Need confirmation from a second source, but I think this is legit.

Hey Nate, how about you try spelling his name right?

I seriously hope they give him some return duties.
He couldn't be much more scarier than Xavier.
Since he had one return for 25 yards and caught the other one clean, I would trust him more than XSmith.
Since Smith can't seem to avoid contact maybe Connors can MAKE some contact. JTOMA.
I actually would have preferred if they took a stable return guy off of somebody else's practice squad because our returns are getting scary at the catch and not much return.

They can activate him up to three times before they must decide whether to put him back on the PS or sign him to the 53-man roster. It will be an interesting decision with Rivers out for 4 or more games. Let's see how Connors does on special teams. I would like to see him get downfield faster than the current special teams players and make some tackles. I don't know about returns, but I guess they should give him an opportunity.

Was wondering if Philly could steal a RB from us. All 3 of their guys are banged up right now.

This is the right move. ST sucks ballsack. I don't know if Connors can help with that, but it's worth the roster spot.

Also once you maneuver yourself to assign a ST player to the roster, there is always that chance you'll need him to play outside teams. He is depth after all. I presume McVay said that because Waters expected to get the move up, so letting everyone know it's a teams thing keeps it in perspective. But if you offer teams at the final roster spot and the other dude doesn't, then you should be ahead of him on the roster. Just how I see it. Obviously McVay doesn't though, because he doesn't value special teams.

What I don't understand is how McVay doesn't see the pass game potency Connors brings to the equation. Seems strange to me that he doesn't acknowledge that Connors also offers change of pace in that regard for third down. He's got good body control and hands, is quite smooth as a receiver. The rest of these guys look like fish out of water in the pass game. Williams is the best of them in that regard but he's got enough problems carrying the load and ridding himself of these fumbles.

Has to earn the trust in pass protection and Connors has shown he is willing blocker, but knowing the assignments and where the blitzer comes from is a whole another kettle of fish.

Now with more experience will he trust Connors in that role? I believe so, Dean seems not only willing, but seems cerebral, which will endure him to McVay too. The key is when given the opportunity, he needs to continue to shine.

This thread makes me happy
To me, he's Benny Skow with a hell of a lot more upside

How this guy went undrafted in a bad RB class is crazy.
Yeah I don't get it either. Even more surprising to me is that all 32 teams declined to pick him up after the Rams left him unprotected after the preseason.

The guy runs a 4.43 or a 4.45 forty time, which is well above average. Has great hands, which we saw both on tape in college and in preseason. Fluid body control, nifty wiggle too. And mainly-- he has a knack for clutch plays.

Really curious to see how Connors handles his shot after this injury to Rivers. I predict he's going to prove the doubters wrong and stick on the Rams for a while.

Yeah I'm a homer and had hopes for Spruce too. But this guy's measurables seem better.

Somebody tell me a single mistake that Connors made on any of his touches vs the Chiefs (video below). Looks to me like he made the most of every play. IMO he gained all the yards that were available, and then some.

He looks decent as a runner, but as a receiver he just killed it.

Here me out..
There always needs to be a “I didn’t see that coming” aspect to a successful season.. I think it’s Connors.

He received first kickoff.. and Denver said.. fuck that and only kicked to Smith.

Small WRs are running in 13 and being asked to block.

Let’s go 2 back with Connors and Kyren.

Connors played WR some in college and in preseason, his routes were excellent.

Kyren has really stepped up as a receiver.

I think it could be very effective and fun.

As a kick returner, sure.....though on his one kick return, his vision was on par with Jordan Whittington.

We scored 26 points and racked up 480 yards and Konata had a game....so I would rather not get Connors involved, myself

I hear you…. But in the second half, the Rams run game was slowed.

Connor’s in a 22 formation can line up at WR and go in motion and become a jet sweep threat.. preventing ILBs from crashing the interior, imo.

And.. he was better than Smith.

Unfortunately the running backs were mostly consumed with pass blocking duties which is something that keeps a rookie off the field in this offense.

Agreed that it would be a problem for rookie. I wouldn’t have him as a single back on passing downs. I’m envisioning him as a hybrid wide receiver running back essentially a third receiver in 13 personnel, who could also lineup in the backfield.

My biggest argument for getting him on the field like this is that he becomes a jet sweep threat. And he can be a legitimate Blocker in Waze that the small wide receivers cannot.

He definitely showed his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield in the preseason. Now that he’s on the roster he could potentially be used in two back sets as a receiving option. I like the skill set he brings to the team.
