If we somehow land Bowers tonight I’m destined for a hangover tomorrow.
In a good way, or a bad way? Not that hangovers are every good, so to speak.
The draft starts 7pm for me. I think I am ordering a pizza!

And not pineapple @Loyal … Pepperoni and black olive, hand tossed Pizza Hut. :horns:
Same here. It's a pizza night.

And it could just be another example of the Rams saying that they want an offensive player, just to force the defensive players further down the board.

Nobody actually knows what is going on; it’s all guesswork/clickbait.
I get that but looking at them talking about wanting to trade up, assuming it's accurate, I don't get anybody but Odunze being the target.

She doesn't know shit. It ain't for a QB but anything else? Lol, way to narrow it down.
I just want to know the fuck you know it’s not for a QB?

Is it something they ask that is required? “ who you drafting?”

I'm thinking the same thing. Stafford is not showing signs of slowing down. Arm strength is still elite. Desire is there. He mighta had the best stretch of his career after the bye. Its like he's gotten better with age. The intelligence. Different arm angles to complete passes under pressure. I'd be surprised if he did not finish the final 3 years on his contract. Its possible he might wanna go further after seeing guys like Brady and Rogers play in their 40's. No reason to look at a future quarterback right now.

I can just imagine:
Les — Sean we’re going to move back.
Sean: well I love Bowers - can’t we get him?
Les: way too much
Sean: how much? Let’s find out if we can do it.
Les: ok sure I’ll make some calls Sean and find out (internally rolls his eyes)

49ers could be trading one of their two receivers? I can see Aiyuk being worth a number one. But Deebo was exposed in the Superbowl for being a guy who does not run good routes. Easy to cover him. I would not give more than a 3rd for him at this point. He's more a bubble screen/inside slant type of receiver.

Sean just got aroused.

If he can run a jet sweep…

I think McCarthy is overrated and will bust, but that's just me. I like other QBs more than him.
The key for me with him is that he wasn't asked to carry the offense. So what teams are doing is projecting he will be able to carry their offense at a higher level of ball, where defenses are better and more nuanced and prepared.

So I feel like I'm on crazy pills seeing rumors that he's ranked up there with guys like Maye and Daniels. Doesn't mean he won't hit. He may end up being a fine NFL QB. But I think it matters in where you slot him on your board which means what resources you are willing to give up to get him. He is this year's Young, i.e. he should be a round 2 QB but he won't go round 2 because he's a likeable kid and he has the talent teams want to see, so they fall in love with the player and will reach for him.

But Maye in comparison routinely had the offense on his shoulders. Roasting in that pocket looking downfield. Reading threats and making hot throws. Daniels too. Daniels has a bit more of a jump to him in terms of he often can't wait to bail out of the pocket (which will be his challenge as I have mentioned prior) but the dude can hit the long passes like a champ. Both have questions to them but both produced at a high level given what they had around them. And for all the flak Penix gets the offense was "Michael needs to make a play" and he did that, to the tune of getting them to the title game.

You can remove Penix from Washington's offense and they'd be lucky to make the top five. Remove McCarthy from Michigan and they'd still probably win the title. To me this stuff factors in to this level of decision. Or it should.

Ok, the work day is now complete. Here comes the hard part.
Convincing my wife that I'm listening to a word she's saying while I desperately want to check for draft updates

I agree. I feel like the one time they put the game in his hands was the disaster against TCU

Just like with Bowers the problem with him is he is a slot. And we have Kupp in that role owning that shit. Maybe he can be effective vs some draws at X. But yeah I'd rather see a guy who you know will compete game in and game out at that spot, otherwise slide down and/or take a wideout in round 2 or 3. The outside the hash studs are the ones who go high. Rest of these guys, sorry to say, are a dime a dozen in this draft.

In regards to the Rams "moving up for a QB:"

I don't think they will plan that. Meaning they would not move up for a QB. But it is possible I would think that they have the move up agreement done with some team and instead of the player they want maybe a QB they didn't think would be there is in fact there. At that point it is possible they say "well why not, given how hard QB is to find and the fact we won't be up here again for a while."

So I would not rule it out. But I don't think it would be something they actively plan. Rather it would be due to the way the board falls in a surprising way.
