Even tho I didn't see the bucs game, the run play calling is bad. If you have 6 down lineman and 1lb, you run the ball up the gut, NOT OUTSIDE, NOT EAST AND WEST, NO STRETCH RUNS, NO REVERSE.... maybe a toss here and there Minimal off tackle plays.... but for gods sake run straight. Its simple math. You have 6 down defensice players and 5 lineman + a te. But a te in most cases can't block a DE CONSISTANTLY by themselves. It's been 5 games and we still haven't figured out the 6-1? Wtf was the coaching staff doing this off-season?
I’m wondering the same thing. What other team has this much trouble with one formation? McVay is too stubborn it seems to put a FB in. Higbee would work well in this role. We are continuing to run the same exact stuff over and over. There’s gotta be a big change and it won’t be on a short week. Expect more of the same this week.

CC needs to get back into a 12 step program, sounds like he has returned to his old habits.

Surely he's talking about cutting him from a Fantasy Football team?
(Which is still a mistake IMO)

Please realize that McVay knows the answer to what they're seeing. He's been saying for weeks now it's execution. The players have been saying it's execution. Looking at the film it is without a doubt execution.

Vs the Bucs we got beat on the LOS. The OL needs to win more of their matchups. No OL gets through a game winning all of them. But we're winning too few and the problem isn't that McVay is an idiot, it's that the players aren't getting it done.

The previous two games there were big plays to be had and I'm not talking OL. So not gonna hang everything on our beleaguered OL. The skill players didn't make them and I even put up stills of missed holes and dropped passes I mean it's clear as day. Goff missed some too and otherwise has not been careful enough with the ball (in my opinion he is pressing to solve the lack of execution problem). It's execution.

Lets be honest, the previous two years the OL was just plain better. Better holes for TG, more time and a better pocket for Goff. It's not a coincidence that Goff's numbers, Gurley's #'s and the teams numbers are down. Unless you have Russel Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson or the like that can escape pressure and make plays out of nothing it's not a surprise what's happening. And when you go 21 down you don't have much choice but to abandon the run for large stretches. Is TG the same? I don't really know. He looked pretty normal to me on his TD run where he carried defenders 5 yards to the end zone. I think there's been way more speculation than actual facts to back it up on his injuries or reports of. Guys like Havenstein, for whatever reason look considerably worse this year. I mean some plays it looks like he's a rookie and couldn't block my grandmother. But, it's early enough they can adjust and find ways to gel together. Hell, even big Whit has been off at times. I for one think we miss Saffold more than we would like to admit.

God knows I miss Saffold! He really was and still is one of the best guards in the game. And he seemed to finally shake the injury bug. Really wish we would have found a way to keep him. When I was watching the titans the other night he was the best lineman on the field.

He isn't touching the ball for a number of reasons.

One is the defense is crowding the line of scrimage to take away the run (6-1 defense) or the double A gap blitz

Football coaches go for what is open, and running the ball 30 times into a stacked defense is going to result in not many points scored.

The evidence also shows us that Gurley's health is questionable. what EXACTLY it is.. no one on this board knows.

Yah but being part of the game plan doesn't mean only as a runner. He's a good receiver maybe the Rams should find ways to get him the ball that way?

I wish someone did a break down of his runs up the middle this year I can pretty much guarantee his averaging at least 5yards a carry

Gurley is done.

I remember when Faulk was done and it always is hard to admit. Especially when you see them out there still doing some of the stuff they used to.

Cutting makes no sense though.

More like phase him out.

SMH, dumb NFL.com link.

Try this one from E$PN:

....my point being, he don't look too bad to me. Did it again, scored 2 TD's, if we'd won he'd prolly get a game ball, especially if our D didn't get us so far behind that we had to abandon the run.
NO WAY do you CUT TODD GURLEY. Dumbest idea evar.

oh please. That Video was fake! Everybody was in on that touchdown. Todd would have scored another one if Burfict didn’t ruin it!
