No first rounders for 2 more years. No cap room. Many needs. Status quo and maybe we are a Wild Card team at best. The offense needs a whole new Oline. We need to replace aging players on D. If we trade Donald we can fetch at least 2 firsts and maybe a 2nd. Plus free up tons of cap room. We also can unload Ramsey and get a first and 2nd maybe. These two are great names but as shown tonight they do not make the Rams a great defense. I love Donald and I like Ramsey but this team is not 2 great players. I dont want to go 9-7 next season
I don't agree at all with trading Donald.
What I feel you should actually do is continue drafting pieces around him that are needed that could actually up Donald's game.
A better defensive tackle in the middle will help him be even more effective. That could come from an improved Greg Gaines or a draft pick.
Our offensive line will be better next year and that will help rest him.
We're going to have an improved defensive backfield next year due to Taylor Rapp and Jalen Ramsey having a better grasp on the defense as well as John Johnson returning healthy and that will provide better coverage and give Donald more time to work.

There's no chance in my opinion that they will trade a proven commodity like Aaron Donald for a couple of "maybe" draft pick first-rounders.

I think the Rams have been doing amazing with their drafting.
The sky's the limit for Edwards Evans and Rapp and none of them were first round draft picks.

Corbin, I like you, man, but if you're trying to blame Ramsey for that play, you don't understand the coverage. Ramsey is doing his job. Rapp was out of position. Ramsey is supposed to stay underneath of Sanders and try to bait Garoppolo into a mistake. Rapp is supposed to be over the top. They're bracketing. Rapp blew the coverage.

Let's stop having a "blow it all up" meltdown because of a down year where we'll still likely end up with a winning record.
I like you more than that! Lol
not really blaming Ramsey for a play, but for just in general who he is. IMO he isn’t worth 2 1sts and his huge contract. I wouldn’t mind trading him once a deal is done.

He’d look mightily sexy in a Dolphins Uni! :)

I'd keep him. I think he'll prove to be a cornerstone here.

I hope your right! There are some things I have a hunch on that I wouldn’t be upset if I’m proved wrong! Lol

I wasn’t in the mindset of making off-season mocks yet! :palm::mad:Oh well.

How goes the counseling?

The shrink is helping me work through my anger issues, and the 49ers fan should recover. Oh, you mean my job? It's good. ;)

Donald isn't the problem, the lack of a second Defensive Lineman who can occupy double teams is. As it is, Donald sees double & triple teams on a regular basis, take some of that pressure away and his effectiveness is intensified. Draft a quality 5T DE/DT this off-season, someone who can get after the QB regularly, then watch how much better our superstar DT and the OLB'ers perform. Brockers is an interior 3T DT, he'll do better elsewhere. Lose Brockers, Fox & Smart, draft a DE, DT and bring Marquis Copeland up from the practice squad. jmo.

This is why I was hoping to find a way to get Clowney albeit the majority of this forum was against it and thought we were fine

It was both of them, Maybe a miscommunication. Jalen was flatfooted, never in the play at all. You can see by watching the wide that he even noticed that and tried to catch up but he started flat then stopped before he wrapped his head around what was happening. Sometimes you use your head and help the team not drive the bus over the kid on the field and in the media. They both messed up even if he was baiting there was no player there to bait a throw. While bracketing you still read and react. Jalen could have played that better

One thing people don't consider when it comes to draft picks is the rarity of elite players. When you hear that historically roughly 50% of first round picks hit, they're not talking about elite players they're talking about guys who can stick on the roster and start. If you were to go back and look at truly elite players like Aaron Donald, the hit percentage is going to be much worse. You can get 5 or 6 shots in round 1 and still not get an elite player of his caliber.

This is indeed true regarding % of 1st round picks.

Even if one player each year was as good as Donald, and that's not true in fact it's far from true, your odds of landing that person are long.

A surefire HOF player comes along how often? It's very rare to land a guy like Donald who will be discussed as possibly the best at his position "all time". How many times does ANY franchise draft a player that is in a discussion like that?

Maybe a couple or few times in a teams history do they end up selecting a guy that's in the conversation for best ever at his position. And at a very important position at that.

There is no draft capital that a team would give up to match Donald's actual value.

Having lived through the Dickerson trade, Ricky Williams draft Trade, Faulk trade, RG3 draft trade the resounding themes are, Team's traded talented players\spots for these draft picks for very little in return when the tally of those picks was determined. I'll keep the HOF interior lineman and feel lucky with the picks we already have.

I will be a fan of Donald wherever he plays but I want him to be a Ram until he retires along with multiple superbowls or atleast one anyway. It wouldnt suprise me to see him spend the his last few years in the NFL as a Steeler though.

OUCH! I have just about had it with the Steelers picking up former Ram all-pros and having them eventually going into the hall of fame! It really saddened me to see Jerome Bettis and Kevin Greene have mega-successful careers with the Steelers, and I certainly do not want to see them pick up Aaron Donald.

I absolutely agree. Here's to Donald being Ram forever!

Here, here......F'Rich Brooks for even considering letting Bettis go and F'John Shaw/Jay Zygmunt for letting Greene go. Class act all the way. After his last game in Anaheim, he knew he was gone and ran a "high five" lap with the front row around the stadium. He loved it here.

One of the most worst( I deleted a much stronger word) posts in awhile.
What did the Rams end up with in the RGIII trade, the Dickerson trade ? You have to hit on those picks. Donald is a sure thing for the next 5-8 years. Let him retire as a Ram.

My hope would be that if they trade AD, I'd hope Stan fires Snead and McVay if they sign off on it and sell the team because he signed off on it..In short, I guess I'm not really in favor of that trade !!!

A recipe for immediate and likely ongoing mediocrity.

Add to get less for RAMsey as well by trading him.

i do know watching Clay & Donald at times was fun to watch this season.

Bottom line is The Rams need to add some beef & power up front.

—My co-worker jokes before every game by ask a question. What is the key to winning the game ??? It’s controlling the line of scrimmage.

that said, by beef up the D” front will only help the O”front in practice!!!

—The Rams are right there & last seasons draft class will continue to grow.~amazing the youth on The Rams squad. To say get younger is crazy!!

Hey, maybe the Rams can cash in on some first rounders sure things like Jimmy Kennedy and Robinson.
The Rams have a horrible history trading HOF players.
But, you never trade generational players.
There are no sure thing draft picks.

let’s go back to my days of wanting to protest !! Don’t pay Hacksaw & let him become one of the first Free Agents in NFL history.
Jackie & Dickerson holdouts every season. Listening to Dickerson about going to the books with Shaw(lmao) .Dickerson -John, I just won the rushing tittle. WTF

Going to OG for dinner & Kevin Green was holding out. He was on a dinner date next to me & friends. Had to Dumby up out of respect. My friends were Niner fans.

—Let’s trade Aaron Donald to Pittsburgh & start the cycle all over again. So he can play with Heyward & TJ Watt.

Memories of K.Greene—Jerome Bettis & D. Love !!!
