6) Stafford to Kupp: In what has become a recurring theme, Stafford once again connected with wide receiver Cooper Kupp for a big play through the air. This time, he evaded pressure, then climbed in the pocket and launched a deep ball to Kupp, who hauled in what would've been good for about a 30-yard catch.
The only time a WR like Kupp isn't open for a QB like Stafford is if he's being doubled. Opposing DBs are about to be "in the shit" trying to cover that dude this year.

Wow.
A bit surprised to see the kudos for B. Allen.

I sure hope he can put it together. Solid depth is greatly needed at that pos.
He really did look good out there today. I pointed out the hug and pep talk from McVay. He had just blocked down to his right on the DT, clearing the way for Henderson and a big gain.

I think center competition has just became a thing.

Saw on your photo Noteboom playing RT ? BubbaRam made mention. Seems to be Carberry is taken more control of the O” line today .
I also think The Rams are getting ready for the preseason & Brewer might be the 3rd string LT ?

Noteboom is going to start the season as their swing OT so he needs to get comfortable playing on the right side. Also, with the heavy cap, they are carrying on Havenstein in relation to his mediocre play if Noteboom looks good that opens up their options on Havenstein. But in reality, I think it's just giving reps to guys who will be playing backup roles this year. The same can be said with Allen.

If an OG goes down they will have the option to slide Corbett over and play Allen at center. The interior OL is two-deep at all positions.

Just saw the video on YT of Stafford's TD throw to Woods today. Its actually nuts and shows multiple angles. Watch his eyes. He's literally looking left for a full 2 seconds before he comes back right and immediately throws a laser in between double coverage. He obviously wanted to go there the entire time and just held the safeties as long as he could before he fired it. Just next level elite quarterbacking. I fucking love this guy.

It really blows me away when people don't see what I plainly see. I'm not neccesarily speaking of anyone on this forum, but supposed experts? Like this play, Stafford doesn some unreal things at QB, but doesn't seem to get any respect from these people as to his freakish ability. They look at the Lions record and dismiss everything about him. I know I didn't pay much attention to him before he became a Ram. I vaguely remember him getting picked the year before we picked Sam Bradford and then Donald sacking him, but that's it. Yet, I'm a fan and not a guy paid to do analysis of the NFL. He does Patrick Mahommes type things, well before the Mahommey was out of High School. Are we just blind to nuance? I hope Matthew wins a Super Bowl this year for a lot of reasons, but this is certainly one: Claimng his stature as a great QB in this league who finally got a real chance with a great team.

I actually think he gets a lot of love from most of the media because they respect his talent. How could you not? You watch the guy play one game and you can easily see how excellent he is.

The only knock on him anyone points to is the W/L record and 0-3 in the playoffs. But wins aren't a QB stat, its a team stat. His first playoff game he threw for 380yds and had 4 TDs and lost. Anyone that sees this dude play respects his game, and now with McVay's scheme and all the talent in LA hes going to explode. With Akers out I think he will be firmly in the MVP conversation this year.

Maybe only negative comments creep into my YouTube feed about him.

Goff sure seems way better coming into camp this season!

When did he change his number to 9?

Time for me to suck it up and give some kudos to Brian Allen. He came into camp bigger and so far has looked good and been very consistent with his snaps, besides playing Guard and the interior on special teams too. Coleman Shelton has not looked good and besides struggling with snaps gave up a sack too. I'm sure Allen will play plenty on preseason, but so far, I come away impressed.

Nice to hear Brian Allen is playing better. Besides the option of having him as the backup center, he could actually start at center, move Corbett back to guard, and Evans back to being the back up tackle/guard. I'm not rooting for that, but it's got to be nice for McVay to have options and capable depth.

I think the fact that he is regarded so highly despite his relative lack of success is a huge amount of respect. Not many QBs with a 74-93 career record are viewed as potential mvp candidates with legit super bowl expectations. Not sure what else you want? You want him regarded with Mahomes and Rodgers and Brady? He needs to win it’s that simple. His talent is not questioned by anyone that I’ve ever seen.

*disclaimer not saying the Win/Loss record is Staffords fault whatsoever.

Yeah he did, I was going to comment about his size based on some camp pics I've seen like the one @VeteranRamFan took from several days ago of him compared to one from several years ago. Looks like he really hit the upper body days and is now built like a stout brick house.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing what Stafford does with the Rams.

He does seem to fit the mode of what McVay wants out of a QB.

I feel so sorry for those opposing DBs.

That is great to hear about Allen. I had kind of written him off as a failed draft pick. If he's looking better for us now and making C an actual competition, that can only mean good things for us at a position that has really plagued us the last couple of years.

Seems like a double standard when it comes to that. With Stafford they respond with a "Yeah, but his record". The coach in the Bay Area has a losing record and they all think he's great. He's got excuses. But Stafford doesn't.

There is definitely a difference.
Allen looks to be much bigger.
Nice pull, on those pics.

What on earth has happened to Coleman Shelton? Goodness…
From all reports thus far it would appear that Coleman Shelton did not prepare himself well enough in this past off-season. It may have caused the signing of former Ram OL'er Jeremiah Kolone who has been off and on a Ram since 2018. I really do believe that Coleman Shelton was a Kromer Ol'er.

On the flip side, everyone's spitball target interior OL'er Brian Allen would seem to have put in the effort to provide great comfort to Snead & McVay...& to me as well. If Allen keeps continuing trending up as he has this first week then many of my concerns over the center post will subside dramatically. Most know that I have remained positive about Allen.

It would also seem to me that rookie Jordan Meredith has caught the attention of this Ram Org. to the point where they are going to put some effort into coaching him up to possibly the future reserve OC.
