Les, what's with the chill? Sorry to say, it's historical.

But not current.

Beating up and hanging black people is also historical. Also historical is women not having the right to vote, an Amendment to our Constitution though changed that.

I could go on but won't.

.

he will be pleased it's only a break and no ligament damage. now he can sit back and relax and not worry about getting a more serious injury. and collect all his money.

then make some more in free agency next year.

worked out quite well for him in my view.

.

Another big injury in that game was to TE Will Dissly who has been playing really well for them this season. A patellar knee injury.

When asked about the Earl Thomas gesture Pete Carroll said "It's a big stadium."

WTF does that have to do with anything being discussed?

Are you jealous and butthurt that he makes millions?

I just think flipping off your team that you built a nice career around seems a little petty. Do you think giving the bird is a classy move?

I am glad he is living the American Dream. We are birds of a feather. Millions is nice to have.

Of course. I want the Rams to wear out the Hawks like a Phillapina hooker after the a Carrier Battle Group arrives in Subic Bay for holiday...

My dad served at Subic Bay... the stories...

Also, if I had a choice between Earl Thomas and Joyner...it’s not close.

I’d be seriously running some simulations on contracts...

Lol y’all talking about ungrateful but forget this is the reason why these guys hold out this injury just cost him tens of millions more on a new contract for the last almost decade this guy has been the Best safety in the game and the team didn’t want to give him a long term contract that’s why I would never be mad at a player for holding out to get what they deserve cause any given day any given play it could always be their last
No matter what kind of contract a player signs there is always going to be something they're unhappy about though so fans have honestly gotten to the point they don't care about the complaints. If it's a 2 or 3 year deal it's not enough long term security. If it's a 4 5 or 6 year deal in that last year they're going to complain that they're not offered an extension yet. In the end fans, at least this one, is just tired of all the complaining. He signed the deal. He through his agents gave the Seahawks his demands for an extension. The team didn't agree, yet we don't know what he wanted but we're supposed to side with him without more info? The safety market as we saw this off season isn't what it was when he signed his last deal making him the highest paid safety in the game. He's played 9 years and made over $50 million, hard for a regular Joe to feel bad for the guy.

HAHAHHAHA

THIS is gonna fuck this team for the next decade, more than any other mistake Carroll and the Shecocks could have make.

From now on - any player wondering whether or not the Seahawks will have their backs will be reminded of how they treated their HOF Safety Earl Thomas

Giving the bird to your own bench is a death knell

This is why the Rams and KEVIN FREAKIN' DEMOFF are such class acts -- we may forget how they handled the the likes of Bud Sasser but nobody who's played the game will

Thomas is under contract with a long term extension that he willingly signed, seeking security for that period. The Seahawks had no obligation to sign him to a second extension, or to trade him to a team that would do so. They wanted him to honor his contract with all the guaranteed money he had earned. They were willing to trade him - if what they considered a fair offer came back. But that would require a third or fourth rounder, PLUS the value they expected from Thomas playing one more year for them, with a good faith effort by Thomas to honor his contract. This he didn't do.

I think most players when it comes down to it recognize that. I doubt there are any long term ramifications from Thomas' tantrum.

Lots of good points. I guess I'm don't have a problem with him being mad and I don't have a problem with management holding firm. I feel like those two things can co-exist without one being right or wrong.

Just like I can feel bad for Thomas getting injured but delighted that the Seahawks suck.

I think it's crazy that a team cant sign its franchise player to an extension until after the season
