The Rams - properly so - are doing whatever they can to provide an incremental improvement in their championship chances. So while Bradford has many faults - so does Mannion. IF the Rams can get Bradford for vet minimum, would he be an improvement over Mannion is the question. They apparently like Mannion in practice, but I've seen very little from him in either real games or preseason to make me think that he would be a suitable replacement for Goff for a half or a game. Bradford is less than stellar, but I'd have more faith in him, realizing that of course it's a downgrade from Goff.

Never understood the label of haters when someone has a different opinion. Sigh.

Its very easy to hide hating with a different opinion.
Its a popular opinion here. Not hating Sam I think is the "different opinion" tbh.

Bradford was an injury prone QB, drafted by the worst team of the decade.
The rookie salary cap, Sams measurables/potential and his agent all combined to make him a ton of money and that is the MAIN reason many people talk so much crap about the dude.

I am glad the Rams have Goff and McVay. If Bradford didnt get pushed out of bounds against the Panthers, and his paper knee holds up... he was realling looking like he was taking the next step... no telling how that might have changed things.
I met Sam at the gas station across from Rams park back in the day. He was friendly and the clerks at the station and he were joking back and forth like they went way back. I liked him and was impressed.
I wish him well.

Sorry trooper but in this case “hater” is pretty accurate, there are those here who just can’t resist the opportunity to rehash opinions (their own to be specific) on this incredibly worn topic

Didn’t mean to lump you amongst them, however Johnny Hekket is not > than Bradford as a QB, of course i know you know that, lol, you even got a “thread winner” on it so..,

Sigh

Poor guy was the subject of such poor coaching for almost all his pro career. Maybe things would have been different if he was surrounded by competent coaching. We will never know.

this can't be stated enough. poor guy had spags as his coach when he entered the league. talk about getting the short end of the stick. then in his second year he had mcdouche as his oc, who wanted to run 7 step drop plays over and over. problem was the oline had trouble blocking for 3 step drops. the poor guy was traumatised.

after the team watched spags punt the ball away in the second game of the season to hand the victory to the giants, they were never the same again that year. every single completion for the last 14 games was a challenge. it was bizarre.

by the time fisher came in they had to totally reboot sam so he could function again. and his oc was schotty. and still had a sub par oline. even with that against him he was finally starting to get into his groove and play some good football. then his knee gave way and that was that.

the guy was cursed. the only thing he was blessed with was getting paid.

Veteran minimum on our team?

I would do it honestly , hes got enough money and would still make 13 plus this year lol
I'd do it too. And only because I'd want to see if my theory behind his underachievement is valid. Always said if he had the perfect assortment of protection and receivers that he'd do well. I don't think that as much anymore, but I'd still be curious to see what he did with THIS team if given some mop-up time or whatever. Either way, my level of give-a-shit about him is at an historic low.

Bradford was damaged goods before the Rams ever drafted him. The man had all the tools but bad luck when it came to injuries. The Garoppolo injury reminded me of the same way Bradford was injured during the Panthers game. The Rams rolled the dice on Bradford and lost.

He moves on to the Eagles and suffers a shoulder injury along with a concussion. He then said he wanted to be traded and refused to attend off-season activities. Hello Carson Wentz, bye-bye Sam.

The Vikings sign him and he plays quite well but then the knee injuries bite him again. He hooks up with the Cardinals and turns out to be a shell of his former self.

I never begrudged the man all the money he got paid. Another man's wealth is none of my business. The man is only 30. It wouldn't surprise me if another team took a chance on him again. The definition of insanity is....etc., etc.

I still don't get why people feel the need to label things.

IMHO. Bradford was never a good Qb. He is my definition of a first pick of the first round bust.

I don't hate the guy. He seems like a nice guy.

But honestly imho If I had a choice of signing a punter Hekker or a Qb Bradford. I would sign Hekker to give my team the best chance to win.

Hekker makes plays Bradford never really has been a difference maker.

Just an opinion. Not hating on the guy

The guy was playing really well last year til he got crippled yet again but another dude that for pennies on the dollar as a back up in this system with these weapons and our offensive line I would be real happy to have him as a back up talk about insurance. Funny as it might sound weird how if it happened life would come full circle. And most importantly Suh and him would be teammates and Suh can hurt him everyday in practice it's like getting a doggy toy for your dog!!!

If he hadn't hurt his knee again last year, he would have gotten a HUGE contract to be the long term starter for the Vikings. Next year he'll get a job as a backup, with a possibility to compete for a starting job.

The only player in NFL history who's agent was more successful than him?
You beat me to it. I read that and thought, I need Sam Bradford’s agent. That man can sell snake oil as if it were platinum.

The Bradford hate on this site is really getting old, always the same usual suspects, doesn’t reflect well guys

Very, VERY Boring
Meh.... I don’t know about hate. Probably more disappointment than anything. Hell, I named my puppy after him. He’s also a disappointment and he somehow injured his knee. Go figure.
