Seattle's got the kind of defense that can lock a shit team down. That's something you want if your goal is to chase a top seed.

Rams were close this year. Still think we can take Seattle in the playoffs. Offense is going to need to come out with no bullshit though, and maximize every drive and situation. Then this offseason the defense needs an influx of corner talent.

If you are the best team in the NFL then it doesn’t matter seed or location.

We can beat any of these teams anywhere if we execute.
And we should be healthier going into that first playoff game.
I think all our starters will be back and ready.
That's more important than seeding in my book.

Not if we lose to the Cardinals - and no coach would allow their team to play backups with a possible higher position,

You can't automatically believe that we will win against the Cardinals - of course if we are ahead by 30 at halftime - then they may put in their back-ups
If the Rams lose to the Cardinals they should take the Notre Dame path and decline to play in the playoffs

Perfect playoff run would be start things out by knocking SF out of the playoffs in their house. Then knock Seattle out after their fuckin bye. Then stomp a mudhole in whatever unfortunate team gets in our way in the NFCCG and hoist that Lombardi in SF.

I'm over this top seed shit at this point. And again the Rams probably would have shit the bed if they got a bye anyway because they always seem to shit the bed when they're the favorites. I like McVay teams so much better when nobody is talkin about them.

Seattle has really good speed in their back end and linebackers. The are very sure tackling and can defend sideline to sideline. It’s really hard to run up the gut and they are too quick to allow outside runs. They took away Corums outside running that had been very successful leading up to the last game.

Actually I did but it wasn’t the thread that was a shit show it was the Carolina Panthers!!!!!

I was really counting on that "good feeling" you had.

I should have known that Bryce Young is useless. Imagine being a Panthers fan knowing that all the BS about him turning the corner was a a cruel nightmare. If they pay him now they deserve to be in QB hell for another decade. lol. Oh well that’s what happens when you blow 16 point 4th quarter leads.

Yeah they did a good job as the game went on. Beating our OL up front I think was the key, as I don't think their ILBs are anything special. But they are well coached and consistent in their fits, and when our OL are doing everything they can to keep the DL out of our backfield it's hard to get second level and seal the backers.

Agree. All the handwringing about playoff position is worthless unless your team actually shows up to play. The 14-3 Minnesota Vikings got steamrolled in the first round of the playoffs last year. It’s a new season after next week. Records will determine where you play but not how well you play. Rams will likely be the 5 seed at this point and play a division champ with a losing record but that’s not any guarantee of advancement. It’s the best team in the sixty minute window regardless of their record.

Rams only chance in playoffs is to play their best ball of the season. Be damned what seed they are. On defense, if they don’t pressure the QB we’ve seen what happens. On offense, if they give up too many TDs for FGs or fail to control the LOS we’ve seen what happens. On STs, if they miss FGs and don’t do a better job on kick coverage, we’ve seen what happens. The good news - if they take care of those things we’ve seen what happens.

My thing with the situation is that I don’t want injuries to be the reason we don’t win. If we had first seed locked and bye, we should be healthy and have no reason to not make it all the way.

Now we are left doing road games with a team where fans don’t travel well and tend to make big mistakes/luck/bad call not go our way/special teams messups, whatever you want to call it in bad weather with no rest.

That is a big ask and of this team. We should beat anyone but we don’t and Carolina is an example of that.

That's not possible. If Seattle gets the bye, both LAR and SF are wildcard teams.

Who started this thread……….absolute shit show!
I started one last week claiming New England was going to get beat and that didn't happen either.
I realize I shouldn't start a thread based on "hope".
And you definitely don't want to hope in one hand and pee in the other. ;)

If the Niners lose tonight, I do think they have a better chance of winning with back ups like Mac Jones, than had Seattle lost and played their back ups next week. And if they play poorly tonight, although they just tied it up, Shanahan might not want to go into the playoffs with two bad outings. So he might sit some guys, but also might play most of their starters.
