The only way I think they win is if Murray dominates so hit him early, him him often and him him hard.

Two guys the Rams have been pretty successful against are Russell Wilson and Murray.

We know both those guys can stretch plays though...and if you don't contain them it can be a long day!!!

25 carries for Michel first off. Minimum. Cards defense is shitty vs the run, but very good vs the pass. We have to be balanced in this game. Our pass pro will not hold up if we get all fucking pass happy and 9 will turn into a football dispenser. It is what it is. Oh and that doesn't mean 15 carries for Michel and 10 for Akers. It means 25+ for Michel minimum. He's the guy who has been energizing our OL. Feed him.

Contain Murray secondly. Scary thing about the Cards is any given game Murray can go off. When he's on he's amazing. But the good thing is he tends to not be on when he's in the pocket. Rams should be ready for this.

These teams know each other well. If we do the two things above we will win this game IMO.
LOL!!! but, true!

I actually think stopping Conner (if he plays) is paramount. Containing Murray is a big deal but we just got gashed and couldn’t tackle.

Offense - just take the dang check down!

We'll play on Sunday. I think we are goin to TB.
Wow wow wow. AZ is in front us. Good things need to happen to get by them. 0 fuckin’ turnovers and an established run game to start. Contain Murrays scrambling and better tackling to finish. All missing against the 69ers.

If I were Arizona, I would target the Rams inside linebackers with James Conner and Zach Ertz. I would also go after the depleted secondary and target Rapp, Scott, Burgess and DD especially with their tall receivers like AJ Green. And lots of short passes because Morris likes to play his corners 10 yards off the ball. Stay away from Ramsey.

And Arizona can run on the D as well. Conner proved that last game, although he was limited after being hurt. And their D is not bad.

I hope the Rams don't underestimate this team. I am concerned because of the physically and emotionally exhausting game they just played.

In a nutshell, contain Murray, and eliminate turnovers! The rest will take care of itself.

I would play 12 yards off the WR's on third and 6 because defending the deep ball is priority 1.

I would go 5 wide and have my QB throw into triple coverage because there is always a good chance of a TD don't cha know.

Easy Peasy.

Lets get it going.

Obviously containing Murray is key. I think we actually got Miller for this exact reason. Our edges need to be disciplined in this one. Stafford is going to have a great game.

Would be great to win the first ever MNF Playoff game!!!
How about scoring more points that the Cards. I think that would do it.

Regarding coverage. Ramsey on their tallest best receiver AJ Green nearly every play. Ramsey can handle him 1 on 1 very well. Next best receiver is their #13, he's fast. Put our 2nd best corner we have in him, but ALWAYS with help over the top. Their other receivers aren't good. I think we'll be able to spare a player for blitzes and/or spying Murray.

Ertz isn't all that deadly anymore. Which of our guys do you think could cover him fairly well 1 on 1?

I Hate it that the game is on Monday night but at least its at SoFi. The Rams need to shake the last game off. Its been that kind of season, Underdogs beating the odds and that's what the niners did and the Lions even last week. The Rams will be ready.

First Look: Rams host Cardinals in Wild Card round in first playoff game in SoFi Stadium's history

The No. 4-seed Rams open the playoffs hosting the No. 5-seed Cardinals in the Wild Card round, in what will be just the second postseason meeting between the two teams in series history. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. Monday night is scheduled 5:15 p.m. pacific time (ESPN/ABC, ESPN2, ESPN+, ESPN Deports, locally on ABC7).

In advance of the contest, here is your First Look at Rams-Cardinals, presented by Audi:

Notable Cardinals additions
  • Signed RB James Conner to a one-year deal in April 2021: Conner has capitalized on the prove-it deal, his 18 total touchdowns good for third-most in the NFL during the 2021 regular season. However, he left last week's game against the Seahawks with a rib injury and is still being evaluated as of Tuesday.
  • Signed WR A.J. green to a one-year deal in March 2021: The 33-year-old Green proved to be a valuable veteran signing, recording 54 receptions for 848 yards and three touchdowns while playing in all 16 games during the regular season.
Top performers in Week 18

QB Kyler Murray completed 28 of 39 pass attempts for 240 yards and one touchdown in Arizona's 38-30 loss to Seattle.

Conner carried the load for the Cardinals' backfield with 15 rushing attempts for 52 yards and one touchdown; he also caught Murray's lone touchdown and added six receptions for 41 yards.

TE Zach Ertz was Murray's top target, hauling in seven catches for 84 yards.

Defensively, S Jalen Thompson tied with LB Isaiah Simmons for the team lead in tackles with six, also recording an interception.

On special teams, K Matt Prater made all three of his field goal attempts and all three of his extra point attempts, while P Andy Lee averaged 51.3 yards per punt across three punts.

Early storylines to watch, and what they mean for the Rams

The regular season series was split 1-1, the Cardinals taking the first meeting in Week 4 before the Rams responded with a thrilling Week 14 win.

Now, the decisive third meeting comes in the playoffs, and with both teams dealing with key injuries.

Arizona on Jan. 7 designated defensive lineman J.J. Watt for return from Injured Reserve, putting him in the 21-day activation window. However, wide receiver De'Andre Hopkins has been on Injured Reserve since Dec. 18 due to the knee injury sustained in Week 14 against the Rams, and Conner is dealing with the aforementioned rib injury coming out of last week's game against the Seahawks.

Similarly, health is a big topic for L.A. this week with Jordan Fuller sustaining a season-ending ankle injury, safety Taylor Rapp in concussion protocol and Darious Williams sustaining a shoulder injury that is still being evaluated.

So compared to that Week 14 meeting, the Cardinals' offense and the Rams' defense could potentially look a bit different. In order to advance, the Rams will need big performances from their next men up.
