I have advocated for taking Kenyon Sidiq on many different threads for weeks now. This article sums up all the reasons very well. I know they need a DB, and in this draft one can be acquired with pick #29. I don't believe all the Ty Simpson chatter; if they come out of the first round with Sidiq and a great young DB it's a home run.

I like the potential with him and Ferguson both being extreme field stretchers. I just worry about his production, especially at a position that is notoriously hard to project in the pros.

What about his production worries you? He led his team in catches and tds. Oregon spreads the ball around a lot it’s wasn’t a team that was going to force feed a guy the ball.

I'm with you. With his athleticism, should have been way more dominant and don't like the fact that he's dropped over 10% of passes. Can't remember who posted it on social media but he also apparently had much lower pass catching scores than the TEs drafted last year as well.

Heard there are 14 to 16 first round grades in this class. I do wonder if Sadiq is one of them. I am not opposed to him at 13. As for 29 I get the feeling that could be dealt to a team that wants 5 year contract control over someone they like. Simpson i believe is long gone by then and if they keep 29 they are theoretically getting a 2nd round talent anyway.

The only reason I would consider taking him AT ALL is because he is a really good blocker, both downfield and in the backfield.

His stats looks pretty good;
51/560/8
And only six dropped passes.
That 4.39/40 is an eye popper.

I said it in the message you responded to, but tight end is such a hard position to draft and project that I worry about someone we've never seen have prolific production for their position. I'd rather target a position that's easier to project at that point (one of the receivers, Love, or one of the corners).

I don't mind the drops because I think that has some variability to it (I believe Adams led the league in drops last year). But the position is just so weird that any blemish stands out to me. He's a bit smaller and his production is questionable.

I don't think it gives either the team upgrade or positional upgrade that other players in different positions would bring.
