Funny Dak ends up the only one out of Goff, Wentz and himself that stays with the team long term. Seems like they would have been better off resigning him earlier if they were going to keep him. Looks like Washington will be the team to beat for a few years.

Doesn’t surprise me Cowboys are known to reward mediocrity. Dak will retire a cowboy with no superbowl. They will hold onto McCarthy for aslong as they held onto Jason Garrett before cutting him loose. Jerruh is losing it...Cowboy fans going to be sad/disappointed for the next decade...

.

this is why you don't franchise tag qbs you fucktards.

could have had him for $30m per year but now you have to pay $42m per year.

fucking idiots.

.
Exactly.

Also, exhibit A for those that like to play the hindsight game of why a key player got paid.

We can debate which players should be paid. For example, paying a RB might not make sense philosophically.

But for key players like QB's that have proven their ability, you might want to pay them earlier rather than later.

So.... Dak's injury and (sorry to say) mental history is of such little concern that they would pay him this kind of contract and yet our FO was stupid for its moves?

Good to hear. Now that that is set let’s see what happens in Seattle. Cowboys have no cap space now.

I still think it’s bullshit they lowered the cap. It should have stayed where it was, bastard NFL owners. And I often side with them to.

Seems we are 35 mill over the cap right now.

So The Boys win only 2 of 5 games that Dak started, (1 of them was due to the Falcons complete incompetence covering an onsides kick), he has 7 turnovers in 5 games (1.4 per game), and he gets 40 mill per year. Yet the Rams win 10 of 16 games that Goff plays in, (including a playoff win on the road), while he had 17 turnovers in 16 games (1.06 per game), and they have to give Detroit a 1st rounder to take him off our hands.
What a whacky world.....

Preposterous, isn't it!?

They still lose out on 30M last year due to the injury and still on the hook for a 30M player coming off injury.

Looks like a bad signing. I would of let him walk and try to find a new QB. Sometimes you have to reset, consuming all that cap space to a QB only solves your QB problem. Hard to build a roster now and Dak is not a player that can carry a team. The only player who could consume so much and still win would be Mahomes right now.

Dak is not a bad QB, he is actually pretty good. Just not a great one and he seems a little overrated to me

Ok, this shit is getting out of control. No extension For Stafford. Ride out our 2 years and draft our QB to groom next year in the 2nd round. Oh, and cross your fingers we hit pay dirt.

you make it sound like they can go down to the corner store and pick out a franchise qb.

why do you think all these above average qbs are getting monster deals?

It seems they don’t care about winning anytime soon. They should of just signed Jameis Winston on a cheap deal instead of going all in on Dak.

Yea a bad signing now. Would of been a fair signing if they would have got him signed when they should have.

No way in hell I give him that much now. It's just insane.

Jerry jones

Topic of conversation: Jones was hyping his team up before training camp when he used the commonly used expression in the oil and gas business.

What he said: "I've been here 23 years. I've been here when it was glory hole days and when it wasn't. I want me some glory hole!"
