If he's got a full no-trade clause, I doubt he goes to Philly -- those fans are just brutal. I'd never want to play for them.
Division is crap, team has some weapons. I dont think he'll care much where he goes as long as he can win. They are asshole fans, but love you when you're winning just the same

He said no to Philly last year when trade talks were starting don't know if he's changed mind but he's put it out there already.

IMO, Carolina an excellent landing spot for Watson. Matt Rhule needs him for his team to take off, plus it would be somewhat of a homecoming for Watson being that he played at Clemson.
And they seem to have the best package to offer and it wouldn't destroy the team though losing Horn and Burns certainly hurts the D.

Agreed about the defense, but right now, the Panthers need to jazz it up on offense landing Watson would do that and IMO, I still feel Rhule is a good Head Coach, but owner David Tepper is losing his patience considering he paid so much money to block Rhule from going to the New York Giants.

IMO, I believe Carolina is the best spot for Watson, an owner with unlimited means, a HC that has a history of always protecting his players plus being that Watson played at Clemson, it would be a homecoming, which will help cushion the negative press.

Now that being posted, I can also see Seattle making a move to get Watson and agree that releasing Wagner maybe doesn't bode well, however, Watson is 7 years younger then Wilson & maybe that was there plan all along thus releasing Wagner for cap reasons.
100% agree. Carolina and their owner are desperate for a winner. They know you need a QB over a high priced injured RB (love McCaffrey but he’s a injury plagued guy).

I’d place 10,00 ROD credits on this is where he‘s traded. JMO

I'm just glad the Rams got Stafford last offseason and don't have to worry about being in the bidding here.

I don't know what happened, but I know I wouldn't be comfortable handing my franchise over to a guy who made the decisions that lead to this predicament in a best-case scenario.
Same thing with Bauer.

Deshaun Watson wants to meet with teams before deciding where to go next

The transaction will be a trade, but it has a distinct free-agency feel.

NFL Media reports that Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson wants to meet with interested teams before making a decision as to the team(s) for which he’ll waive his no-trade clause. Per the report, trade offers have been made by the Saints and Panthers.

Watson’s desire to do his own due diligence necessarily will slow down the process. As previously mentioned, that could hurt Watson, given that: (1) he’ll testify in the civil lawsuits pending against him on Tuesday; and (2) teams may want to see the testimony before making a final decision about trading for him.

Indeed, Watson likely won’t be able to meet with any teams until Wednesday, at the earliest. With his deposition testimony happening on Tuesday, lawyer Rusty Hardin undoubtedly will want to spend all of Monday preparing him for the experience.

The ensuing delay, even if the meetings happen virtually, necessarily will cause some potentially interested teams to move on to more immediately available options. It will cause some potentially interested teams to not proceed at all, given the damage that open pursuit of Watson could do to the relationship with the current starting quarterback.

Thus, while it’s smart for Watson to want to meet with teams (given the various factors he needs to consider), some teams won’t be willing to do the dance. As a result, this move necessarily will trim the list of interested teams to those who are serious about Watson, since they’ll have to be serious about waiting for him, about meeting with him, about answering his questions, and about eventually pausing to anticipate his final decision. If, of course, they’re also willing to give the Texans whatever they want.

Can Seattle afford the trade? How much dead money exists from the Wilson trade? Watson carries a 40 mil cap hit for 2022. Hell, if its going to cap strap them, I'd love to see him in Seattle. 6-8 game suspension and 42.4 cap hit.for 2023. 82.4 mil for 25 games? 6-11 or 7-10.

Well, not exactly. The team that trades for him isnt on the hook for the 5.5 mill cap hit for pro-rated signing bonus
Still, 35 mill is a tall order
That said, I'm sure part of his "due diligence" will be talking to teams about either a contract extension or at least a restructure with money up front. Not a guru on the contracts but I'm sure they could convert a good portion of his 35 mill salary to a bonus of some sort and lower that year 1 figure quite a bit

No one even knows the real story with Bauer. He got railroaded thru the media, same as Watson.

Watson was nothing but a stand up guy at Clemson. That said Im glad we have #9.

Makes sense. NO would be a great spot for him as much as I hate to say it.
