Police: Westerly man shot corncobs at neighbor’s house
By Jason Vallee Sun staff writer

WESTERLY — A Wompag Road resident was arrested Tuesday night after the police said he fired corncobs at a neighbor’s house with a homemade potato gun.

The man, Jeffrey M. Osella, 50, of 12 Wompag Road, was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct and firing in a compact area, the police reported. He was released on bond and is scheduled for arraignment Friday in 4th Division District Court.

Officers were called to a home along Wompag Road around 7 p.m. after a neighbor reported that Osella began shooting corncobs at his house after a yelling match. The police said he used a potato gun, a PVC pipe that propels objects with a light accelerant, such as hair spray, that can be ignited by a grill lighter. Another witness told officers that Osella’s daughter was nearly hit by one of the corncobs while she was walking home.

Interim Westerly Police Chief Shawn Lacey said the two men have had disputes regularly over the course of the past 13 years. Osella’s neighbor recently listed his home for sale, according to a police report, and said he was concerned that Osella’s behavior would cause damage and reduce the value of his property or hinder a sale.

After speaking with the neighbor, police reported that they went to Osella’s home, and that he came to the door shirtless with multiple corn kernels stuck to his chest. Osella denied shooting at the neighbor, but admitted firing the potato gun toward the neighbor’s home, the police said.

He was taken into custody without further incident, police said.

Man Busted On Lewdness Charge For Wearing Saran Wrap Bikini On New Jersey Beach

stephenwojciehowski.jpg

A New Jersey man is facing a lewdness charge after fellow beachgoers spotted him wearing a “homemade, clear plasticwrap bikini, where his genitals were clearly exposed.”

Stephen Wojciehowski, 59, was arrested Monday in connection with his alleged indecent exposure earlier this month on a Long Beach Island beach.

Wojciehowski, seen at right, is free on bond in advance of court proceedings on the misdemeanor charge.

According to the Beach Haven Police Department, several witnesses reported that the suspect “spent two days on the beach” wearing the Saran bikini. The subsequent police investigation resulted in Wojciehowski’s identification and arrest.
-----------
Clarity and transparency - we need more of it!
------------
It took 2 days of exposure to arrest him? Must be the offense must have been a small one?
------------
Maybe he should have tried a zip-lock bag intstead. They tend to keep things fresher.

Pepsi Admits That Aquafina Bottled Water Is Just Tap Water

In a shocking reveal, the Pepsi corporation admitted that its Aquafina bottled water is not purified water or spring water, but simply plain old tap water. The company will now be forced to change the labeling of the brand to reflect that it is just tap water.

Many informed customers choose bottled water because they are concerned about the quality of tap water, which is many times riddled with fluoride and pharmaceuticals. Sadly, we are now learning that in many cases, bottled water is actually not any better than tap water.

Over the years, an advocacy group called, “Corporate Accountability International” has been checking the contents of bottled water and pressuring companies to stop their false advertisement.

Aquafina is actually one of the top selling water brands in the world, and may see a slide in sales as a result of these new findings.

PepsiCo representative Michelle Naughton said in a statement,
“If this helps clarify the fact that the water originates from public sources, then it’s a reasonable thing to do.”

The corporate accountability group is now looking to Coca-Cola’s Dasani bottled water for false advertisement. However, Dasani denies that their product is just tap water.

“We don’t believe that consumers are confused about the source of Dasani water. The label clearly states that it is purified water,” Coca-Cola spokeswoman Diana Garza Ciarlante said.

As we reported last year, Major water supplier Niagra Bottling announced that one of their springs was contaminated by E-Coli, causing many leading bottled water companies to recall their products.

Joe Buck says a hair plug addiction nearly cost him his broadcasting career

Fox Sports announcer Joe Buck took time off in 2011 due to a virus that affected the laryngeal nerve of his left vocal cord. Or so he said at the time - in an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated, Buck reveals that the damage to his voice was actually due to complications from an elective hair replacement procedure. He also reveals that he was addicted to hair plugs.

