Man sets underwear on fire while passed out in Walmart bathroom
BY KENNY OCKER

A drunken man with a lit cigarette passed out on the toilet in a Spanaway, Washington Walmart bathroom and caught his underwear on fire Monday, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Firefighters were dispatched to the store at 20307 Mountain Highway E. about 6:30 p.m. after fire alarms went off, Central Pierce spokesman Brian Levings said Wednesday.

They went to the store and found the bathroom filled with smoke.

As the man sat on the toilet, drawers down, he fell asleep, and ash from his cigarette fell between his legs and ignited his underwear, Levings said.

The man slept through all this, Levings added.

“One of our guys actually used a dry chemical extinguisher to put out his pants while they were on him,” Levings said.

That roused the man, who pulled a knife on the firefighters, Levings said.

“Our guys escorted him to the floor and began to tend to his injuries,” he said.

The man had burns to his legs and was taken to the hospital. He was released that night.

I'm shocked that something like this could happen in a Walmart. :ROFLMAO:

The dumbasses of the day are the ones who actually fork over $425 to buy these jeans.

Nordstrom took the distressed look too far. The chain of luxury department stores is selling men’s jeans covered with “a crackled, caked-on muddy coating.”

The Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans, made in Portugal, are priced at $425.

Yes, denim with fake mud retailing for more than some 40-inch TVs.

The product description says the jeans “embody rugged” and shows “you’re not afraid to get down and dirty.”

Except people buying them probably are afraid to get dirty or else they would simply clean their gutters or garden, and not have to worry about buying $425 jeans.

Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs had a few choice words about the item.

“The Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans aren’t pants,” Rowe said on Facebook. “They’re not even fashion. They’re a costume for wealthy people who see work as ironic — not iconic.”

This isn't the only Nordstrom product that's recently missed the mark. This year, the chain also came under fire for selling $1,190 Gucci "sock sandals" and $95 "Mom jeans."

And so it begins: The war against robots led off by a dumbass.

Man arrested for ‘assaulting’ a robot, which called the police itself

POLICE have charged a man who drunkenly attacked a robotic patrol droid in a car park in the United States, after the device called them for help.

The incident occurred in the car park of technology maker Knightscope’s headquarters in Mountain View, California on April 19, authorities said.

Jason Sylvain, 41, was intoxicated when he came across the K5 droid, which was conducting patrols around the building as part of product testing.

Despite the robot weighing in at a whopping 135 kilograms, he managed to tip it over.

It detected the danger and automatically alerted authorities to an intruder on the property, before sounding a loud siren.

Sylvain attempted to flee but was detained by two employees who’d heard the robot’s distress alarm.

Knightscope’s vice president of marketing Stacy Dean Stephens told CNET the machine did exactly what it was designed to do.

“The ‘assault’ was detected and immediately reported,” Mr Stephens said.

“The alarms on the robot sounded, the suspect attempted to flee the scene and was detained by one of my colleagues and me until the Mountain View Police arrived.”

Sylvain now faces prowling and public intoxication charges.

It’s not the first time an independently operating robot has faced trouble in the real world.

A droid that set out to hitchhike across the US lasted two weeks before it was brutally vandalised in Philadelphia in 2015.

And a robotic shop assistant in Japan was kicked by a drunken man in the same year.

Florida woman grabs ax after spotting Match.com on man’s computer
Olivia Hitchcock/Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

GREENACRES - Enraged from seeing the dating website Match.com on a man’s computer last week, Lucy Melesky reportedly grabbed a mounted ax off the mantel and smashed it on the ground.

Melesky slung the ax over her shoulder and screamed at the man about the alleged unfaithfulness, he told Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies.

Melesky, 45, was arrested the evening of April 18 on charges of battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her relationship with the man is redacted in the arrest report, as is the location of the incident. However, Melesky told authorities she lives west of Greenacres. She also said she works as an EMT.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home that Tuesday afternoon, Melesky was speeding off in a car, records state. Authorities pulled her over at a Sunoco gas station at the corner of Ohio and Lake Worth roads, about a half mile from where she told them she lived.

