So, it looks like DJax as we all know is on his way out in either a trade or quite possibly a release. The announcers at todays game talked to O'Connell and he mentioned that with DJax on his way out, Skowronek and Harris would need to step up. No mention of Tutu. Add to that Tutu's injured shoulder wherein he didn't even return to the sideline and I think it legitimately only leaves us with Skow and Harris as additional receiving threats.

Count me as someone who's not particularly worried. Skowronek is a little slow but he showed up when needed in the game and Harris may be able to add a speed element to the offense that we might only marginally need with Kupp and Jefferson's abilities to be schemed deep.

If Tutu is injured and needs to go on IR, I'd consider shutting him down for the year and grabbing Trishton Jackson off the Vikings practice squad and elevating him. Jackson seemed to do everything Tutu does during TC but better, maybe not as fast. Think it's a lost year for Tutu and hopefully after a year in an NFL program he can come back with a redefined body and better work ethic.

Can't argue or counter your logic on this one. I will say I focused on Harris once he was brought in. Best I could see is that he was used as a blocking TE. Didn't shine yet didn't embarrass himself either.

I want to see Harris running some routes. Sko can be a weapon on the underneath stuff but ...give me some Harris to satisfy my thirst.

Agree with everything, including grabbing T-Jax from the Vikings practice squad to elevate in case Desean is traded and Atwell is put on IR.

But I'll add onto it: I think Koski has long since deserved a promotion. Might be time to give him it, along with T-Jax.

Skowrenk is going to be a weapon. His mechanics look natural and he's learning from 2 of the best if not THE best YAC receivers in the game.

Skow's got some nice toughness to him out there too, I like his game.

Skow is way more ready than Harris, but you could use him in the red zone or to send him deep.

I believe in both Skowronek and Harris based off of what I've seen so far.

I'm almost to the point where I'm ready to call Tutu a wasted pick, though. I just can't see how a guy who goes flying whenever someone lays a pinky on him could ever be a full time WR in the NFL.

There are clearly smaller guys that have long term success like Tyreek and DJax but those guys are insanely tough for their size. Tutu probably weighs about 150 right now and he plays exactly how you would expect a guy who weighs 150 to play.

@jjab360 I'm not happy about what we've seen so far on Tutu but really can't judge without him being in an NFL program for a year. He missed a bunch of TC on the Covid list (not just not practicing but physically had to be away from team) and he needs to be on a weight program along with some work on how to be a professional.

Some of that can turn around, it's not a high probability but it happens. This year though, yeah, I think we've seen all we're gonna see from him.

I'm not sure Koski will be anything in the receiving game but he does have some return experience in college. Nothing crazy but he at least has returned kicks and punts at some point in his life. I don't think we have anyone else on our squad who has and I don't think Trishton ever has either. So if Tutu is out I would like to see if Koski can be the return guy at the very least.

As far as Skow, dude made me a believer this week. He's not the fastest dude but neither is Kupp. But like Kupp, he showed he's a football player with some heads up yac and nice receptions. Harris is so damn raw so I'm not expecting much of him this season but I don't mind sprinkling him in to get seasoned this year and unleashing him next. Hopefully we stay healthy enough that Harris doesn't have to be relied on heavily because he's not ready for it.

Was impressed with the catch and run where Skow was short of the sticks but got it done. Jefferson better stay hot!

Would like to see Harris worked in for RZ work. That seemed to be what they were doing in camp and would be a nice addition to what they have. I wasn’t impressed with the RZ failure or play calling on the second possession yesterday.

The only thing that can slow down our receiver group is injuries. As is, they're one of the best in the NFC. Kupp, Woods and Jefferson might be the best 3 in the conference. Skowronek has been getting some valuable experience. He might easily round out the group when using 4 WR's.

Is there any update on Van's injury? Hoping he is OK. That dude is ballin this year.

He came in to be the "veteran" receiver during the 4th quarter, I would imagine if his knee was serious they would have opted for Woods instead.

In term of DJax, I really couldn't care less. The deep passes early were fun, but we clearly don't need him for that, and he hasn't really made an impact otherwise.

As for Tutu, I don't want to say a rookie is done after 8 games, but I'm really struggling to see the potential so far. He just doesn't look comfortable, and he seemingly goes down when a light breeze blows on him. Hopefully the team can get him on a strict diet and exercise plan to put on some muscle a bit and he can be more useful next year, but I'm not expecting him to contribute really this year. If he's buried on the depth chart next year as well behind Skowronek and Harris (which seems incredibly likely at this point) then I think it could be a rare miss by this front office.

I love Skow's physicality, and as great as our top 3 WRs are, that's a dimension they do not bring to the table.

As for Harris, I really want to see them take a shot with him on a go route. One successful shot to him, a big guy with wheels like he has, would send shudders through defensive film rooms in the NFL, especially with Stafford's deep ball capability.

The TuTu pick didn't make sense on draft day and it looks even worse now. It is tough to think about the defensive help or
O line help that they could have had. Even a tight end would have made more sense!

One thing that interests me... do you think the Rams have thought about using Skow as a tight end and Harris as a WR? Isn't Skow the better blocker? And Harris the faster receiver? Just thinking out loud.

I think Skow fits perfectly as a WR in this offense because the WRs block so much and are used a lot like TEs. He had a hell of a block on Woods TE run.
I don't know what Harris really is. He doesn't seem like much of a blocker.. too long and light, imo.

Gotcha, thanks. Luckily for me I turned to another game once they brought in the backups. Apparently that 4th quarter got some of our Rams faithful on TILT today, haha.

Yeah, Creed Humphrey would have looked very nice in Horns. Think he's playing at pro bowl level as a rookie and we could have had him instead of the stick figure Tutu.

It's a shame Bill O'brien doesn't exist anymore because we could probably get a 2nd rounder for Djax to Houston if he was still there.
