Glad I can go back to resting peacefully. No need, we have Brian Allen and Noteboom.

Totally legit point. However, signing Chase Young would have taken a big bite out of the Rams' 2024 salary cap space ... maybe as much as 40%. For that, Young would have to be healthy and productive. With the draft being such a crap shoot though, a pick in the 70s is worth it to me. I know it seems like we hit on Byron young which is a good thing, but Terrell Lewis, Terrell Burgess and Darrell Henderson were third round picks too.
That, I think is naive. See what Rashan Gary signed for yesterday? 4 years / $107M ... $27M AAVI'm confident He's not getting anywhere near that. 15 Max.
He’s never played a full season.I never do. Kind of like you defending Raheems bend but don't break all last season.
I don't care if it's a higher 3rd RD pick.. we have a need NOW and for the future at EDGE. CY is WAY better and has WAY more potential than anyone you'll get in the 3rd. Not only that, you wouldn't get into an open market bidding war for him.
Yeah I think there's no way to know which path is right, as of this moment. Chase seems to be on the clowney track right now. Potential still there but I don't think anyone gives him a monster deal in free agency. He's probably gonna need a 15 million dollar prove it deal. And if the league is as uncertain as I am about him, maybe that's the reason the Rams don't need to tie themselves to a question mark.Totally legit point. Still, I hear what you (and others) are saying. Think the 49ers made a terrific trade.

Rashan Gary has twice the amount of sacks that chase Young has in his career. There's a legit chance that young is just a name at this point. That's why I reckon him to clowney. Hard to see a team committing big money to him right now. Maybe if he continues to ball this season. That, I think is naive. See what Rashan Gary signed for yesterday? 4 years / $107M ... $27M AAV
Even if Young is tagged, that number should be around $21M.
Teams will have money to spend ... and Young (barring injury) will cash-in.
Deserved? ... No ... but Deserved ain't got nothing to do with it.
If he was signing for that, Washington would have re-signed himI'm confident He's not getting anywhere near that. 15 Max.
Gary has been hurt WAAAAY less and has a better career high for sacks.
Washington letting both of their starting edge rushers go kinda signals to me that they just wanted to break from both. They already gave Payne a massive contract on the defensive line.If he was signing for that, Washington would have re-signed him
Neither is a 3rd round pick. We've got on some and missed on a lot too. At least you jump start the off-season.He’s never played a full season.
His career high sacks is 7.5.
The Rams absolutely need that 3rd rounder. The roster is NOT one player away… and we are not talking about a guaranteed difference maker.
Ahh...SARCASM!!...It doeth a soul well.No need, we have Brian Allen and Noteboom.

But you’re gonna pay that amount either way… AND have a top 70 pick to use to build team.Neither is a 3rd round pick. We've got on some and missed on a lot too. At least you jump start the off-season.
Twice the number of games because he's consistently healthy tho. I guess we'll have to see. This happened with clowney. This happened with Marcus Davenport. This happened with Yannick Ngokwe. When you go into your contract year unproven, teams don't always decide to spend on you. I think Chase will need to really have a good stretch to get the contract he would want.In twice the number of games! I posted the numbers above.
Again, I am NOT praising Chase Young. I posted several times (including yesterday) that I DID NOT WANT the Rams to trade their third round pick for Young.
I am only saying that Chase Young (barring injury) will get paid a big contract if he hits free agency.
Bad ratio on sacks… about 1950 snaps for Gary to 1750 for Young.True and True. But it's not that cut-and dried.
Young and Gary have the exact same number of Starts, even though Gary has played 30 more games.
Gary has one season of more than six sacks. So does Young.
Gary has 27 sacks in 63 games. Young has 14 sacks in 34 games. That's about the same ratio.
Gary signed that deal before hitting free agency. Young may hit Free Agency where desperate teams will over-pay.
I'm not saying Young is better. I'm saying (barring injury) he WILL Get PAID.
Teams will have money, and teams will be desperate.
Exactly. Young is going to get paid.True and True. But it's not that cut-and dried.
