Can we expect any surprise/major moves by Les Snead and the Rams in the next few days?

I have to admit the Draft used to be a lot more fun PRE-MCVAY & SNEAD (NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING/I AM MUCH HAPPIER WITH PLAYOFF/SUPER BOWL WINS!!!)!

But, Even though the Rams don’t pick until the 3rd Round (At least not as of now!) can we expect Snead to come up with a surprise trade or two before the end of the weekend? If yes, Any ideas on who or what the Rams might trade or trade for? It is really nice that the Rams have a pretty solid roster with no major weaknesses but just maybe a couple off upgrades and depth to target in this Draft and the rest of the offseason!

I am definitely READY FOR THE RAMS SUPER BOWL REPEAT!!!

I don’t know anything… but I wonder how much Snead considered the draft class this year when he traded for Stafford.
Because that 32 just isn’t what it has been in other years from what I’ve read.

Les Snead really analyze the drafts.I’m sure he already has a good idea on 2023 .
You come up with good idea’s,but The Rams scouts & Mcvay have this down pretty good.
The system The Rams have right now is pretty crazy though. The way Mcvay runs the show is like no other coach. If Fisher was still the HC who knows? My guess is like HardKnocks said.Just a 7-10 coach with the extra game.

I think the biggest impact moves will come next week once the draft is over. They will sign OBJ and probably Michel. I think of them as part of the draft class. I think it's clear they will draft a OG and punter who will be immediate starters.

They will finish extending AD, Kupp, and perhaps Robinson. That is when Les will make a big splash trade IMO. That move will come after OBJ and Michel are signed and the extended contracts are done. That will mean that trade will probably happen in early May. Even without that trade, this is a solid roster. It will be essentially a better roster than they started with last year. They will be 4 deep at starting level talent at WR, and 3 deep at RB and TE. Their OL will be as good if not better than last year.

So IMO it's the first two weeks after the draft that will be when the roster is finally completed. The draft with the exception of the OG and punter is about depth. In that regard I see a CB and edge being taken as one or two-year developmental talents.

Trading for veteran talent can be done at any time by Snead, just look at last year. His shop is open all season.

At the end of Les & Mcvay the Truth is Sean has the last word if he wants. Les Snead does not have that big of an Ego. That’s what makes it work. The both TRUST each other.

Funny thing Cooper Kupp comes on & gives Les a little nudge for doing what he does & how The Rams got lucky drafting him. Mcvay holds a poker face without comment.

—Always good & even a Kumbaya moment between Snead & Mcvay. Sean knows how to get his goat when needed. There confident in there system. — Mcvay having Raheem working at his side.He knows he is blessed to have him yet another year.

You answer your own point, but give The Wrong answer.

The answer is & always has been to wait during the season when needed.

The Rams are always about developing there players.

Sony ? I think The Rams waiting on signing him can play to there advantage on keeping the RB position open during the draft both in drafting or not being predictable.

OBj ? Imo he wants to wait. Still think he ends up in GB.What’s his price tag ?

I think Ram Fans are getting ahead of themselves if the think there is going to be a trade ? If anything it is to clear cap space for AD99 & Kupp.Rams need to tend to there core first & FORMOST

IMO the CBA rules on UFA signings for comp picks probably means OBJ and probably Michel need to wait until after 4pm EST on Monday. Sean has already said they want OBJ back. In regards to Michel, Snead has seen that mid to low round RBs tend to be more developmental, i.e. like Funk. Michel is a proven commodity, exactly what Snead likes and he and McVay had said they were eyeing him for a long time before he became a FA.

Trades during the season require two teams and a targeted player. The Rams don't have draft picks to make trades other than back. IMO any trades this year probably will require a player in exchange so it becomes problematic.

I think this draft will be quieter than usual for Les. 5 of the Ram's 8 picks are in the 6th and 7th rounds already. They have 2 targeted needs, OG and punter. The rest are depth so I can see them trading back with 104 for a 4th and 6th. Then taking a OG and punter (Stout) in the 4th.

I expect the unexpected now when it comes to Les Snead. It'll be more surprising if we get through the offseason without the Rams doing the unexpected... all though ARob already was a bit unexpected I guess. There have been rumblings about the Rams being interested in Saquon Barkley but I just can't see that happening. But again... expect the unexpected lol.

What we've learned from them is you can always expect the unexpected. Nothing would surprise me and nothing is out of the realm of possibility.

Would I expect any major moves? No.

Would I expect the Rams to trade Taylor Rapp? Sure.

What would be something I wouldn't be surprised about (not that I am expecting it)? Rams trading Higbee or Havenstein.

If I "expect the unexpected", is the "unexpected" still "unexpected"?

Or does it now become the"expected"? Thereby, making it "I expect the expected".

To which one would reply ...
DUH

Wondering if we take a back up QB if one of the top 5 fall to us with our 3rd or 4th round pick. It happened with Mannion, you never know.

They drafted Mannion when our starter was Nick Foles. So not comparable.

Thinking next yr they may seriously look at a back up and potential future starter.

I like that Les talked about drafting for need more than the tired old BPA, mantra.

These guys have fun doing their job, seems like it would be a great organization to work for.

I could see anything happening.. including trading back from 104.

There are so many variables...
-Does someone the really, REALLY love last until 104? Then they'd probably pull the trigger.
-Do they feel good about their situation at RG going into the season? If so, I don't see an OL being picked at 104.
-Do they feel strongly that Rochell is ready to start? If so, I don't see a CB being picked at 104.
-Finding an edge that can contribute as a rookie at 104 isn't too likely.

The above factors are the ones I feel will most strongly impact the strategy. If they trade back from 104, they should get two fourths back.
Three picks in the fourth round.. and then probably trade back in the 6th for more shots, I wouldn't mind that if they ended up with 11 picks.

I'd probably be going Corner, OL and Safety in the 4th. You could reasonably expect two of three to contribute significantly as rookies, imo.

We'll see!

Btw…

I LOVE Jourdan Rodrigue’s last mock. Would be just thrilled if that’s what they came away with.

I can't imagine the Rams drafting a QB but it would be funny. Keep seeing the Nevada kid listed in round 3 and I think he's a lot better than given credit for. He's also a fit for McVay schematically. His deep ball is something.

Les Snead stated a name of a player he had scouted early since HS.
It sort of hurts in the fact IMO Jeff Fisher was such a control freak.
I’m sure Mcvay knows the insights of his relationship with Fisher. Les Snead does not want to go back to those days. He was ask a question about draft history & Mcvay gave him the bait.Snead is smart enough to keep the vision close.
—Just going by The Rams History & this last draft interview. From above.

The Name Derrick Henry — had to think about it & look him up. WTF - It’s Derrick Henry. That said I was PISSED about the trade.
