I would have rather DRAFTED Brock Purdy.
For those keeping score at home, the 49ers effectively traded Micah Parsons, Cole Strange, Channing Tindall, and the 29th selection in the 2023 draft in exchange for Brock Purdy’s backup.
That’s a big timeline. Purdy is young, and I think I read this was what Jake Delhomme had in his career and bounced back.
To be fair to Martz...........despite having the same number of QBs throw passes for him as Shanahan (7) in 6 seasons, Mad Mike had a QB throw 500 or more passes twice, while Shanahan has never had that happen. Style difference? Martz had 4 seasons when his #1 QB threw 347 times or more and Shanahan just two. With Martz it was protection issues. With Shanahan it's selection issues.
