Does anybody actually have proof that the Rams wanted to sign Demby to the PS.
He part of the 53 man roster for a while, while all of the other Practice squad guys couldn't make the 53. It makes sense they would not want the 54th best player on the team to be kept off the squad of lesser players....and now we have like 7 offensive linemen. Crazy.:headexplosion:

It's reasonable belief considering when they waived him. There was obviously gamesmanship there. I think they gambled and lost. It is what it is. It won't make or break us. There are some OLs I like still on the market. But I am disappointed. Demby is a big boy with country strength. He was a small school LT. Kromer has had success developing guys like him in the past. I don't think our intention was for him to be claimed.
I agree with you though some here are questioning my feelings on this. I do think they were trying to sneak one in, but at the same time if Kromer saw can't miss potential he wouldn't have risked trying to sneak him into the PS. This he must have felt it was worth the risk. Personally, I wouldn't have done it, but I'm not in charge.

It’s hard to think he would not have been claimed. Everyone on the board has been saying way back.Instill think Williams a better option if needed.

I'm with you I don't get it. It was bad enough to know we were only going to have 3 rookie Olinemen as back ups, but now two rookie Olinemen as backups for two games?!

Brown will be back & the Offensive Line is healthy. Williams can still be claimed & knows the offense better than Demby. He was not going to be part of the 53 & does not play special teams.

Agree he would have been added to PS 1,000%

STARTER ??? Dude got cut !!

He has a good motor & size. I’ll give him credit
for being able to learn multiple positions.Inwas never big on him & thought Williams would make it over him. In fact if somebody gets hurt, look for The Rams to pick Williams up off waivers.
Are you serious? As if nobody who's been cut before has went on to become a starter somewhere else? C'mon man.

And my exact words were "showed starter potential" btw. That's a very low bar but he cleared it over someone like Darrell Williams who in my personal opinion has shown little more than turnstile potential in extensive opportunities.

I really believe the signing of Evan Boehm was the reason the Rams let Demby go. Boehm was a 4th round selection and has game experience. Demby had the ability to play Tackle, however, Boehm offers versatility at guard & center, but seems more natural at center. I trust Aaron Kromer here, so let's see how it plays out.

Either he has talent or he doesn’t.
That's the weird thing about O lineman.

Sometimes physically capable guys who got mediocre or bad coaching don't reach there ability until later.

6 rounders don't usually end up being starters percentage-wise that often anyway.

One negative of be8ng a contender is tgat yiu cant carry a developmentak guy like this if he cant help you this year. 3 years ago a guy like this would be carried on the 53

Think it might be important to note that the relative value of Olinemen may have decreased ever so slightly with the new kickoff rules. Without running starts and wedges, having big men on the kickoff team is less important. Perhaps Demby was seen as less important than Johnson and Boehm the better backup in general.

Neither one of them are Rams, so will see what the future holds.

The new kick off rule might have effect the offensive lineman ? Special teams wise .

The Rams OL have stayed healthy with Kromer. He does not like to keep more than 8
he said at some point during training camp.

The Rams pick up a OL guy & kept Kolone.Demby is better than Kolone so I’m sure Demby would have made the PS ahead of him.
Jamon Brown is only out one more game now. Allen, Blythe, & Noteboom fill out the nice. — Demby was out anyway.

Same. Demby's a good kid and all but he's just not good enough to stick and sometimes those types get poached. If anything it's a testament to our drafting and coaching that he was snapped up as quickly as he was. Best of luck to him and family them's the breaks.

I think there's a couple other dudes on the PS who might end up getting poached down the road too, in Boehm & Hodge. There are some pretty bad OL and WR rosters around the league, never know with those two positions.

It just goes to show the quality the Rams have in their roster from top to bottom, someone has to be cut. I trust Kromer on ALL o-line decisions, I quoted him on another thread somewhere where he mentioned that Demby was farther down the ladder than they'd hoped, he's with the players day in and day out, he knows what they're capable of, don't forget, one of Kromer's likes are players that are 'coachable' - trust in the process guys.

Bottom line for me is the ST's have not looked all that good in coverage in pre season. I believe Bones carries serious mojo with McVay. In last nights game Isaiah Johnson was seen on all of Bones ST units. I like Demby & still think he will be a good OL in the future but at the moment safety IJ is needed more. IJ has been a much better DB in pre season than Troy Hill so I am not upset.

Speaking of safeties did you notice who has stepped up into Wade's Dime DB position? Safety Marqui Christian. Thats a big uptick for this strong safety Christain. Over the first half of last yr we saw Cody Davis present in many Dime packages & was wondering who would replace safety Cody Davis....appears like we have the answer.

Horrible move. Demby had potential, which is more than you can say for Brandon Allen or Isaiah Johnson.

Can't say I agree with you on this one. He looked terrible to me during the 2 games I watched. Maybe he could've been developed, maybe not, but it's not the end of the world.

The Rams have a very good roster now. Guys getting nabbed from the PS will happen.

Great observations with Isiah Johnson & Marqui Christian as he's listed as the backup to Joyner and it would not shock me that Christian gets more & more playing time as the Rams transition to replace Joyner next season. I also expect a Safety drafted high next year.

You're 100% correct on Johnson, after his release, IMO, Bones went to McVay and made his case for him and McVay might of asked Kromer, "Can you live without Demby?" With the signing of Evan Boehm I believe Kromer gave his blessing and that's how it went down. I also believe Demby will be a good Guard or RT down the road, but with Boehm on the PS and the need for Johnson I can live with the decision.

@LoyalRam also might have been right about Allen, but I have this feeling McVay really likes Allen and I expect Allen to be the number 2 next year and because of that, the Rams did not want to release him feeling somebody would claim him...Again just a feeling.

Bonifay, that was one of Wade's halftime adjustments. He added a DB (Christian) and put Talib on J Cook instead of a LB.

Raiders didn't score in 2nd half.

Good teams have a tougher time moving players off the roster onto the practice squad, such as the Rams were trying to do with Demby. Suspect one of our 3rd rounders next year will be used on OL.
You got that right. Nice problem to have.

Complaining? Anyone wish we have one of the 49er starters as in Mike Person?
I was watching that game and noticed that too. Mike Person a starter? Then they mentioned that he was only starting because someone else was injured.

Anyway, it was interesting that he was starting as a guard when I thought he was our backup tackle.
