i was gonna ask who this michael johnson is and why can't i remember him then i read the article below and it said michael thomas. now i really want kupp to get the reception record.

.

kurtfaulk - Thanks for catching my mistake!!!

We will seen many records fall with that extra game.
Like what?
I dont think any record is in jeopardy (outside of the obvious Kupp run)
Kupp is having an out of his mind season, one for the books even if he didnt play another game this year.
Nobody coming close to passing yards or passing TD, even if they had another game.
The way the league is going, with player preservation being object #1, I think you'll see week 17 become a glorified pre-season game

I understand the arguments/reasoning with both sides of “What IF” Cooper Kupp sets new NFL Single Season Receptions and Receiving Yardage Records. But, Personally, I will be thrilled for Kupp if he does break those records!! Couldn’t happen to a nicer/more humble player (At least in my Personal Opinion!)!
And, It is not like Cooper Kupp or the Rams had anything to do to change any rules to personally benefit him (The NFL added the Game and every NFL WR had the same advantage of that extra game). And, I think the last time I checked no other WR was event close to Kupp in Receptions OR Receiving Yardage! So IF Kupp does break those records I certainly will be very happy for him and I won’t be putting an asterisk by his Name/Records but maybe others will!

This could be interesting, I think McVay is really tired of losing to the 9ers regardless of who their qb is. So if this thing is sewed up is he really gonna put his most valuable asset at risk to get some record or for bragging rights with Shanny? A lot of the backups have got some valuable run lately so I think it’d be competitive but it only takes one flukey play and your all world DT is limited like last year.

Beating those fucks with a backup QB would be some appropriate payback. :laugh2:

Fuck the records, just win baby!

Van Brocklin 554 yds passing single game
Dickerson 2015 yds rushing season
Anderson 335 yds single game passing
Night Train Lane 14 int"s single season
Deacon Jones God knows how many sacks single season

Just off the top of my head Rams NFL individual records. I'm sure there's more.

I want to live to see Rams with most SB wins!
That's really cool when you think about how many major records are owned by rams!

I wasn't talking about just this year.

Right, you're talking about diminishing Kupp this year
What he's doing is remarkable whether he breaks the record or not.
But suggesting some lame idea that the 1 game will make for records to be broken is just nonsense
The single season rushing record gets challenged once a decade, and with the RB role being diminished, the yardage is safe. Henry was still 80 yards away last year, and now he's the cautionary tale of over use and wont see 300+ carries again. Passing records? TD's wont be broken unless they make the schedule 20 games. Yardage? Only 1 guy since the record was set was even less than 300 yards away, safe as can be. Receiving? Well, here we are.... 16 or 17 game season Kupp is having a GOAT season for his position

So if it's broken in week 18...

I have a strong feeling that we will still have a lot on the line in Week 17. Whether it’s #2 in the conference and home field, nailing down the West, or driving a stake through the Niners’ heart so we won’t have to do it in the playoffs. So Kupp may get a shot at the record.

Kupp needs this kind of game this week. I'm sure Mcvay and Stafford are capable of giving it for him.

???
I got you, you’re just a Bandwagon fan who will probably buy his jersey some day
Yeah, because everyone was jumping on the bandwagon with Alex Smith at the helm. True story.

I was actually a bandwagon Ram fan, GSOT. I didn't jump ship for 15 years though. That's pretty good. Lol

we have seen the passing td record get broken 2x over the last decade or so...pretty sure 55 will get beat again soon

Yes you jumped on the bandwagon of an 11/12 win team. Lord only knows what team you rooted for before the gsot and the name you disgrace by leaving it as your screen name.
Instead of shitting on our team why don’t you go pound salt.
@RhodyRams whats the chill for? You wanna allow a blatant troll that’s cool but don’t get pissed at a member for calling it out.

Doesn’t alway seem like he dials in on the 9ers.

Safe to say that he’s highly competitive and driven, but I don’t see a fan-type indicator that it eats at his gut to lose to their oldest NFC West / NFL Western division rival.
