Cowboy fans are excited from comments I have read on YouTube. He looks to be a #1 or #2 for them.

Good for them. Good for Cobie.

As a Rams fan it is more of a bitter sweet thing. As much as I liked him as a person, I am glad we replaced him with better, quality starters.

Much smaller contract than projected. Bummer for the Rams and any chance at getting a compensatory pick. I think this contract will qualify in the comp pick formula and essentially Rams gained one qualifying free agent (Watson) and lost one (Durant). They will cancel each other out. Tutu’s contract was too small and didn’t qualify. Really just McCreary and Jimmy G left that might get qualifying contracts.

Now the question is do the Rams sign McCreary or some other vet for depth? Rasul Douglas comes to mind.
Well he did have one sack for the Rams.... lol... And those were getting hard to come by towards the end of the season.

I think the Rams are gonna invest some more time with Forbes.... Maybe he can put on about 10 lbs and work on some tackling drills.

He's a great #3 CB but he never quite established himself as a good starting outside CB. Had flashes here and there and I love his attitude. I was hoping they'd bring him back for depth so kind of a bummer. But gratz to him getting a shot at a starting job.

After that Bears game (lucky ass play) when Durant was barely pushed and wobbled like a bitch-ass soccer player trying to get a yellow card, I really don't have any sense of loss for him...... have fun in Dallas.

Just noticed Cobie was the NFL playoffs INTs and deflections leader.:thumbsup1:

Yeah, he really did flash at times and was always dinged up in camp and practice if I remember correctly. Shame when you could see the potential. Hope he balls out and then lands flat on his face in the playoffs.

The man was a fourth round draft pick which usually equates to being a backup.
It seems some posters want to dog him out for not playing like a first round draft pick.
He was forced into a starting role by the LA Rams due to their lack of bringing in a starter level player, and yet was an NFC Defensive Player of the Week, holds two Rams rookie records and a NFL rookie record. He also had a game-winning pick 6.
In our playoffs this year, he was the interception and deflection leader in the NFL.
Cornerbacks aren't generally known to be good tacklers and that's not even really their main job.
I would spend a fourth rounder on that kind of production all day long especially with a cheap rookie contract.
