It's getting late here in So Cal so I thought I would give you all my impressions of todays activities. I have a lot of photos to edit and I'll post a link to my Google Photos when I'm done.
So just like last year, LMU campus is a nice campus but it is not great spot for fans to watch training camp. We are sitting in the sun, no shade but there is a cool ocean breeze most of the time. I miss the UCI experience. Lots of fans of course, all types of fans!
It was Vamos Rams day today so we got to hear mariachi music. The music group came in front of the stands prior to the players getting on the field and played some of their music for us. First song...get this...Crazy Train! I'm sure that was an ode to Ozzy.
Once the players started taking the field, the crowd would erupt into cheers for their favorite players. Kyren W., Byron Young, Puka (big cheers for him) but the biggest cheer went to V8, Jared Verse. Never did see M. Stafford.
The following comments won't be in any particular order, just from my memory:
K. Williams looks like he is in mid season form. Quick, decisive, holding onto the ball securely and if they had pads on he would not be afraid of contact.
Tutu was not participating on team drills, just standing on the sideline but he was playing during the 11 x 11 portion.
Stetson Bennet was throwing some really nice balls! This was during wide receiver's running deep routes with no defense.
Dresser Winn was dressed but I don't recall seeing him in any scrimmage action.
Jimmy G. looks the same. Glad we resigned him, he's a solid backup.
Reeder was playing MLB and had the green dot on the helmet.
S. Dolac was also playing the MLB and green dot guy. That could be something to watch as camp progresses.
Ferguson is a big target with some good hands. I can see big things from him this season.
The other LB's we are interested in, Pooh Paul Jr and Stewart did not seem to show much but I could be wrong. It's hard to watch everybody.
Blake Corum is freaky fast! He broke a run off the left side and smoked all the DB's.
Tony Fields II (remember I talked with his father before camp) was getting a lot of snaps but he seemed to be sort of a hybrid LB/Safety. I'll have to pay closer attention to that.
That's all I can recall at this moment.
@bubbaramfan and I had a good time and it great catching up with all our own off season activities. So till next time (which is next Tuesday), remember if you aren't having fun, you're doing it wrong!
