My wife DID burn water once. Left the pot on boil, forgot about it, and came back to smoke in the kitchen. I still bring that up often, because it's hilarious and I'm kind of an ass. But that incident aside, my wife can cook MEAN Cuban food. However. Ever since becoming a vegetarian, she doesn't anymore. Except for rice and beans (where she soaks the beans overnight, seasons everything nice, blah blah blah), but it's not the same as Ropa Vieja, Picadillo, Arroz con Pollo, etc.My wife can burn water. Nuff said.
Yeah... I kid. She says she can’t cook cuz she doesn’t want to. But I hate doing dishes and prepping veggies so it works out. I’ve never found anything I couldn’t cook so I always know I can have something the way I like it or mess around with things so I have something different. I have literally thousands of dollars in spices, herbs, Asian seasonings, etc... so aside from a few staples like steaks, prawns, and spaghetti, we rarely eat the same thing twice. I’m not one who can eat the same thing two days in a row. Did enough of that in college. Haven’t eaten Mac n cheese since. My wife DID burn water once. So, we eat healthier now, and I don't get the good Cuban food. It's a sacrifice, but I do it because I love her and want to make her happy. That said, when I'm out at work, and with the boys, I eat REALLY bad (by her standards). Steak, BBQ, gourmet burgers & stuff. She knows, doesn't really approve, but understands that I didn't sign up to be a vegetarian simply because she had a crisis of conscience. And in exchange, I make her panko-breaded eggplant & homemade all-day sauce (gravy), and other good (meatless) Italian dishes.
So, short answer - yes. She can cook.
She just doesn't make anything I like anymore. lol.

It was pretty good, but it was off-the-charts in Miami (aka, North Cuba).I would think that the Cuban food where you used to live in the east coast of Florida was even better.

I make great Pho but never ventured much into Indian food. I love Butter Chicken though. We are talking the Indian Butter Chicken - right?she makes complex crap too like Vi.etnamese Pho and Butter Chicken
