Dear Jared,

What a trip this week has been huh?

Yea it's been like that for thousands of Rams fans as well.

As you leave and start your next journey in a new city I wanted to leave you with a few thoughts.

First off, Thank You for being one of the best QB's this Ram organization and fan base has had.

In four years as a starter for the Rams you are 1 of 3 QB's that has lead us to a Super Bowl.

You lead an offense that was the envy of the league and the highest scoring offense over two years.

We will never forget that.

You lead several exciting wins over the Mahomes, Bradys, Rodgers, Brees and Wilsons of the world.

To a huge amount of Rams fans the recent offensive struggles were not solely on you.

We believe playcalling, key injuries and the failure to address the Oline were part of the problem.

I personally believe Mcvay is not willing to admit this.

So you are the scapegoat.

You deserve better than being the target of the blame and how this was handled, but it is what it is and it's time to move on.

Head up man. Go kill it in Detroit.

We have to support our new QB, our coach and our team, not because we agreed with this trade, but because we are Rams Fans.

But as you go, know that your Jersey will be framed and on the wall where I watch Rams games every weekend.

Right next to other Rams Greats.

You were one bad ass Mofo that I won't forget.

And if you raise the Lombardi Trophy one day, we will be celebrating right there with you.

Peace.

I posted this “Thank you Goff) post in the epically long Goff thread, but it’s also appropriate here:

Thank you for memories. I’ll never forget the energy at the Coliseum during the Vikings and Chiefs games in 2018. You balled out. You went blow-for-blow with Mahomes; beat Rodgers; dropped dimes all over the Vikings D. It was a privilege to attend those games and feel the excitement of the fan base.

Thank you for the gutty come-back win against the Saints in the NFC title game. You played clutch in a tough environment and led the team to a SB.

Thank you for representing the organization with class, even when things fell apart and you started getting publicly thrown under the bus by your coach and management.

The Rams decided to move on and I understand why. They gave him more than a fair opportunity and unfortunately he couldn’t take advantage of it the last 2 years. For whatever reason, whether it was his processing speed, ability, playcalling, personnel issues, coaching, etc. he regressed. And it was hard to justify keeping him with his big extension. The thing I really didn’t like is how the FO left him out to dry the last 2 weeks- not cool and not a good look.

Regardless, I wish him well and will root for him to prove people wrong (I’m a Cal Bear so my connections run deeper than most). As long as it doesn’t mean his team beats the Rams.

I‘d like to thank Jared for some damn good football - AND - for not being a douche on or off the field. I was proud to call him my QB.

As a fan it feels cold to move on quickly... but it’s a sport, a game.... and Jared will be just fine.

Go Jared!

Go Stafford!

Go Rams!

After years of awful football and a constant QB carousel. I thought Goff was going to be the one guy who was truly a franchise QB for this organization for a real long time. Personally I think Goff is getting the raw deal here but that's how it goes.

I will always appreciate the Goff years and be a fan of his and wish him well.

The Rams/Vikings game from 2018 has a case for the best game a QB has ever played. Because it was a Thursday Night game, I remember the high that gave me all day Friday and throughout the weekend.

Thank you for the memories Jared! Best of luck moving forward.

I was hoping we could find our Hall of Fame quarterback that spent his whole career with the team. Like Kobe and Magic. One who could lead us to great things. But it didn't happen. He just wasn't good enough.

I wish him well. He wasn't that guy. That guy is so hard to find in today's NFL. Tom Brady was looking like that guy in New England but even he went to another team. Not For Long is truly what the NFL stands for these days.

You have to commend Jared for the way he's handled it. Yeah, he became a turnover machine last couple years. Yeah, he's made some very questionable decisions and throws last couple years. You could say he's a product of a great offense around him (what QB wouldn't be). But, the kid has a lot of talent and has put up some great numbers and led us to the playoffs 3 out of 4 years. I think new scenery hopefully gets his confidence back and he helps rebuild a pretty bad franchise. As much as this all sucks, I do think it's what's best for all parties involved.

Great post, OP and all the luck in the word to you, Mr. Goff. We will all still root for you regardless of your location. Except when we play you, of course :)

I've been critical of Goff's recent performances but he's been a net positive throughout his time here with the Rams.

I wish him nothing but the best of success (except when he's facing the Rams of course)

Jared your a total class act. I too believe the pieces on offense were not upgraded after '18 and slowly the Offense deteriorated. I am sorry you are the scapegoat as a poster said for this.

You will always be in my/our hearts.

I still believe (if you believe it) when everything is said and done you will be a HOFer...put in the work prove them (McVay/Snead) wrong. We love you and the best of luck in Detroit.

One thing since you have a two year runway make your voice be heard in Detroit loud and clear demand a great wr in the draft do what it takes to make YOU successful and in turn the Lions will flourish. Don't sit back and let management seal your fate you don't know their level of competence. Believe in Jared tell them WHAT YOU need to succeed.

All the best you go kill it in Detroit a Goff "MOM" for life!!!

Even with the down years in 19-20, he's the best QB this franchise has had since Warner.
The Thursday nighter against Minnesota, the Epic game against KC and the NFC Championship game when he brought us back from down 13-0 justify his career. I hope he does well in Detroit

Whatever criticisms of your play may be deserved, the way you were publicly talked-down by your HC and GM was not.

Godspeed!

Was he really publicly talked down by McVay and Snead? Or was he simply not coddled like many want for the sacred cow QB position?

In the end, we really have very little idea of what was going on in that locker room. It's very well possible that Goff's hands may not be as clean as many here want to believe.

Agreed. I think not only the coaches losing confidence in Goff but the players. And if the players don't wanna play with you then it's best to say your goodbyes

Hell yeah dude.
Screw the haters, thank you for saying so eloquently what many of us feel.

Maybe the sentiment expressed here will give some insight for those who struggle with their ability (or lack thereof) to understand why not all of us take joy in rubbing salt in open wounds. Maybe not.
