Anyone else notice that the only gunner to be in the punt returner's face has been Ben Skowrenek?
Dude's been doing very well on teams.

also, hot damn did the new guy, Jamir Jones, find a way to show up! Really nice block. Teams really showed up tonight as opposed to earlier this season.
Young guys making ST plays always makes me feel good. Makes me think Jones has a real future.

Morris started to play Staley's aggressive style and when he did the results were just like last year. When he backed off and went passive it was just like Sunday. Chill? I was right. Morris took the number one defensive and dropped them into the bottom half of the defenses in the NFL and you guys are okay with that?

Good enough isn't good enough if you want a Lombardi. That is the truth. Morris needs to build upon Staley's work not shit can it. Hopefully, he will. I have no doubt that the word came down from the top he needed to change back.

They held the Hawks to a bit over 270 yds in passing, 2 TDs passing, and 2 INTs. Last year's scheme still works. Morris must build on it. Add his own wrinkles yeah, but play it. In this game the DBs when playing zone defended the receiver in man coverage when he entered that zone. When Morris played his zones passively, they got picked apart. Morris moved Jalen around but kept him in the secondary and stopped playing him like a LB.

If Morris continues to play this D aggressively the Rams will win. It won't have to depend upon Stafford to carry the team. Chill? Hell Morris did what he should have been doing all season. He cost them one game and hopefully, he will get with the program that good enough isn't good enough. Stat's matter especially TOP as it indicates who controls the game. McVay for his part didn't turn away from the run as he is prone to do.

Sony showed just how good he can be, getting tough yards even when the D is stacked against him but also his pass protection continues to be excellent.

DeCamillis needs to stop trying to KO into the corner short of the goal line. Not only isn't it working it's backfiring and gave the Hawks a short field to convert into points. So far DeCamillis hasn't really improved STs.

4 and 1 with a reasonably soft stretch on the schedule!!!!! I’ll take it! And a W against the Shecocks is always sweet, no matter how ugly!

Wake up. Watch the game on record. See the offense struggle early. Hear the crowd noise. Watch the D keep us in it. Watch Bob Trees and Coop ball out. Watch us beat the Hawks AGAIN in their house. Fucking beautiful! Have a good weekend everyone :thumbsup1:

Yup, sure looked like that. Called baseball finger, mallet finger, drop finger. Torn tendon at last joint of a digit.

For me I put it in a splint for approx four weeks and it healed up on its own.
I got one playing basketball, a weird deal. Took a good six weeks to be to bend it again

And just saw the replay of DWill getting blocked in the back getting his ankle cut out from under him. Refs need to call that to limit those types of plays and future injuries. Steaming mad if I'm McVay

was that when rapp jumped into him? that's what caused the injury, otherwise williams would have just kept falling forwards.

i really thought the back up qb would once again win the game for the opposition. the rams d just has some mental block where they can't do shit once they send the starting qb to the bench injured. we've seen it so many times. if fuller didn't slyly knock down lockett who knows what would have happened.

please attack the back up qb like he's the starter. don't know why the whole defense relaxes when the back up is in there. it's not like they haven't lost 5 or more games due to this fact.

Yeah I couldn't remember how long mine was in a splint, but 4-6 weeks at minimum sounds right. And the splint only works if you completely leave the finger alone-- don't bend it. RW is gonna be out a while.

Only problem after a Thurs Night win, only one station seems to be talking about Rams awesomeness. I want to gorge on the talking heads eating crow for my enjoyment...I'll be looking for Kyle Brandt in a few hours, since he called THIS game the biggest of Stafford's career. But then, every perceived stumble by Stafford will be used against him because of the trade, which is unfair as f*ck.... Skip Bayless and others will be ready to pounce after every game...

I mostly agree with your takes on Morris and the defense. But what makes you think Gay is being told to corner the kick? If that is true that shit needs to stop ASAP. I was assuming he just pulled them both.

