I read that Aaron Rodgers could pass Favre on the career TD list, so naturally, I started perusing the rankings. I also remembered someone saying Stafford could become the all time leader in 4th quarter comeback in another 2 years. First here's some standings of which you're probably aware.

Stafford needs 3631 yards to pass Phillip Rivers (currently #6; but Rodgers will probably push him down to #7)
He needs 5 Touchdowns to pass Matt Ryan for 9th overall.
He needs 104 completions to pass Phillip Rivers for #8

Davante Adams needs 1202 yards to reach #20 all time but chances are DHop, Mike Evans and Travis Kelce will push him to #23.
He needs 9 TDs to move into #8, 14 for #7 and 19 for #6

But here's the stat I didn't know.

#3 on the all time list for yards per attempt is JIMMY GARAPPOLO (8.2) tied with Norm Van Brocklin and behind Sid Luckman and Otto Graham. Who'da thunk it? Our backup is in the record books along side some true legends!

I recall, somewhat that Stafford is like #5 all time on 4th quarter comebacks, around 36, and close to #4. Brady is #1 around 45. So, something like 9 more to tie Brady.

Yards per attempt can be a skewed stat with yaad factoring in. Isn't there another stat for Air yards per attempt? I don't recall Catskill looking like Russell Wilson slinging bombs downfield.

Seeing Jimmy G as a Ram he really did use short screens with a lot of yack.

I remember a headline years ago stating, Montana throws for over 400 yards after they defeated my Rams in Anaheim, years ago. Taylor had 2 receptions at the line of scrimmage and ran both 80yards for TDs. That is how Jimmy G got his stat.

I think Purdy was third in the league in Air yards per pass. Which seems odd, since he doesn’t have a strong arm and doesn’t throw outside the hashes often.

However, if a QB isn’t throwing many screens or check downs, then it can really boost the Air Yards stat. Purdy had 8.5 air yards per attempt and the leader, Lamar Jackson only had 8.8

Another weird stat (sort of).

The 3 longest tenured Ram draft picks?

1. Havenstein
2. Higbee
3. Tutu

:wow2:

Remember that game well. I was in a room full of 9er fans and the Rams were beating their ass and decided to go for a 4th and goal just before halftime to basically put one foot on the 9er throats, but failed.

The passing stats for montana were definitely skewed because of those screens. Nobody knew who taylor was until that night.

The Rams let that one get away. Horrible night.

I assume that refers to active Rams.
Yes. Kinda strange though isn't it? After the 2021 draft and subsequent season, if someone would have said, "by 2025 Tutu will be the third most tenured draft pick on the Rams roster and longest draft pick of the McVay era".....most Rams fans would have wagered them $1000 to a bottle of beer, that wasn't gonna happen. And yet, here we are. Stranger than fiction.

Yeah, I remember that game. and a rotten, painful one it was. Taylor ran well but the Rams tackling was woeful that game also.....

Jimmy G was a good fit for that Whiners O and a lot of YAC in those stats.
