IMO, this is bad, Weddle was slow in 2019, I'm sure he's slower in 2022. Can somebody tell me what Antoine Brooks is doing? He's a Safety that has been on the roster the whole year. They have let others go, who could have filled in better IMO. Shameful and certain coaches should be held accountable.

Isn't it time for Burgess to step up? And Rochel?
This signing tells us a lot about what the Rams think of their depth.

All season long we have had shit production next to Fuller. Whether it's Rapp or Scott or whoever none of these guys have any sort of feel in coverage. So subtracting Fuller is just an enormous loss. He was the guy holding shit together back there. There's a good chance these guys shit the bed now on the back end.

Yeah I’m not so sure either but I will side with the organization over Internet posters.

We don’t have Rapp right now either until he clears concussion protocols.

Only positive I can think of with the lack of depth at safety, Burgess should finally get a lot of PT. He made a huge tackle in last game. I'm hoping to see the spark I saw in him from last year.

Den I don't think they have one guy back there on the depth chart who can...

1. Call the defense.
2. Serve as a lynchpin on the back end.

Weddle was shitty in space before his retirement so I don't think he moves the bar on #2. But he should be able to call the defense so that guys like Ramsey don't have to do it. Ramsey just needs to focus on erasing one threat per snap. Just do that well 5.

I think this signing demonstrates everything went to shit in that secondary the moment 4 went out of the game. It was a leadership void.

Can't debate you there brother, although I wish they had not released Hughes.
Yeah, Snead really F'ed up trying to sneak Hughes on our practice squad at the end of the season. Not that he's been great but I'd trust him more than a multi-year retired player who was seriously on the decline before he retired. Weddle played in Phillips defense too so verbiage and scheme isn't even the same for him to jump into. So I can't see him calling plays with no time in the system.

When I saw Fuller go out that was the worst I felt that game because I knew it was going to be a serious issue if he is out. I'm getting heart burn just thinking about this now. bleh.

Okay and I also understand that Jones, who called the signals too is out, but come on, you should have others in place that can call the defensive signals. Weddle's going to start? That's just ludicrous IMHO and coaches need to be held accountable.

Also, feel bad for Juju now. Unkown to him, dude was about to get his chance, an audition on a prime time playoff team to show what he's got for the entire NFL and Detroit snatches him to sit and think about being on the Lions all offseason.
