I've seen $1.4-$1.7m, but if this week has taught me anything, it's that I understand less about the cap than I thought I did last week.

Subject matter areas listed in order of difficulty understanding, most to least.

1. NFL Salary cap dynamics
2. Quantum mechanics
3. Relativistic Physics

That comment from the Rams was some serious shade.
If Jackson was indeed willing to stay, it is very interesting to me.

Says A LOT about McVay and the Rams' Leadership. I mean that as a huge positive.

Says that the "We Not Me" is not just a cute little saying but a real thing because I thought Jackson's speed and deep-play ability helped them and is not duplicated with other receivers on the roster. Just one injury, and Jackson could have been valuable. Furthermore, if he winds-up with a top-NFC-contender, that could come-back to bite the Rams in-the-butt.

Regardless of whether what I wrote in the previous paragraph is accurate, if the Rams' Leadership is truly Team-1st, then I like the decision to release him because it does send a clear (and great) message to the roster ... which is mostly young.

Again, just don't want to see DeSean Jackson on an NFC Contender.

I trust Les. I’d like his speed on the roster still - I’m not sure we have it now - but if his attitude was getting in the way - it’s not that important

"Hey Brad, it's Les. You don't even have to give up anything in trade. Just put in that waiver claim. He's cheap and man, do you ever need receivers ... "

None other than any incentives he could have reached. Base is Guaranteed if on the roster at beginning of season.
Yeah but if Jackson is claimed off waivers, wouldn't the new team be responsible for the remainder of his 2021 base salary?

You're correct that Jackson's base salary is guaranteed. However, which team has to pay the remainder of that base salary; and take the cap hit for it? If he's claimed off waivers (big IF), wouldn't the claiming-team have to pay him and apply that amount to its cap?

Being claimed though assumes ownership of the current contract, remaining base and all, no? Him signing after clearing waivers would mean we still owe all of the base.

Edit: What Allen2McVay said

I would also be OK with the Jaguars or Raiders.

Miami would be fine ... Colts would be OK too.

Giants would be OK but I don't see Gettleman/Judge bringing him in.

Just not the Packers, Bucs, Cardinals, Cowboys, Niners, Saints or Seahawks.

He actually posted a thank you to the rams their coaches and their fans.
I do feel McVey felt maybe a bit betrayed and hurt and stuck to his guns.
I have heard and read all the back and forth about this and I still don't understand how you at 34 needed that much more. He still could have been a hero a local here just look at the way his name became relevant again when we played Tampa. Those moments very easily could of happened in the playoffs or Superbowl should we get there. If he approaches this situation differently maybe thing go differently but on what was the biggest game of the year he was utilized and shined. Just hang in there and maybe have aature conversation with the coach that ran 50yds to greet and celebrate with you against Tampa.

I get the money and the end of the road but he has accomplished so much had nothing to prove accept maybe end off as a champion at home. I don't like not having him he was a weapon at anytime but the "me" attitude that he couldn't overcome for a possible chance at a chip is sad and it does smart. With that I say good riddance but I'm not thrilled about it at all.

DJax won’t have to go through waivers. He is a Veteran player with more than 4 years in the league so he is a FA.
Did not realize that. Now I am back to worrying about him with an NFC-contender.

Why do hurt me? What did I ever do to you?

My guess is he ends up at the Raiders. Makes the most sense with what is going on there now.
