His line has been great this year. Mcvay even said after the dolphins game that the line did their job.I say it a ton - Look Goff was great in 17 & 18 why the OL was better pure and simple. Goff had huge wide pockets to 5grow from. He had 2.75 secs to throw. His RB was game planned for (note our RBs this year are doing the job).
This doesn't take anything away from the fact that Goff should after 5 years in the league not know exactly where to go with his hot reads. He should recognize the 0 blitz and adjust by keeping a back and TE in. Simple as that.
I love Goff for his pin point accuracy but that accuracy is only as good as his OL.
I would say they did great with the run game and were just okay in the pass gameHis line has been great this year. Mcvay even said after the dolphins game that the line did their job.
One thing I do love about Goff is when he has a poor game early on (and that one was probably his worst to date since he's come online with McVay) is that he tends to bounce back. And he did. Other players did let him down on that comeback which is really unfortunate, but bottom line is in this league you're just not going to have a ton of time every snap without having the type of line that requires a bit more investment than we have.I say it a ton - Look Goff was great in 17 & 18 why the OL was better pure and simple. McVay should also game plan for blitzing teams to run a bunch of screens and draw plays. One thing I do love about Goff is when he has a poor game early on (and that one was probably his worst to date since he's come online with McVay) is that he tends to bounce back. Our line is pretty good. But the adjustment needs to be made by our QB and I am confident it will be. It's been a while since he's been attacked like that and it's a good reminder for him here in the regular season that should help him get his mind right and be prepared in the event any other team tries to do that to him.
Seattle doesn't have the personnel to do that at corner and their defensive style doesn't jive with that type of approach. But we are going to see Tampa do that, because their DC has always been aggressive and will be when we play them. So IMO he should bounce back nicely against Seattle and then Tampa will be a big litmus test game for him that will have a lot of implications for December and the playoffs.
Seattle will get beat when they blitz us. Which means they won't try that for long. Bank it.McVay should also game plan for blitzing teams to run a bunch of screens and draw plays.
Not once did Miami stop our screen game once we went to it when they were in a Cover 0 blitz.
And Seattle did blitz quite frequently against Buffalo.
Being just okay against a cover zero is expected though. They're literally sending more rushers than the line has.I would say they did great with the run game and were just okay in the pass game