I will give Morris some credit in this game. He got Rochell in there, it looked like from the beginning over Long. Also the zone did man up once entered on some plays, though I will have to review the film to see. Also, Ramsey was more in coverage then the stupid star position. But notice how he was rusty since he hasn't been in coverage as much this year. I still see matchups getting exploited however. Why is Rochell damn near one on one with Metcalf and Locket with no coverage over the top. Or was that just Rapp way to late to the play?

Because he's been doing this all season but never last year. This is intentional trying to force a runback and limiting the return options, i.e. limiting the amount of field the STs guys have to cover. I've seen it before and it rarely works. Why would you do it in a close game where field position is important. Let them start on the 25 and a quick 3 and out will flip the field. But with the way Morris plays his soft defense KO field position is wasted anyway.

This is the first game in which Morris played aggressively. Then he went soft when Wilson went out. OMG that is the time you ramp up the pressure. Morris is just too damn cautious and calls a scared game. His soft defense almost lost this game as well. He would play aggressively with success then suddenly back off the pressure and the Hawks would move the ball. Morris needs to grow some balls.

yeah, she's 9 months. Her name is Serenity (you BET we've already covered the SERENITY NOW!!! jokes) and she's a true joy. Amazing personality and demeanor. Only time she fusses is when she needs to be changed or when she's hungry.

She's just starting to be vocal and of course, my silly ass has her growling, trilling...almost like yodeling, mouth noises (like rolling one's Rs) and we just have fun chatting.

She's just SUPER Fun and I'm loving being a grandpa.

Have another grand baby who's my son's stepdaughter and she's pretty amazing, also.
I’m up to five now. Grandkids are the single greatest thing on Earth.

no matter what I’ve said about boobs…….

A few nuggets from rewatching the game:

Jamal Adams got toasted. Higbee TD, Jackson big gainer and Kupp knocked him off his ass on the big Hendo run. They are using him too much in coverage vs on the blitz where he is best. I guess we aren't the only team that doesn't use our player correct.

On the interception by Scott - Fullers knee barely and i mean barely touches Lockett's back foot, but it was enough to cause him to have his foot hit the back of his leg and trip - Game over. Fuller didn't touch him with his hands so too bad so sad.

Dump offs - Stafford missed a wide open Higbee then a wide open Kupp on third down underneath resulting in punts. He tried throwing the longer verticals and missed. Sometimes just take the underneath stuff. Our first half started as punt punt interception and punt. Two were a result of not taking the underneath throw, one was because of a bonehead interception and the other because Mcvay didn't give us a chance on third and 10 and elected to run the ball. On one of the verticals it did appear that Jefferson ran the route different than Stafford anticipated. On the interception it may have been then same. Stafford thought Jefferson would break back out to the sideline and he didn't.

Stafford heats up - After two bad throws in a row - the last one way over Woods head on a deep in - Stafford woke up on the deep throw to DJack. It was lights out after this. The throw was underthrown but the pressure had arrived and he had to get it out. Adams had no chance of turning around so it was perfectly placed. I wonder if they work on these purposeful underthrows or Stafford just felt the play seeing that Adams would not be able to stop in time to get back and make a play. Either way Stafford was lights out after that. It was great to see him hit the deep ins to Woods as that is a play Woods has excelled at over the years. It is a staple third and long play that we have relied on and Stafford will need to hit it going forward.

Higbee - The one sack given up was Higbee getting beat. But later he made up for it on the goaline run in which he just destroyed two guys. Great play design though to. The play looked like an off guard run but either Sony read it perfect and cut outside of the blocking design forced the defenders inside. Either way Higbee sealed it perfectly.

Oline - Man they played awesome again. I want to go back and look a little closer but a quick review showed Allen manning up 1 on 1 many times. Usually he has help. But he handled it great in this game. Everything usually breaks down right at 3 seconds but Stafford is feeling the timing well and gaining trust in what they are doing up front.

Who the hell is this dude that blocked the punt. Never heard of him. And props to special teams for finally making a play.
