Could it be that Snead has a couple of surprising draft day trades up his sleeve?

I also don't see Corbett moving to center, or Hav being traded. It make more sense and less disruptive to the O lines continuity. I expect to see Shelton, Allen and Anchrum to get plenty of snaps at center in TC and pre-season games. Even if they draft a center, those three will still be ahead. From all the snippets of comments I've read from coaches and Snead concerning Anchrum, his football IQ, size and athleticism, I'm guessing he's the frontrunner

My guess is Anchrum replaces Evans as next guard up this year and becomes a starter at guard next year when Corbett's deal is up. Allen and Coleman and a possible draft pick will be given every opportunity to win the center position. Starters will remain the same across the board except for C this year with Noteboom as the swing tackle.

Left field move is we pick up a LT candidate that we like in the draft and trade Noteboom to a team that missed out on a tackle in teh draft for a 2022 late round draft pick.

I love Hecker but after last season which was a bad year and given his age, he could very likely be in decline. Not against trading him and getting the cap savings if we can. Same with Havenstein. A lot of cap savings if we move him and I dont think Edwards/Anchrum/Evans would be too big of a drop off. And who knows maybe one of the young kids excel and give us an upgrade there. Only makes sense if we plan to use the money saved to sign one of the free agents still out there.

I agree. It's not like we aren't absorbing other changes to our starting roster with a guy like Brockers being traded or losing Hill & Fox to free agency, and it's not like we don't have anyone in reserve to fill in if Havenstein is traded. The Rams have a great deal of depth on the OL, it may just be time to tap into that in order to improve the entire overall roster, as well as getting younger at key positions where big CAP savings might be had. And for those wondering how we might spend some of the savings, imagine trading for another target for Stafford at a position where many think we are understaffed, by adding Cleveland's David Njoku at TE ? He's just an example, but if Edwards, Noteboom, Evans, Anchrum or a potentially brand new OT draftee can own the RT position, it opens lots of other possibilities. jmo.

I want the 2021 version of this line:
LT: Irv Pankey
LG: Kent Hill
C: Doug Smith
RG: Dennis Harrah
RT: Jackie Slater

Everyone seems to be so satisfied with our Oline except for a position or two. Our best player is an old man and the rest feed off him for leadership, but that only goes so far. I keep hearing about saving money from the Oline to get skill players, but how about this? Let's be pissed every year that our whole Oline isn't in the ProBowl becaquse they are that frickin good? Maybe I am too old school, but I want an Oline that kids growing up today think about when good old days when our Oline was 70's good...or 80's good. Lets not settle for a ramshackle Oline and build it right with great talent year after year. Let's get the next Doug Smith at Center who had 6 Pro Bowls for the Rams...

I have a feeling it will be Anchrum too Bubba. It's a longshot and a stretch but for some reason I think he's in play.

If they take Creed or Myers though I think either of them start for us day one.

lots of bang for our bucks if Anchrum can start at Center
train
Or if Corbett can slide over, with Anchrum at guard.

I am too old, and have watched too much football to think and say the following but Anchrum just looks like an interior OL should look.

He won’t be available but i’ll be pissed if they pass up Humphrey at R2.57. He may not be available but I’ll also be pissed if they pass up Myers at R2.88.

I expect he has a good chance to be there tbh. The centers that teams press to draft early are the special ones. Creed's gonna be a good center for a long time in the NFL but in this range teams are looking for impact players, special players who slip through.

Plus the class has some nice options into the midrounds. Value with Creed, to my eye at least, is that he can start early so I do think he'll go before the others but as to where... Not so sure he's a slam dunk early round 2 pick.
