So, on this was Evans just acting like he was supposed to let the inside guy go so that we all wouldn't think he was supposed to block the inside guy...or was there supposed to be help on the inside and he was supposed to help outside?

Don't know enough to know for sure but wondering...

It looks like maybe he was expecting help from Allen, but his effort and technique were so piss poor that Allen didn't have a chance. Allen at least made some effort there. Pathetic effort (if you can even call it that) by Evans.

Crap sign Eric Fisher if he’s still up for playing

Sometimes you gotta wonder. How many times have we seen players play well in their contract year? A lot. Evans might have played himself out of a chance for a contract with someone else next year.

That play it did look like he was supposed to pass the rusher on to the center. But he gave no resistance whatsoever. He's gotta give the guy a good shot so the center has a chance to get over and block him. Hell, at least fall down in front of him since you had no one else to block.

That play looks as awful in that still-shot after the fact as it did live on the replays, but I recall reading somewhere that Evans was indeed supposed to pass off his man to the centre on that play. Can anyone with o-line expertise chime in?
I'm not chiming in as an expert but my opinion is that would be correct just based on how Allen moved that way. But Evans literally takes like half a step at best to get in Vea's way and puts no effort towards him whatsoever despite literally no one else being in front of him. In my amateur opinion I'd say he should have at least taken a couple steps backwards to counter Vea's movement like most pass blocking calls for to let Allen get position to take him. By the time Allen chips the first guy Vea is past him because Evans gives literally no effort to help. It's just baffling. And him just standing there like a fart in the wind is so embarrassing.

If your offensive line doesn't have the strength and speed to open a freaking hole to get a 1st down that will win the game then you are going to lose more games than you win.
We have three O-Line starters out on IR. Until they come back healthy the Rams are going to suck on offense.
That's just the truth. The offensive and defensive linemen are the most important positions on the field.

Keep your chin up, Bobby Evans.

Dude is getting destroyed everywhere on social media, gotta be tough.

From Rodrigue yesterday:

Still, several Rams players lingered in that cramped visiting locker room postgame, some with their heads in their hands, and others — such as left guard Bobby Evans— visibly distraught. Evans, a reserve guard for the Rams, gave up three sacks on Sunday and took the blame for them, his eyes rimmed red with emotion."I gotta do better,” he said, his voice cracking. “I know there are some technical things I need to do better. I let the quarterback get hit a couple of times. … This one is tough, because I just feel like I let down a bunch of people.”

You feel that way because you fucking DID!!!

Sorry if being bad at your elite level job has you down in the dumps but I hear they’re hiring at the post office.

Get good or move the fuck on. The NFL has too much at stake for anyone to have the time to “work shit out”. In that way, it’s not like regular life and jobs.

Not remotely sorry. We have one of the three best defenders to ever do it and we’re 3-5 because of OL injuries and backups that aren’t good enough to be backups. And yea, that’s on McSnead. But dang if Evans isn’t just historically bad…

I remember I used to complain about Leo Goeas in the 90's and Goeas was head & shoulders above Evans.
I am really shocked they keep playing him, Brewer to RG good move and again, why Evans? This staff was able to identify that Jamal Demby didn't have it, however, with Bobby Evans they seem to have their blinders on.

I concur with @Mackeyser Evans should feel bad and I'm glad he's recognizing that, but the Coaching Staff should not be putting him on the field, nor, should he had made the team. There are much better options and this is hard to fathom.

If Evans was fired, I don't think a single NFL team would pick him up for their practice squad. Maybe he could crack the USFL's practice squad, if they had them.
