topic here. It's very hard to know which direction the Rams will go in. I would try to get Joe Noteboom resigned. I stated before that he may want to stay and a three-year deal could be possible. He has shown the ability to pass protect Stafford's blindside. He should get a little stronger in the run game. He has had some injury but, that's why the Rams have options like AJ Jackson and Edwards. Without JN the depth gets much weaker. They also have to be prepared for the possibility they lose RT Rob Havenstein after 2022.

If the Rams keep JN then they will most likely have to sacrifice OC Allen and RG Corbett. I hope Corbin Shelton is up to the task of taking over OC. He has support from McVay and ROD. Tremayne Anchum Jr as mentioned could be moved to RG or a draft pick. Rams earliest pick is late in round 3. Snead and McVay will search for a solid option at RG.

There are lots of decisions that have to be made. It looks to me that the Rams will have to count on young TEs to step up as they did in the playoffs. Hopkins and Blanton will get a bigger look in 2022. The Rams will roll with Akers and Henderson but, need a third RB to take over for Michel. For 2022 on offense it's about signing OBJ and getting the offensive line settled.

On Defense

Von Miller-captain obvious says he is a top priority but, if the Rams can't resign him they have to have another plan.

It seems Justin Hollins would be a reasonable resigning. Looking at Arden Key or Donte Fowler to be used as pass rushers. I'm open to suggestions as AD and LF are much more effective with another pass rusher. I just looked up T-Lew being out against the Hags late in the year was reported as a back injury. The good news is it wasn't his knee. I still have hope he can contribute but, we don't know about his health moving forward. Chris Garrett is a wild card coming from a small school that had a setback with Covid early in the year. He is someone to watch out for in 2022 with great potential.

A'Shaun Robinson aka The Big A/Greg Gains-Both are candidates for extensions. Too bad it looks like the Rams will have trouble extending both but, I hope at least one gets done. Morris said Robinson was the best player in the SB.

Overall the defense doesn't have a lot of needs should the young CBs step up and Von Miller is resigned. Another CB and ILber are needed.

What's this whole thing mean?
Teams carry over unused very from one year to the next. In addition, any incentives that were considered not likely to be met that did actually get met (stay as those for the super bowl) last year would be applied to this year. Base cap, plus unused cap minus incentives is "adjusted cap". We have the smallest.

So, is that good or bad?

How nice for you

No matter how plugged up someone is Chit happens & there’s no real way around it.A straight shot up the hole can help root it out.
I cheered for Von Miller as a Ram & will continue to cheer for him more than I did when he was a Bronco. He is such a good player on & off the field. I appreciate his person & his fun loving style that isn’t afraid to give back to the community.
We as Ram Fans will forever for Von Miller however chit happens.

I don’t want to get involved in a bidding war for Von Miller. He is turning 33 in a couple of weeks.

I want him back, but not liking what I am reading in those snips.
I'm not worried, Rams will make the right decision here and if Miller gets too expensive, oh well, Dante Fowler is sitting out there too.

It should be to no surprise that he's going to commodity IF we don't get him extended before F/A. I could break that news as Josina Anderson said.

Green Bay Packers among 4 teams reportedly interested in Von Miller signing

Von Miller is hitting NFL free agency at the perfect time, coming off an MVP-caliber performance in the Super Bowl and with a prime opportunity to cash in one last time. Unsurprisingly, he’s generating plenty of interest across the league.

The 6-foot-3 edge rusher played at an elite level following his trade to the Los Angeles Rams. He recorded 8 quarterback hits and 5 sacks in the regular season with Los Angeles, then tacked on 6 tackles for loss and 4 sacks during their Super Bowl run.

  • Von Miller career stats: 233 quarterback hits, 127 tackles for loss, 115.5 sacks
Entering his age-33 season, Miller will be hitting the open market for the first time in his career. While there’s a desire to run it back with the Rams, the future Hall of Famer is keeping his options open this offseason.

According to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, the Rams will be met with competition to sign Miller from the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos. It’s also very likely that other teams get involved.

The Chargers might be the team in the best position to challenge the Rams. They are among the leaders in NFL salary cap space and could put Miller on the opposite side of Joey Bosa. With Justin Herbert at quarterback, the Chargers will be a darkhorse Super Bowl contender.

A return to Denver might depend on their quarterback situation. If the franchise lands Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson, Miller could head back to the team that drafted him with a shot at winning another Super Bowl. As for the Packers, it would require Miller to take a team-friendly contract considering Green Bay is well over the salary cap.

Here is the issue, the NFC has a better path to the Super Bowl Von, and nobody truly wants to play in Green Bay...Freezing the Reason!