Buck tells his story in his upcoming memoir Lucky Bastard: My Life, My Dad, And The Things I'm Not Allowed To Say On TV, and explained his ordeal to SI's Richard Deitsch in advance of its publication. He said that he was worried about losing his hair since his job as an on-air broadcaster often felt like it was contingent upon looks rather than skill. His first replacement treatment took place in 1993. From then on, he says, he was hooked.

In 2011, during his eighth replacement procedure, something went wrong and Buck was unable to talk when he woke up from the anesthetic. A doctor said it was nerve damage. Buck told the world it was a virus.

Buck tells Deitsch:

"I was lying. I think people bend the truth all the time, unfortunately. It was really for self-preservation and ego for me. As I look back, I gave partial truths. Where I lied was when I said the reason why. People would ask, 'Why is your vocal chord paralyzed?' I said it was a virus. I didn't say it was an elective procedure to add hair to the front of my head. It was embarrassing. There's an embarrassing element to that.

Any surgery done to improve one's looks is not really something someone wants to talk about. So it's very cathartic to get this out. There are a lot of people across the country, for as silly as this sounds, who obsess about hair loss. I would tell myself I needed to look younger, I needed to have thicker hair, I don't want to look older than I am. The truth of it is that it was an ego thing, whether I was on TV or not."

Buck said the reason he was allowed back on air even though his voice wasn't as strong as it should be was due to the equity he'd built up at Fox Sports and his relationship with his bosses.

Somewhere in a St. Louis alley, 2011:
:burp: Psst, Buck. Over here.
:homer:Hey Clem. You got the plugs?
:burp:What do you mean, 'you got the plugs?' Of course I do. Do you think I came here to get broadcasting tips from you? You're no 'chip off the old block'...
:homer:Alright, alright. Spare me the insults. You're not coming at me with any of that 'John Denver ten-year-old boy' look you hooked me up witht last time. Are you?
:burp:Joe. Joe. Relaaaax. Man I told you I have the good stuff. But I need to see the cash first. 500 clams.
:homer:FIVE hundred?!!! Last time it was only $300!
:burp:Inflation my friend. Besides. Wait until you get a load of this Joey boy. It's called 'the Snead Curl'. You watch. It's the new thing. Chicks dig it. Some scout, or GM or something is causing all the ruckus.
:homer:Well....ok, Clem. But this better work. I'm. Desperate! I've got to plug. You know I do!!
:burp:Hahahah. Yeah, Buck. I know. You're a disgrace. Good thing your old man is not around to see you grovel like this. Now pay up!
:homer:....400....$500- there. Now give me them Snead Plugs!!
:burp:Ha. Here you go Buck. Hopefully these work. But I got a feeling you're going to gonna be doing the Little League World Series before long...so long sucker!

Protest is a right given to every American, but you dumbasses have nothing better to do than to get ticked off over a guy who doesn't like yoga pants?

Hundreds of people wearing yoga pants parade past man’s house in R.I.

A letter to the editor by a man in Barrington, R.I., that criticized women over the age of 20 wearing yoga pants spurred a response, which included a parade of hundreds of women, and men, in yoga pants past the man’s house.

In the letter, Alan Sorrentino wrote that it’s ‘‘bizarre and disturbing’’ to see the outfits on ‘‘mature, adult women,’’ noting that it’s ‘‘usually paired with a blousy top and a pony tail hairdo.’’ He said it’s the worst thing to happen in women’s fashion since the miniskirt. He said women should wear a
‘‘nice pair of tailored slacks’’ or jeans instead.

He told women who wear yoga pants that he’s struggling with his own physicality as he ages and said, ‘‘I don’t want to struggle with yours.’’

Sorrentino wrote the letter, he said, as a joke. But the backlash was real, including death threats and other online posts, he said.

lol. Unreal.

It would be nice if those types of people just collectively, all of a sudden, forgot how to breathe.

I'm guessing yoga pants hit an all time new high in lows on that day.

Regardless - dude needs to back away from the yoga pants and mini skirt bashing. Don't listen to him ladies. Err on the side of you should when deciding if you should wear either one.

I'd definitely agree on the Depends part but I've seen some pretty hot tall women who look smoking hot in them and they are definitely in the double digits. Not far into them but... Never liked Bridgett Nielson but you telling me she doesn't belong in yoga pants?
