Remember last year after they played Dallas, he went into the Cowboys locker room and didn't he talk to Garret about playing there this year? He didn't want to be in Seattle at all this season. As a coach, I would think the cancer created by that type of situation would supersede any talent he might have. I'm surprised Carroll put up with that. I'm sure they're wishing they would have traded him at this point. So now does he becomes a free agent and goes where he wants with Seattle getting nothing in return?

I am not surprised at all. Pete has always run his team's with a light hand. He tries to use motivation and self -empowerment as his main tools. It usually works for a few years, then it falls apart with players getting out of control. Even grown men need discipline and structure to succeed as a team. Pete's hands off approach eventually fails.

I didn’t see the move in context, so I don’t want to pile on. Wish him the best in recovery.

Hope Pete choked on his gum, and some big fat security woman had to perform the hymlick maneuver on him.

No matter what kind of contract a player signs there is always going to be something they're unhappy about though so fans have honestly gotten to the point they don't care about the complaints. If it's a 2 or 3 year deal it's not enough long term security. If it's a 4 5 or 6 year deal in that last year they're going to complain that they're not offered an extension yet. In the end fans, at least this one, is just tired of all the complaining. He signed the deal. He through his agents gave the Seahawks his demands for an extension. The team didn't agree, yet we don't know what he wanted but we're supposed to side with him without more info? The safety market as we saw this off season isn't what it was when he signed his last deal making him the highest paid safety in the game. He's played 9 years and made over $50 million, hard for a regular Joe to feel bad for the guy.

The safety market was that way because Eric Reid the nfl didn’t want it to seem like they was black balling Eric Reid like they did Kaepernick so they basically didn’t give anyone anything but now that Reid is back and on a team I bet the safety market pick up again especially with teams scoring the way they are.

Back to your other point contracts work both ways teams milk a guy for all his talent all his prime years they sign him to a long term contract then cut or trade him in the middle of it. So me as a fan knowing it’s buisness why do everyone get mad at the players but never the team lol because most people think it’s entitled black people they should be grateful for making millions for playing a game. Never mind that these guys have been honing their skills longer than doctors and only want to see all that hard work paid off.

Well, this is his third major injury.

And he will be a FA next year so he can find another contract. He'll get paid so it's not like he is getting screwed over and not seeing the checks from the contract he signed.

What does he expect at nearly 30 and having two breaks in the same leg and shoulder surgery over the last few years.

He got every dollar of his contract didn't he?

Sorry the race element of that is utter horse shit and I'm insulted that you would throw that at my comment. I don't usually give an inappropriate rating but this deserves it.

Simple fact is I'm a Rams fan first and foremost. I root for the team. If a Rams player that I cheered on for years leaves the team best of luck to them but I no longer root for them I root for the Rams.

Another armchair badass...

Thomas is one of the best safeties ever and he would absolutely take your head off.

Completely off subject but......being a man, or a wuss has absolutely nothing to do with physical stature. Just saying.

Lol bro why you getting mad that wasn’t directed at you but let’s pretend that’s not the consensus thought of how they as professional athletes get viewed

Just an FYI there is some of that involved and I have heard people say it out loud.

In no way am I stating you feel that way, or in any way even hinting that because I've posted with you long enough to know thats not you.

But there are a certain percentage of people who feel that way.

When the NBA lockout happened a few years back a couple of coworkers of mine said some things I wouldn't have thought they felt. Actually one didn't surprise me all that much because of another comment he had made.

Look. No one is saying what you pointed at doesn’t happen. But bringing race into this discussion is completely inappropriate IMO. Regardless of if you mean it or not, you are essentially hinting that race is part of the reason members here might disagree with you. Not cool.

Let me clear something up/ I don’t know any of you guys personally therefore I’m not here to say who don’t like what segment of the population I don’t care about your political reference none of that too me all of are already a part of the select few people I do like cause we’re Rams fans. I thought this was a discussion statements was made by numerous posters statements that are always made when it’s about certain segment of people and their profession. I didn’t get offended and start calling people out, because this isn’t personal so I don’t get why so many of you are taking what I said personally when for 1 I was talking in general and for 2 because it’s a True statement rather it’s how you feel or not.

Things can't get much worse for the Hags. With the finger pointing I almost lost the fact that Thomas will be out of the lineup for the Rams. They will miss him and the Rams will take advantage of his absence.

It is a tough call on the contract. I can see both sides. Hags should have traded him. I can't see them paying him big money while they rebuild.