Melesky was convinced the man was trying to meet other women through Match.com, the man told authorities.

The man ran to a bathroom after Melesky grabbed the ax, but the woman followed, he said. She reportedly pushed him into a bathtub, held him down and shoved her cellphone in his face, displaying messages she’d reportedly found on the dating site between the man and another woman.

Melesky was released last week from the Palm Beach County Jail under supervision. A judge ordered Melesky not consume either alcohol or illegal drugs and undergo random testing. She cannot possess weapons nor can she have contact with the man, except by phone.

Man who mowed lawn with tornado behind him says he 'was keeping an eye on it.'
The Canadian Press

THREE HILLS, Alta. — A photo of a man in Alberta mowing a lawn with a tornado swirling behind him has been causing a storm on social media.

Cecilia Wessels snapped the picture of her husband, Theunis, on Friday evening as the twister passed near their home in Three Hills.

She said cutting the grass was on her husband's to-do list, and as he started the task, she went for a nap.

Wessels said she was woken by her nine-year-old daughter who was upset that there was something like a tornado in the sky, but her father wouldn't come inside.

Theunis Wessels said the tornado was actually much further away than it appears in the photo, and that it was moving away from them.

There have been no reports of injuries from the tornado, although some other photos show downed trees and a barn with its roof ripped off.

"I literally took the picture to show my mum and dad in South Africa, 'Look there's a tornado,' and now everyone is like, 'Why is your husband mowing the lawn?’” Cecilia Wessels said Saturday.

"Our whole street, everyone was on their back patios taking pictures," she said.

Theunis Wessels said he was keeping watch of his surroundings and saw the twister form as the swirling connected from the sky and the ground to form the funnel.

Both said tornadoes are not common in South Africa, but Theunis said he watched a TV program about storm chasers, so he's familiar with them.

The tornado moved away to the east, he said.

"It looks much closer if you look in the photo, but it was really far away. Well, not really far, far away, but it was far away from us," he said.

"I was keeping an eye on it."

This isn't funny, and is in fact sick and insane, but anyone who believes there's gold in a bald man's head is definitely a dumbass.

Bald men are being hunted down and killed in Mozambique over the belief that their heads contain gold, NPR reported. Five men have been killed, according to NPR, all in central Mozambique.

During his regular press briefing this week in Maputo, Inacio Dina, spokesman for Mozambique's general police command, said the phenomenon was new to the country. He threatened to take tough measures against those involved.

Dina accused traditional healers of conniving with the murderers of bald people because of the cultural belief that their heads contain gold. It is also possible that the goal is to obtain body parts to use in rituals aimed at bringing wealth — the reason that albinos have been targeted for their body parts in some countries.

In this man's case wouldn't home confinement be worse than capital punishment?

Kansas husband who robbed bank to avoid wife sentenced to home confinement
BY AP WIRE AND DALLAS FRANKLIN

roflbot.jpg

Wyandotte County Detention Center

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – A 70-year-old man who said he robbed a Kansas City, Kansas, bank so he could get away from his wife blamed his actions on depression.

A federal judge on Tuesday sentenced Lawrence John Ripple to home confinement and three years of supervised probation.

Ripple went to the Bank of Labor, a block from police headquarters, last September. He gave a note to a teller saying he had a gun and was demanding money. After he was given it, Ripple waited for police.

Court records indicate Ripple wrote the robbery note in front of his wife and told her he would rather be in jail than at home.

(WCMH) – According to a recent survey, seven percent of Americans believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows.

The survey was conducted by the Innovation Center of US Dairy.

In April. 1,000 adults 18 and over were asked questions about the role milk plays in their daily lives, Food & Wine reported.

The study found 48% of respondents weren’t sure where chocolate milk came from. Seven percent thought chocolate milk only comes from brown cows.

That adds up to about 16.4 million people(or 16.4 million dumbasses), more than the population of Ohio.

The Washington Post linked the study to past studies that consistently show many Americans have no idea where their food comes from. For example, a study in the 1990s found that nearly 20% of people did not know hamburgers are made from beef.
