He also said he didn't want a guarantee of a starters job he just wanted into a camp to play it out and see if he got the #1 or #2 job.

He said he didn't want a guarantee, but wanted a contract that would pay him as a starter if he won it, even if he entered camp as the #2 guy - which is not the norm for free agent contracts, especially for a guy with the issues of being demoted and not a #1 QB any longer. Baltimore would have signed him, but he wanted an atypical contract for a guy entering camp as a backup.

Bortles is awful he's fine for his cap hit though.
Goff is awful under McVay as well! Wonder how awful that QB room can get?
Plenty of backups are 2nd tier quarterbacks like Kaepernick.

I already mentioned that he would be a distraction.

If it wasn't for his politics he'd be a backup somewhere in the league.

Yeah but nobody has this debate about Manziel or Tebow. The reason they do for Colin is because they support Kaeps politics.

He should be blackballed from the NFL. Anybody who has a job on this forum protested at work and brought that much negative attention to their employer would have a job any longer. How hard it be for them to get another job?

There are some things you don’t do at work. Period.

2. If Tebow ran out of time why can’t it for Kaep?

3.Obviously with the rap mogul Jay Z teaming up with the NFL this discussion is officially over. I mean hasn’t big $$$$ spoken? Let’s face it Kaep isn’t gonna get to play ball again - but the plus side is he is an icon now, rich beyond belief, and he doesn’t have to ever pick up another tab in his life. He’s a civil rights activist with mad street cred and he has his knees...meaning he wasn’t physically run into the ground like a mark rypien— Why doesn’t he just move on? Why can’t we all move on?

Or do we have to keep reading about this 49er. Where is the Druckenmiller thread??? Gino Carmazza or whatever the fuck that loser was called. Throw Kaep in the heap with those freaks!

He also won a lawsuit against the NFL and was awarded millions of dollars. So did Eric Ried who also kneeled as a 49er. He has a job in the NFL now though because nobody really knows him but everyone knows Kaepernick.

They did NOT win their lawsuit, they settled out of court. While some estimated they got millions (some estimated much less depending on what the payment included) it was never disclosed what the actual payout was as it was all hidden behind a NDA.

I'd call getting paid a "win".

What would you do if the Rams decided to give Kapernick a workout?

Well they wouldn't because he would be an awful fit for this offense. He doesn't have the skillset. Plus Bortles is a better option as a back up.

I never said I agreed with his politics.
All I've mentioned is that he is physically capable of being a backup and that his politics are his problem.

He's won way more professional games and looks way better running a team and is much more physically capable than Sean Mannion, yet Sean Mannion is being given a shot as a backup.

There is a dearth of quality at the quarterback position so they would give anybody a shot that has any skills at all.

Amazing coincidence!
Posters that don't think Colin Kaepernick can play also have a problem with players that kneel.

Who would have thunk it?

Plenty of teams have backup quarterbacks the don't have the natural athletic ability of Kaepernick.

But if you don't like the guy because he started the kneeling controversy it's really easy to convince yourself that he can't play worth a flip.

Strangely convenient but silly.
Yeah.... Sorry. But just because someone doesn't agree with your take doesn't prove a disconnected value to their argument. Let's see.... What's that called... Oh yeah. Straw man.

I could see where Krap could be a viable back up - possibly. He has been out for some time and showed some serious chinks in his armor while he was still playing. It makes me think he would be both a distraction AND a zero net gain for a team.

And if a team signed him and he never saw the field, it would obviously be because of his politics - right? Just trying to use your logic here.

I don't buy that his kneeling has kept teams from signing him. Elway offered him a contract. He met with the Ravens. He had a private work out in Seattle. None of that adds up to what you're trying to allege.

It's quite possible the guy is simply a narcissist and values his abilities far more than those hiring in the NFL. This is my guess because EVERY team wants to win and the American public and fans in general find ways to justify almost anything if their team is winning.

If you don't think there's a connection between the people that claim he cannot play AT ALL and the fact that they hate his politics?

I don't know what to tell you.

I never pointed out or insinuated that you support his politics.
No point talking about something by getting offended by something that wasn't meant or written to offend.
Outrage culture, unreal.

Also your opinion and a professional NFL's teams personal opinions are two different things. I'm pretty sure an NFL organization is going to trust their personal on who gives them a better shot to win.

Krapondick has been given opportunities, yet he's not humble or a team player enough to take those opportunities.

Who said he cannot play at all? Maybe I missed that. Do you know what his demands are for a contract? Did you watch his private work out? Did you attend the interview with the Ravens?

I personally don't think he advances a team's goals of winning. He - by all accounts - is not a good clipboard guy. He - by all accounts - thinks he should start (as he should if he earns it). He - by all accounts - wants guarantees that teams simply don't give back-up QBs.

Sorry but he strikes me as the definition of ME not we. He's just not good enough for teams to buy the whole package.

What I primarily encounter the most these days is the outrage-outrage culture tho. People getting offended by people being offended. Hyper-snowflakism? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So your saying you get outraged and get upset when people get outraged at you for being outraged?
