Yes, you would be very wrong. I was the biggest tavon fanboy here. But that didn't stop me from seeing his limitations after mcvay found no use for him.

Early vacation time for Captain Checkdown. And eagerly awaiting which team will be the one who decides to pay him thinking they might hit the lottery.

Honestly, and this might not be popular, I would like him as our backup. Why? He'd be fine on the bench. I think his career will wind down with him as a #2 on someone's roster.

I wonder how Sam's career would have turned out under McVay rather than the collection of coaches he worked for? Jared Goff is a great example of how a coach can shape a player. Under Fisher he was a bust and under McVay, he could be a future Hall of Famer.
