Was really skeptical of this one, really glad how it turned out, wish he was 5 years younger, so we could get him full speed for a season. Good job Wed's, eat your ice cream my friend!

Weedle is & has been Classic.

Dudes a HOF player.Clay Matthews got cut & didn’t want to take less money.
The Rams(Demoff) pays there players top dollar & are always about the coaches & players first. We can go down the list of players under & Mcvay & Les Snead.

What a TEAM LEADER he is. Jalen RAMsey got mad at him at first. These guys just play(ball). It’s funny how Raheem Morris was the guy who called him up & goes from a friendship they had when he was in the draft combine.

Burgees played at Utah as well & Weedle kept in touch with him through his draft process. These relationship are real.Mcvay is a players coach. Big Whit is almost 4 years older than him. Weedle though talked to Mcvay about Burgees & a reason he was a Ram.
I won’t tell you it was the same with Nick Scott but The Rams selected 3 DB’s in 2019. Eric Weedle was huge in all 3 players development.Tyler Rapp,David Long, & Nick Scott.
It’s funny how much better David Long has played when Eric Weedle was his teammate. The last year in a half he seemed to have regressed. His rookie season I thought his development was going to be huge.Maybe that is just my imagination?
Nick Scott though was a running back from Penn St.The mentoring Eric Weedle helped him & John Johnson was a lot.Troy Hill really stepped up in 2020.
I though when Eric Weedle retired it was the right thing to do.The Rams had solid depth & he had slowed down.He wanted to go out on TOP.Once again we can go & look at that Niner game & say what could have been in 2019.I know Les Snead lived that squad & the level the defense was playing at.Jimmy G did it again.
I think it is awesome to see & just glad he has a chance to win a SuperBowl again.
Raheem Morris talks about the DB’s like a 5 on 5 picked basketball team. You hold court & stay on. Sometimes you come on the court & your still trying to figure out who is on your team.
It’s so COOL that Eric Weedle was staying in shape playing 5 on 5 BBall.

Safety is played more between the ears than it is under the neck. It takes both - but I’d rather have elite diagnostics than elite atheleticism at this point if I had to choose.

I hope people who still held animosity to Weddle to what they perceived as him being a bad teammate are over it.

Just amazing that this guy has made such a huge, huge contribution.

I hope Fuller is around to pick his brain while Weddle is around.

I was completely wrong about him. He has been an absolute stud! My apologies.

I am very, VERY curious how much of an impact he's had on Scott.

Is it coincidence or causation that the absolute best football we've seen out of Scott has been the last three games?? Maybe it all just clicked.. but it's interesting timing.

I agree. And the impact he's on the Defense. It's absolutely flipped since he's been here.

Future Rams coach?

Weddle and Scott have definitely changed the way this defense looks on the back in. I kind of hope Scott is playing himself into a starting role next season. Rapp only has one year left and if we were to release him we'd save $2.5 million in cap space.... just food for thought.

It may be oversimplification, but he may have won that game yesterday.

After we pulled to 14-17, the 9ers were cutting through us like butter, and got to midfield and got 9 yards in their next first down. I thought this was the end. I’ve seen this story play out too many times…

But Weddle stuffs the next play, the Rams get fired up and stop the next one (infamous misused challenge play on 4th), then we get the punt and two more FGs to go to the SB.

All is forgiven, Raven lover!

He has been so good that I would bring him back next year at the age of 38 if he is interested in playing a depth and mentorship role! But I doubt he is, having already retired. You have to think he would be reasonably affordable though.

Well weddle was on the team before and Scott hadn’t looked good then. I think he’s just a late bloomer. As a die hard Penn state fan, nick Scott was never really anything special in college either as a safety. Really think all that hard work that he’s about is just finally paying off

That was two full years ago when Scott barely played as a safety.
I'm talking about a jump in performance within this season.

I'll eat some nice Kentucky fried crow on Weddle. He really has made a major impact on the field and in the locker room. Mmm...crow.

You weren't wrong to be concerned tbh. When he joined us the other year he had one foot out the door and after that concussion you could see he was going out of his way to not stick his head in there or sellout the body to make stops.

But this guy, the one who has had some time to roast on that retirement track, is a different beast altogether. This Weddle is playing with reckless abandon. We're getting all he has.

And it's beautiful. Very thankful that the Rams brought him back because for one thing I've always been a fan of his, but also because after losing Fuller to have this guy step in as well as Scott to keep this secondary in games has been I don't want to say a miracle but it's been a bit miraculous. Strength of the Rams defense is the defensive front, but right now we're getting good balanced games from the unit as a whole in large part to the depth getting it done at safety.

When I saw him stuff that run on 3rd and short late in the game I said holy shit! This acquisition has paid off so far. Weddle wasn't lying when he said he's been going over films and studying. And at his age making these tackles look easy against a strong running opponent. It's just another interesting chapter of this crazy storybook stuff.

Yeah it really is storybook stuff. If the Rams pull this off I have to think it's gonna be a movie at some point for that reason. What a time to be a Rams fan eh?
