I think he'll probably get it reduced--the Cowboys are the NFL's flagship media darlings.
We'll see. After the whole Ray Rice and the Giants kicker, the nfl may face pressure to stick to their guns

Trade news: 9ers traded a fifth for Tomlinson guard from a lions. He was their former first round pick. He was on the roster bubble for lions, good on them for getting something in exchange.

Damn I liked him coming out. Would have been ok if we took a flyer for a fifth.

Lions trade former first-round pick Laken Tomlinson to 49ers for fifth-round pick

Laken Tomlinson was a bust for the Lions. Now the 49ers will hope they can get something out of him.

Tomlinson, a guard drafted by the Lions with the 28th overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, has been traded to San Francisco for a 2019 fifth-round pick, according to NFL Media.

That’s a disappointing return on investment for the Lions: When you draft a player in the first round, you’re hoping he’ll be a starter in Year 3, not hoping you’ll trade him for a fifth-round pick in Year 3. But given Tomlinson’s lack of production, at this point the Lions may just feel fortunate they can get anything for him at all.

Tomlinson has played in every game since the Lions drafted him, with 24 starts. But he wasn’t expected to start this year and may not have even made the roster at all. Now San Francisco will see if it can get more out of his talents than Detroit did.

Robert Davis or Brian Quick, who stays and who goes?

The Redskins wideout battle has been narrowed down to the final two.

Brian Quick caught 2-of-3 targets for 19 yards in Washington's third preseason game.
His missed connection was a bad drop late in the fourth quarter. The Redskins have reportedly liked Quick's play on special teams this summer, perhaps giving him an edge for a 53-man roster spot. The former second-round pick isn't going to contribute on offense. Aug 27 - 7:21 PM

I just happened to see the drop. Back line in the end zones. Got his feet in then dropped the easy pass. He looks stronger but, still making mistakes.

Wow first they take the Rams blown 2nd overall draft pick then they trade away their first round pick for a 5th rd pick to make up for the 6th they sent to LA?? Drafting OL'ers in the first rd is a serious gamble for most teams. The Rams 2015 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 6th selections have had issues thus far non are very solid going into their 3rd season. Making UFA's veteran proven OL'ers (Whitworth/ Sullivan) seem a good route in the future. Using the top selections on defense (Edge Rushers & CB's) instead.

Tomlinson had so much hype coming out and like GRob never realized the potential. Maybe a change of scenery is the answer for both. I hope not for Tomlinson as he's a shiner now.

Drafting OL has worked out for the Cowboys

Yes the Cowboys have been one of the better teams in the past decade who have done very well in finding good starters in that OL. On the flip side Rams would fall on the opposite side of that. Snead & McVay rolled on with what OL was here along with 2 key additions. IMO the best move they did thus far was Andrew Whitworth & 2nd was John Sullivan. John Sullivan could earn himself a nice pay increase through a new contract in LA for the next few seasons if he continues to remain healthy.

Rams might trade a young OG for a RT yet, keep an eye out for that. Rams have only a few pennies of available cap space so a trade must include a player who would bring cap space or would be for even up for a OG Jamon Brown or OG Cody Wichmann for a similar type RT. Pace Murphy is playing injured, Andrew Donnal has been out injured since last season ended, UDFA Micheal Dunn is healthy but green as possible & LT reserve Darrell Williams has never displayed any skills or talent @ RT.I have no ideal if there is any NFL team that is fat @ RT?

But drafting defense hasn't. Seahawks have had success on defensive drafts but not oline. The draft is a crap shoot at best for everybody.

Also depends on coaches ability to develop players. Tom Cable has a questionable track record when it comes to developing linemen while Rod Marinelli helped that Cowboys defense overachieved last season.

T.J. Ward - DB - Broncos
NBC Denver reports the Broncos are expected to "part ways" with SS T.J. Ward by Saturday's cut-down deadline.

Reporter Mike Klis says the move will come "preferably by trade." That means release is on the table if a deal can't be worked out. Due a non-guaranteed $4.5 million, Ward missed most of training camp with a hamstring issue. In that time, the Broncos apparently grew comfortable with second-year pro Justin Simmons as 30-year-old Ward's successor. Ward would quickly and easily find a new home if cut loose.

Nuke got paid and paid well. It's gonna be interesting to see what Savage brings to that offense. Or maybe Watson gets thrown in after a few games.

Texans signed WR DeAndre Hopkins to a five-year, $81 million extension through 2022.

The deal includes "nearly" $50 million guaranteed, breaking the previous record. Despite a down 2016 fueled by horrendous quarterback play, 25-year-old Hopkins has established himself as one of the league's top wideouts. He boasts unreal body control to go along with top-notch explosion and excellent hands. He surpassed 1,200 yards in both 2014-15. Quarterback remains the issue, but Hopkins is a true No. 1 receiver.
